I couldnt get my hands on one as i realized they were a thing after it initially released and the prices were a scam but it does look cool and is was a unique idea
I found one at a garage sale in my neighborhood. The first and only game I've played so far was Kirby's Adventure, which I really looked forward to as a kid. I've also found a Doctor Strange blu-ray at the same place.
I modded mine successfully and I'm just plain bad with these sort of things so it really isn't a daunting task. I kept all the internal storage space and didn't anything extra and squeezed out ~100 NES games as well as my favorite GB, GBA, genesis, SNES, and even arcade games on this little guy. Still works strong and I even have a pair of still boxed official controllers to whip out should my original set fail some day. Really glad my kids get to experience the classics in a pretty impressive and easy to understand form factor.
Interesting topic! I love my mini consoles (SNES, Genesis and TurboGrafx), and the Amiga 500 mini is being released next week - so the mini-console trend Nintendo started is still alive and well.
@@benreay6698 yes, you're right. None of those really had the same impact as the NES classic though, so perhaps i should have said that Nintendo popularised the trend rather than starting it.
@@gregorys9629 I wouldn't say that either tho. @@benreay6698 I think the lack of a ps2 mini is a combination of the underwhelming ps1 mini and the difficulty / costs of accurately emulating 3d games (which seems to be why we're getting a Genesis mini 2 instead of a Saturn / Dreamcast mini). @@gregorys9629 At the risk of sounding stupid, why do you need emulation at all? Doesn't Sony have access to the schematics for Playstation 2? Why can't they just... Make a mini PS2? I luckily got one from my brother in law for 20 bucks! I want the snes, genesis and turbografx 16 mini to complete my childhood collection! Since the price tag is so steep on these I'm really considering going the retropie route and get a all in 1 quality console with controllers!
It's an incredible system, a proper NES controller replica, 30 amazing games. Remember I couldn't get one initially and ended up paying £140 from a scalper (ouch!). No regrets though as I'll play it forever. I bought a second one when it was rereleased which I've kept complete in its box

Only 59 bucks how can you go wrong . I got the 2018 rerelease and they sold out just as quick and getting a spare controller was impossible. I added a bunch of ROMS to my (official) NES Classic Edition a couple years ago. However, I noticed lately that it shuts down in the middle of me trying to play it. Ok. I'll be honest, I have no idea how to solve that. I assume you don't have that issue with videos from other channels, but this is also the first time I've heard about this issue. So I don't know where the issue is. I don't see a setting anywhere to change from Mono to Stereo or anything like that. If it's the way I record my audio, then I don't think I can do much about it. I record my audio through my phone, basically using it as if it's on speaker phone through the free Inshot app (where I edit the entire video, it's all done on my phone). I don't have any proper recording equipment. If you, or anyone else who reads this, have a solution then I'm all for it.
Really? That's an interesting critique. I'll definitely keep that in mind for future videos. Since this video came out, I've basically always used the same music, but I've lowered the volume to help make it noticeable only during gaps in my voice to fill any potential voids. I'm definitely interested in critiques like this though, I'm always looking for ways to improve the experience for the viewer. Would you prefer music in certain moments, full songs instead of a singular riff, a variety of songs or riffs, or any other suggestions? If I'm able to implement changes right away remains to be seen, but I'll take everything into consideration.

I wanted one so bad but they were unavailable. So I went online for alternatives and found the raspberry pi. If Nintendo hadn't done their whole forced scarcity FOMO shtick I wouldn't have found out about it.

only ONE controller with a TWO foot cord ?? .... a billion dollar company makes you pay extra for another controller AND makes you pay for an extension cord ?? ..... AND half of the game are completely worthless .... now i remember why i stopped playing games
Poor choice of games, short cord and high price is the reason I wouldn’t recommend this and that’s why I buy knockoffs because they offer better selection for dirt cheap!
Did we get the same system? Lot of good classics on there. The only problem with the controller was the length of the cord but extensions took care of that. I then proceeded to hack the system and put another emulator on it to replace Nintendo's default NES emulator. Got every Famicom/NES/FDS game on it
I agree, lots of good classics. Hacking the system is something I never really looked into. I enjoy leaving systems stock, unless I have 2 of the same console. But that does sound pretty good, to have every game on the system.
