That’s my dream guitar. I’ve told myself that when I graduate high school which will also mark my two year anniversary of playing guitar that I would buy it as a gift for myself.
Just drop out and get it now
Do YOU! GET IT.💫
Have you gotten it?
You gotten it yet man?
I have one you will love it , good look with school man
My god. Can 2020 get any stranger? Never thought I would want an epiphone over a Gibson
Not sure why you would want an Epi over a Gibson but to each his own
@@robertnunn497 Gibson Les Paul Customs are grossly overpriced at $4000 to $5000 and above.
@@robertnunn497 because cause you can save like $1000 if the sound is close enough for you
@@robertnunn497 Gibsons suck. They never stay in tune.
@@GuitarPlayer1395 these epis are awesome with the nubone nut. no complaints. I sold my Gibson Custom white 5 years ago. Beauty of a guitar but its definitely not 4000$ better than the 2020 epiphone customs. These things are awesome. No fret complaints here.
They fixed the diamond size. It looks so much better now
Is this official? I've been looking at some newer models and it does appear the diamond is bigger. Definitely prefer the large diamond
Yep I ordered one just because of that reason! Looks just like the older Japanese models so clean 🤘🏼
@@joelewis3632 yes it’s official as of all the 2021 “inspired by Gibson “ models 🤘🏼
I bet if they made it in Randy Rhoads cream it would sell like crazy...
I think they have made a few models in the early to mid 2000s that were similar to that color like Ivory, I know for a fact they haven't always done Alpine White
I would buy it in a heartbeat, otherwise I would settle with the black one. The Arctic/Olympic colors are way too white for me.
They have a black back cream one w vintage looking pup covers cheaper now 549 black friday
Randy actually had an alpine white Les Paul custom. It just faded to the ivory color with age. Give this thing time, and it’ll fade the same way.
@@timothyweesner6286 it won't turn yellow. Randy's was finished with Nitro. That Epiphone is acrylic.
Haven't watched you in a couple of years. Glad I did today. Glad to see you're still at it. You're a good man Steve. Thanks for being a bright spot in this wacked-out world.
Fastway riff much appreciated! RIP Fast Eddie Clarke.
Hahaha beat me to it. First band I ever saw live. Cains Ballroom in Tulsa.
Say what you will... you will.
@@james3452 Saw them open for Rush "Moving Pictures" tour. They put Rush to shame and were 50x louder
@@antneyfatts665 Fastway did not open for Rush on Moving Pictures, Saxon & Max Webster did.
@@robertthomas7239 The whole tour? Maybe it was another tour I'm thinking? Either way, it was a great show that I saw.
The ebony fingerboard is the essential feature for me. I love the headstock change. I always hated the old one.
You always give honest straight reviews , and always a pleasure listening to you play...
Greetings from Rhode Island! Man, that is a gorgeous Les Paul. That headstock...it's about time! WOW!
Happy to hear another person finally mention the first fret marker. I'm really surprised it isn't the first thing mentioned when talking about the features of a Custom. To me, it's by far the easiest way to tell one apart.
Fixing to order a Custom with a Koa top .I remembered watching this review when you first put it out. I enjoyed it even more this time. You are having so much fun. Awesome . Keep up the great work. Thanks !
I just did😉 Hope I didn’t snipe it from you.
Just want to drop a line here and say your videos are always a good start of my day. Plus always nicely shot video and audio too!
How come I hadn’t seen your vids in my recommend for over a year? Nice to see them again.
Love how wholesome you are.. waiting for my Custom in the mail, cant wait!
I've been a long time subscriber and just wanted to say I've noticed a big improvement in your playing. Nice job dude👍
Hey Steve I just want to say that I love watching your videos, and the fact you're posting more reviews.
I picked up the Alpine White Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro a few months back, and I'm honestly amazed!!!!
Solid construction, not a single flaw.
I've traditionally played Jackson's, Strat's and others, but this instrument quickly relegated the others to the shelf!
Played through a Marshall, the Probuckers are outstanding. It actually has the Paul Kossoff tone.
Epiphone has a great video about blind test of their probucker pickups. They are a true PAF pickup.
Great video my friend. Smiled the whole way through. Loved how you demo'd the same lick with different sounds, more guitar cats should do just that. So simple and so effectively informative. Thank you sir, have a great 2021.
I just bought the Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro in Koa wood... It's an absolute beast of a guitar and through my 50 watt BOSS Katana amp I can reproduce any sound stage possible. Best money I've ever spent and I've own a American Strat, American Les Paul studios, Schecters in which the C-1 with the EMG 81 and 85 actives just absolutely slays Rock, Metal, and blues... Great video...Keep up the good work...
Great video!!
Nice to see the Epis get a lovely facelift. Sounds incredible. I own the Black Beauty 3. Big fan of the first fret marker, a must from my perspective.
Definitely like this Epi over the others from the last several years. Love the headstock!
Great review. I've been on the fence about buying one. Placed my order today!!!
These new epiphones are insane Dude! I love the white custom . Every upgrade made is a home run ....using CTS pots is awesome, the pick ups are wonderful , esp using a tube Amp! I have a black '13 she's my baby, but I'd love to add a white custom! Great playing Dude. You showcased the guitar 🎸 well!
I only like the gold hardware on white paint, perfect match.
Took the words right outta my mouth
It tarnishes and fades pretty easy
Wasn't ready for this intro... (love it)
glad to see youre still doing vids! been a while since I watched your channel.
I have a black one on the way. Super excited. So pumped about that headstock it looks so awesome.
Holy man, just put this video on in the background and had to stop what I was doing. I thought, gawd this guitar sounds great. Nice demo!!
My son has a 2016 less Paul custom in white with the gold trim he plays the he'll out of it and it's an epiphone and has held up very well. Since he bought his a few years ago I have been wanting one for myself they are very good for no more than they cost.
Best review I've seen so far. Real talk and no fluff. Thank you. I've been looking at getting me one of these and was wondering if it would be worth the investment. Thanks for a great review of it.
Yo Steve, been watching your vids for a while, just subscribed recently, really enjoy the way you talk about your guitars and also enjoy your playing...keep on rocking bro.
Cheers from Mexico
You need a radio show bro. Great voice!
Hey buddy, Steve O from Florida. Thank you for the great video! 😎. Beautiful guitar, and I am going to be in the market very soon for my next one. Love a lot of what Epiphone puts out, owned several models but have yet to get a 2020.
I bought one last Christmas from Sweetwater. I had it PLEKed and it is so smooth.
I have a Japanese white LP Custom Elitist that I found in mint condition on Craigslist. They actually only made them in Japan and stopped production years ago so they're hard to find and are getting more expensive. I also have a Gibson and several other guitars but that Elitist just connects with me like no other guitar. I never would've purchased a white guitar, but when I saw it, I was hooked.
So agreed on that block in Ebony fretboard. Nothing can replace that!
That middle position sound is so nicely balanced. Sounds great.
The Master Chef, of the Sweetest Tone Sauce ever, strikes again! I want one of these, just because SFB showed me what it is capable of. Great demo!
I was thinking about this gutiar all day before watching or seeing this. Been playing some higher end les pauls but man this Gutiar is soooo Fantastic for the money. The Gibson would involve me selling a few Gutiars. Its crazy you posted this today and I think you sold me!
I just received this guitar w/ the natural wood finish as a bday/xmas gift from my brother. LOVE IT !!!!!! only got to test if for about 30 min but checking out it's potential on here.
I’m just shocked that you made a video and not just a live stream! Wish you’d do more - the guitar space misses you!
One of my best friends had an Epiphone Les Paul Custom in Black in 04. It was beautiful and sounded great.
Great playing as always bud! Epi REALLY stepped things up after 2020! Theyre like a new company. I love my Standard 50’s
Thanks for the demo Steve. Just bought one of these at Manchester Music Mill in N.H. You really do it justice with your great technique/ skills. Plays good compared to my 1970 Custom. Take care.
Wonder if this is the same Manchester Music I would frequent in 1991-93 during college years
@@che2335 m.m.m wasn't open yet. Joe originally started the store in Morgan storage. Now he owns a couple of buildings in Manchester NH on Elm street.
Hi Steve - Thanks for a great video and review of this guitar! Until I watched your vid I was not convinced. I purchased the KOA top and very happy! Keep up the great Videos and live segments...
I'm loving all these extra review video Steve! Steppin' up you game man! PEDAL TO THE METAL!!! 🎸🤘🤩🤘🎸
Just ordered this guitar your video info w all the upgrades sold em can’t wait to get it
I was looking up my Model last month, and you vid has been recommended since, my mouse hovered over it while I was doing something else, and played half the video in the caption box, I figured I've already used the WiFi up....
And then a little serendipity, I just got a H&K Attax 100, they sound great.
I looked at my gear when the amp settled into the floor it's five inches or so, (heavy) and thought, Budget Lifeson. (And I don't play the full Sus chords and Bar Chords like he does so it is fitting I have lesser Equipment).
Love your tone, that's my sound as well, with no delay though. Not even too much reverb. Very Dry and Punchy.
You seriously have great tone in those fingers. Killer!
Bought mine in ‘13 new for $468. Love it still. Upgraded electronics and locking bridge. My number 2 guitar. The neck on mine is quite thick compared to my Gibson custom though which is why amongst other obvious things Gibson is still my number one! Great video thanks 👍
Thanks for this review Steve. I def want the ebony color. Love anything with an ebony Board
I have a circa 2008 les Paul custom from epiphone in this exact same spec! Still have it and it’s still awesome!!
I wonder what it will be like to compare both 14 years appart
that big smile at 7.50 probably says enough. great looking and sounding guitar in my opinion
I have the CUSTOM PRO alpine...
LOVE IT!
Stays In tune ALL night long.
Love the coil taps too.
I would suggest getting the custom Pro, if you can find one
getting this guitar in a few days CANNOT WAIT.
i love your videos keep making them bro your playing ang knowledge of the guitar is what i appreciate
5:13 The headstock really caught my attention
when I first saw the new models, so nice,
I could never warm up to the pre 2020
headstocks, they just seemed way to large.
I even like this headstock over the Gibson,
not by a big margin, but would definitely
choose this one over it.
Reminds me of Randy Rhodes les Paul he had when he was in quiet Riot and Ozzy. I think it’s the most beautiful les Paul ever. I just bought a Epiphone les Paul custom prophecy plus with Meg pick ups and love it! Rock on!
love this sound. Not to harsh or distorted. Bang on for my ears!
So glad they changed headstock. Only thing that ever stopped me buying one. Think the ornate one works on jazzy semi types. Cheers
Nice demo! I like your style - a man after my own heart!
Steve, the newer ones have the "correct" Gibson style split diamond inlay, so it looks even closer to the original now.
I've seen pictures online, and a black Epiphone SG custom with the larger diamond, so hopefully it will be something they keep, as it does look better (won't make any difference to the sound of the guitar, but hey.......😜)!!
Only just realised that these are ALL Mahogany, with no maple cap, so built like the original ones from 1954-60. That's a surprise, so sound very different from a Standard, as was originally the idea I suppose!! 😁
I picked up the new Custom Silverburst! LOVE IT!!!!
That guitar is like heaven on earth but for guitars. That gold and white together is a dream to look at.
Heard that Fastway riff and since my band currently covers that song and I've been interested in this guitar anyway, I took it as a sign that I need to get it!🤘
I love you man. You always bring me back to sanity.
“ Kalamazoo” headstock! & Steve, diggin’ your channel!
Long time lurker. thanks for doing this vid. Enjoy your vids.
I agree! Binding, ebony, blocks, gold, speed knobs... A Custom should have all that. I also like the new headstock so much better!!
The greatest quality and the best sounding that I have played so far from the Epiphone is the Epiphone Les Paul 1955 custom (Both P90 Pickups). I hope Epiphone will continue produce more 1955 custom guitars with the new headstock🎸🎸🎸
Those black epiphone 2020 SG's are really truly stunning. Maybe it's my introduction to rock music starting with Angus, but it's way more tuned in to the aesthetics of an SG for my preferences. Especially the white binding on the neck and gold hardware. Of course guitars are entirely subjective. In fact, until you said so, I had no idea so many people were anti gold hardware! I'm thoroughly not anti. Definitely in the smaller percentile of people who dig it. Epiphone are nailing it lately! Rock on Steve! 🤘🤘
I order one yesterday. It will be delivered tomorrow. It looks gorgeous
what song is that at 6:55?
Hello Steve great review! What is the amp/effects you are using for this video? Sounds fantastic!
I was waiting for you to say that. 😅
Ebony fretboard and no maple cap on the body are my two first thoughts on a Les Paul Custom. And the binding 😉
The switch trick reminds me of Ace Frehley.
I had a 1960 Les Paul Custom “fretless wonder” for 25 years. I got this Epiphone. It play just as good.
It's an almost exact replica of the 1983 from wha, I can tell. I would love to see a, video of how it compares, but I sure not that many people have one to compare. BTW the best part of your videos, that room mic, nothing better than that sound of strings slapping the frets and popping. Thanks for the grest video, I'm heavily thinking about getting one. My uncle has the 83, I would love to compare them.
You sold me on this guitar. Great playing and tone. What monitors or speakers are you playing the Overloud through?
Beautiful ax. I just picked up a Modern in graphite. Any thoughts on which you'd prefer? Looks-wise, I guess the Custom gets the nod. Specs-wise, they're about equal. But I'm talking about where the rubber meets the road - hours of endless playing - which would you prefer? New Subscriber, btw.
Great tone! what are you playing this Epiphone LP Custom through. Appreciate any specifics you can share. thanks in advance.
Man... love the way you play!
Makes me want to work harder.
Thanks for sharing Steve !
That Epiphone is killer 🤘
Thank you Epiphone Gibson for fixing the headstock. Ive always maintained i wont be caught dead with that neutered headstock. Now i wpuld totally play that
NIce job on the explanation, Steve. I just bought a new Epiphone Custom Limited Edition with P90s from Guitar Center, and I can't find any specs on this model. Has all the features you mentioned like block inlays, cool headstock inlay, sweet double binding, etc. I don't see much information at all on these with the P90s though.
Looks great Steve! Hoping they make an “Axcess” version. Thinner, lighter & perfect “Axcess” heel joint.
The Muse and Modern might up your alley...
They did. The Modern has the access heel.
The Matt Heafy Custom will have a high access neck heel
You're one funny guy... you cracked me up several times thru out the video! Great video... great playing and great sound! What is your signal chain....? Anyways you just got another subscriber! Cheers from Vancouver Canada!
Dude was that Fastway Say what you will? Awesome!
I got both the white and ebony. Had Sweetwater Plek them both. Awesome guitars!
Totally agree steve, but the biggest surprice to me was the open and clear sound without that bad epiphone muffeling. Or is that due to THU ?
When I was a kid I had a 1975 Ibanez "Law suit " custom Les Paul it was beautiful I had to give it up when I joined the Navy
ive had this guitar for years now and I never really appreciated until recently (maybe it was my inability to use humbucks). but the tone on this thing rocks and it's great value for the price.
Great video. Love the playing. What delay / software are you using for the sound? (Thanks!)
Thanks Steve, your always ON IT.
I'm gonna pick one of these up. I thought about saving up for the gibson one, but dang.
The game has changed! When u play one now , with its gorgeous ebony board , u will think it's 4g guitar 🎸. It absolutely rips and sounds like your defeating demons from Hell!
Ive had good cars cost less than 4000
The latest batches of these Epi Customs have the big split diamond just like the Gibsons. Check them out. Sweetwater even got their hands on the new Custom Koa as well. Just gorgeous.
Gorgeous Epiphone! Love the custom style.
Here’s a reviewer I could hang out with. Nice job, Steve
Hey Steve, what are you using for your tone at the beginning (your go to sound)? Sounds killer!
So no one's gonna talk about my man using the mouse with his left hand?
I use the mouse with my left hand but play right handed (borrowed someone else's guitar when learning).
@@guitarxy1948 Being able to play right handed is helpful in the guitar world
...LOL...being an ambidex person I never noticed but ya, if HE is that left handed (using a mouse left handed is a REALLY big tell) it is rare to see a lefty use a right handed guitar. I am left handed but I use both hands for many things and can play net in hockey both ways....I am only left dedicated at eating and writing with the southpaw.
Would be nice to hear your thoughts on a comparison between the 2020 Epi and earlier Epis...
HI Steve, looking to buy a humbucker guitar, would you recommend the new Epi or PRS se,thanks
