EVERYONE wanted to help, but the impacted-by, record-breaking snow levels proved impossible for hundreds of first-responders and generous, determined volunteers to do the impossible -- save him.
While clearly IN NO WAY does this comfort the stunned, grieving immediate family, relatives, friends, colleagues and other loved ones, the sportsman died doing something he cherished and lived for -- not unlike the surfer at Morro Bay who was fatally attacked by the great, white shark last week.
As stunningly beautiful and bountiful as Mother Nature is, e.g., the mountains and the sea, there are these rare times when Mother Nature turns on us. Yet statistically, the numbers pale in comparison to death caused by the usual suspects: deadly illnesses, fatal diseases, deadly accidents, fatal wounds from acts of violence and suicide brought on by insurmountable physical and emotional suffering.

    • @mehere8038

snow is way better than rain for fixing droughts! Rain runs off the dry land, taking all the top soil with it. Snow slowly melts into it, making every drop of water count!
Last time we got snow in the west of NSW Australia, it was only a thin layer, enough for the frost to cause a lot of death of plants, but the joy was overwhelming, cause that 1mm of water was going to be fully absorbed into the soil, having the impact 5 times as much rain would have had. I'm shocked at how negatively this is being reported when it's such a blessing!

No business was open besides big chain names, but roads weren't salted (as of right now still not well to drive in but better than the 3 days ago) and many cars were left on the side of the road. Be safe out there. If you can't find salt, just use cat litter to melt the ice and don't go out unless you absolutely must
