I got the same guitar when I was 6 years old at 1965. This was a bit more brown and I had the same amplifier. And no, they did not sell them together in Sears, they were separate.
But it is a cool little lamp. I still had these.
But I live in Florida. My mom lived in North Carolina and when she passed. I went to North Carolina. She still had everything but I have no idea when I walk into the house. What happened I had a couple more Nice little amplifiers. But I remember setting up with an extension cord in the backyard every Sunday. Be because behind our house, there was a church that was predominantly black. But they had a great piano player and a bass player. And some great singers. And I would sit in my backyard with my guitar amplifier. While they were singing and praying to the Lord, I was playing to the Lord LOL.
He brought back a lot of memories. Sure, wish I knew what happened to my stuff breaks my heart but it is what it is. Thanks for the memories again brother❤

yep, I had that amp when I was 14 in the late 70's...given to me by my friends dad...I would dime the vol and tone add an mxr distortion + and that was my sound

We use to call them Sears Suckers. They are worth a few bucks now.

The "magic twanger" has a place and a sound that live in old school musician. Great for VFW and eagle gigs doing oldies. Perfect.

I wonder if that guitar and amp was a Christmas present just a few weeks after assembly?

      Great point, very possible!

It's possible, but not likely -- maybe Christmas '66. The components Harmony used got built in huge batches and didn't necessarily get used right away, and not in FIFO order. So kind of like the date code stamped on the inside of Harmony acoustics/hollowbodies, you know it wasn't made *before* that date, but you don't necessarily know how long after it took for that piece to make into a final assembly.

For me, the amp is the star here. It would be a cool little addition to a studio.

Very cool, I have a Silvertone 1432 amp that is killer. Looks like there was no ground lead from the bridge of the guitar into the cavity to complete the grounding circuit. That would be something else to do to it

Silvertone was once the most original brand ever... (imo at least)

I know this isn't the first time you've opened up that amp but it is still very clean. I can't believe how clean it is on the inside. I don't think it was played very much. What a score...

Thanks for watching! Yea, I didn't clean it out it just came that way, sooo nice. The contact cleaner was all i did

@@PlayandTradeGuitars you should follow that up with a good lube. The cleaner is hard on the contact surfaces of the rheostat and wiper. Vintage more so. Have you sold it yet? Also, what is the occasion for the giveaway of the green‐top?..been waiting so long I forgot.
