This video saved me a lot of trouble and mess. What this guy does is spot on. If I had seen him using the metal strips instead of doing wedges I might have opted for his continuous support for the cooktop. Wolf should include doing the painters tape as a required step. I waited 12 hours before pealing the tape off and the RTV edge was perfect. This video should be required viewing before doing the install.
Thank you for the feedback! Glad this video helped you with installing!
Nice demonstration - thank you 💜 from Germany :-)
Thank you!
Excellent video! We have had a real challenge getting the cooktop installed. Can you tell me where you purchase the aluminum shims?
It looks like there might be some on Amazon, Grainger, or you can try your local hardware store.
GE states that only their Monogram can be mounted flush. Do you know what keeps a GE Profile or Cafe from being mounted flush?
This is what I have been wondering. So much so.
what was the sila product you used?
He used Sikaflex leveling sealant (black). It's just a black/dark gray silicone sealant.
@@Donsappliances thank you
Great video. What is the kit he refers to and where can you get it?
Any experience installing 2 of these next to each other without a gap?
I'm afraid that's just not happening. You could do it, you could probably even get the gap to be minimally visible (glass edges tend to be chamfered and getting two of them to touch completely seemlessly would be difficult) but there's going to be quite a bit of thermal expansion and touching two rigid brittle edges in that environment will likely result in cracking down the line.
