I'm a dog trainer (AKC, ADPT, CLASS, IACP) and you can totally get Honey to stop digging holes! Just be consistent in giving her the leave it cue and praising/encouraging her when she does leave it, even for a sec! You might butt heads with her husky stubbornness but you got Cheeto to pee in the toilet one time! You can do this!
This! ALSO, give her and Uno their own sandbox and direct her to the appropriate "legal" digging box when she digs elsewhere and reward her for digging in the right place! Digging is normal for dogs!
Sydney Lupton Totally! Digging is as natural to dogs as breathing so having an outlet for that urge is a great idea!! I’ve got a Golden Retriever at home that loves to dig so I taught him to help my grandmother pull weeds in the garden. Teamwork!

They need to take care of the dogs they have before getting more animals. I will start reporting their videos if i'm noticing any kind of animal neglect going on. A husky dog is a high maintenance breed. It's very concerning that their dog is digging holes in the ground. That's what dogs do when they're understimulated.

I will agree that Huskies are high-energy and high-maintenance, but we don't know why Honey, specifically, is digging yet. Some dogs dig when they are under stimulated, for sure, but some also just dig. Since she's not a terrier though, you may be right. She also might have some stress from the mov to the new house. Whatever is the cause of her digging, I hope it gets addressed. I hope my reply comes across as mild, because I'm not disagreeing with you at all.

Huskies are known diggers, some tips to help her stop is 1. Not let her alone outside as she will get into the habit and feel rewarded for doing it. Always stop her if she starts digging. 2. She probably needs more exercise, or toys to keep entertained. 3. Designated digging spot, which is probably easier to do. Pick a corner of the yard or create a sand pit and encourage her to dig there instead. All dogs can be helped
Agree and would also like to add that many dogs dig because they're hot and want to cool off. If you give her a place to dig make sure it's shaded.

Hi Ryland! I’m a dog trainer and I wanted to give you a suggestion on Honeys digging. Most of the time, dogs dog because they are bored. However with Honey being a Husky, it’s in their breed to dig. I would suggest building her a sandbox! Hide treats and bones in the sand to encourage her to use it. That way she has her own spot she’s allowed to dig. Good luck!

Please do not get one single pig. They are so much happier with a friend although they may seem fine. Pigs love to curl up with each other at night and interact, they are so SO much happier in pairs, unless it lives in the house with the family, having other animals like goats will not sustain their social needs. x

Every animal deserves to be loved. They adopted honey, honey was a rescue and I’m pretty sure they adopted uno too. Let them do what they want to.. you SHOULD adopt animals but you should also consider buying as well.. they both just want love. Let them do what they want..

Ryland, I’m really happy that you want your own little farm, but please make sure to look into it and research before you actually bring any animals in. They require care. Like actual care 24/7, they need medical attention, they get sick sometimes, you will have to clean up a lot of poop, so make sure you do realize how much of your time will have to be dedicated to your farm before you do it. Goats and pigs aren’t just cute, they are not toys or accessories, they are living creatures and you have to be responsible for their wellbeing.
EDIT: Ok since some people were upset by this comment: this is not an accusation, this is advice. All I want is for them to be happy and have a positive experience with their farm. It is A LOT more work than most of you seem to think, it is a lifestyle. I’m not saying they shouldn’t do it, I’m saying they need to be aware of what they’re getting themselves into! They have to understand that a farm is gonna turn their life upside down and be ready for it :)

T G we bought 6 pigs a couple years ago thinking they’d be easy pets (we have an established dairy farm but never had pigs), and didn’t realise how much work goes into them. Especially maintaining their grazing because they turn everything into mud 😂

make sure Honey is getting plenty of exercise and mental stimulation ! that should help with the digging. Look into Kong toys, puzzle toys, and dog treadmills (or your own will work) ! The number one reason dogs dig is just because they're bored and have a build up of energy. Hope this helps some
My dog likes to do a digging motion but it's to the carpet and pillows. I wonder if it's because she is bored!?
Oh my gosh, Kong is a live saver for my husky. The dog beach also really tires dogs out, and dog parks are great too!
