- Managed to make a few 10 second passes in the dragster at York Raceway, 10.4 @ 123 mph is the best so far. 128mph was our highest terminal speed of the day.

Excellent runs, well done.
A stock ZX9R should do the 1/4 mile in around 10 - 10.5 seconds at 135mph+. You need to try using more of that powerband with NOS. I'm interested to see just how much faster you would be.
What is the chassis built with? Mild steel or chrome moly. Nice car would like to build one.
A car is different than a bike. First gear of a motorcycle is about the opposite of what your looking for to launch a car. I would add a flywheel that could hold the inertia needed to launch it or get tires that are smaller and or different compound to get it to spin just a little. Use a progressive nitrous to get your big end back. My 3¢.
If you can run low 10s with launches as BAD as that, EIGHTS MUST be on the cards. LOL
Remind me to discuss how I can help you with that the next time you come over. ;-)
What engine does it have? Great sounding little car!
This car does run pretty well. However, watching the launch it seems that there is a lack of low end torque. That would cause the hesitation that is occurring during launch. Maybe a power to weight ratio issue.
Thanks for the information. I learned something new and that is never a bad thing. I was thinking of building a drag car using a micro car body power by a cycle engine. Seems like it would be a reliable and fun combination.
Soumds like you were short-shifting-whatrpm do you shift at?
I was short shifting, No idea what RPM I don't have a tachometer in there i just guess, The nitrous likes to be under load
Mine loves it in the peak torque range with the n2o at 100%
If your short shifting your not getting to your peak torque. If the motor is stock, get a tach and find out what the redline is for that motor and shift there.BETTER YET, put it on a chassis dyno and it will tell you at what rpm your peak is, and shift at that rpm
tomhazard did u build the chassing your self or was it a kit i wont to build one can u give me some specs my email is gunsandbeer5726@gmail.com
Your rev counteracts frothy and yellowing cork marketeers, is of and handstand can banish belch fancies.
Back on your meds, dude.
That is the SORRIEST excuse for a racing surface I've seen in a long, long time!
Chris Pile unfortunately it’s all we had in the north of England. We no longer have this track which is a real shame. A shit track was better than no track at all. A new crew are trying to get funds together to lay a new track on this same airfield so hopefully we can get enough people helping out and donating to get a new track in England. We only have one permanent race track in the UK and that’s Santa Pod, We had 3 until two years ago.
I would like to see more of this car I have a shaft driven Honda I would like to build something like this with
