The actress playing Debbie nailed it. I love her transformation from this scene to the last where she’s all cleaned up, hair done and dressed nice. Same attitude though.
Always love how you can see the strained pain in Pine's face when he tells his son "No, you believe it. I did all of it." I loved how he had the strength to be brutally honest with his son; to let him subtly know he is sacrificing a part of himself to save him and his brother and give them a better life.
I love the dynamic between him and his ex. It's not trying to set up some fairy tale romantic ending. They're both damaged from their divorce, she's still mad at how he handled it. He's nothing but honest about how he's screwed things up. Realism is always more impressive than over dramatized fantasy
What aways bothered me about this scene was that he hadn't secured the ranch yet. So he basically just told his son "hey we're gonna be rich yeehaw!" but if he got his head blown off the next day I can't imagine a son that would have less love or respect for their dead dad, after the bank takes the house.
@@gezenews, You're over thinking it. The director purposely ran misdirection to lead up to this scene. Toby was shot, and struggling with the pain. Did he look pained when he handed his ex-wife the money? Gun shot wounds don't just heal in an 5 minutes. His brother will never heal. He got to the bank by Thursday . Come hell or high water. He won the game.
@@gezenews I feel like that's more evidence of why he needs his sons not to be like him. He's clearly smart, tough, determined, but perhaps this is an example of him making promises he doesn't always know he can keep. Maybe this even contributed to his divorce. It's definitely wrong of him to promise before he's secured it, but I think it works with his character as an imperfect man and an imperfect father.

Soon even those rich people who don't like cinema will have to go and see such film just to be able to say that they have seen it and quote a few sentences as proof. The absurdity of it is absurd😂😅.
Because of non-payment from their sick mother and back taxes from non-payment the guys had a week to come up with 30,000 dollars otherwise the bank owns the property(kind of like repossession on land) regardless of oil.
