Well done! I was wondering hot to attack the pick to the toothbrush and I think you found the best method. I wish they made these picks in brass or even a hard nylon. The steel picks tend to damage the softer brass inside the lock when used a lot in the same lock.

I think this tool will be very helpful for me the better locks and especially padlocks. However, for lower end locks, I think a simple rake tool (and tensioner) will be faster. I say this based on my experience of watching my brother do some unlocks for customers and later showing me. I swear he owned many locks faster with pick tools faster than I could have with the key. As for myself, after being shown, on my first lock ever, I successfully opened it in only 3 rakes. I was amazed at how easy it is to do. Maybe it was beginners luck or just a good teacher. Since then I've managed to get several locks with a paper clip albeit much harder and more time. I keep saying I'm going to but a real pick kit but I just don't have much of a need for one as I use it only about once every 2-3 years.
I need to make this a short comment because I have to be back at my cell for muster but thanks for all the tips you give here. I'll let you know how it goes.
just an observation from my experience, don't start the device until you get the blade into the key slot. Stick the blade all the way in, back it out just a touch then turn it on or you run the risk of bending the blade inserting it into the key slot with it running. I have actually seen people damage blades with a Multipick Kronos by doing just what you are doing in this video.
Hi John, I thought I explained it very well since the modification is so easy to do and I supplied images. You need a small heat gun, a Dremel with a cut-off wheel, and crazy glue. :-) Thanks for watching!
Just one question for you, ..if I have to buy an electric pick gun to get those pick tips, then why not just use the pick gun that you bought? Hey I’m just busting your chops, you made a fine video. I both Liked and Subscribed.

I don't know why, I thought it was extremely simple. Apply heat, pull off the brush, cut to 1" long when cool, make another cut into the end as shown, cut tube to 3/8", apply glue to all parts, then insert the blade fully and tap down the ring.

@@electronicsNmore The issue isn't a failure of intelligence or lack of imagination on the part of some of your viewers, rather it's simply that some people understand and retain instructions much better when they can see someone else performing the task. These people are just visual learners. Some people prefer text, some prefer visuals, others prefer the spoken word. Me, I'm somewhere in the middle but I can certainly understand the issue - if you're a visual person, you just get a concept faster and more thoroughly by seeing it acted out, it's the language through which they see and understand the world. If you just barely grasp a foreign language, and can technically understand it, would you want to use it to learn something else? The way you move it, these locks would open even if it was turned off. Moving a normal pick in them poor locks like that would have the same effect.
The fast vibration is what does it. The pins vibrate to the shear line.
So...now I have to replace all my deadbolts with some device that isn't pickable, and likewise Master locks. Gee thanks Mr. Wizard! 😠
Wow can we buy the tool from you?
I only show how to make things, I don't sell what I make. Thanks for the offer.
