Back in the 1960s, my dad made chandeliers from cans and trays and spray paint for a Methodist church that was young and poor. Your project made me think of him and how proud we were of them.
I’m 74, retired English teacher, Realtor, jewelry sales. I sew, paint, garden, craft, decorate, cook, and raised 3 children, but you are my new favorite person to follow! I want to learn to use the power tools! You are amazing! I’ve beaten COVID, and am now down fighting with an injured hip, but before long I’ll be back at it. So keep your phenomenal ideas coming. I just found you a couple days ago and subscribed and have watched every show of yours I can find. I can’t wait to get moving again! “Designed to the Nines” is the best!
I’m so in love with the outdoor chandelier!! Such a budget friendly and incredibly fun project to be so proud of!! I cannot imagine swinging off the trees, patio or umbrella switching all the candles on!! I would be the one to do it to have them all in!! So, thank you soooo much for the control candle idea!! Love your shirt about us women can use saws and all too, good for you!! 💖💖 You’re just the cutest!! Well, beautiful within and out! My granddaughters LOVE watching your channel with me, these young ladies are always on board!!
INDEED. loved your comment !! I use SO many things , I was not too surprised about the tuna cans, I made really nice Luminaries out of large cans and they turned out beautiful. Did designs with a small drill in some of them, others had decoupage on them. :)
Natalee, you are truly an amazing designer, builder and instructor. I have loved all of you projects. Your instructions are so easy to follow. I really like that you tell what each project costs and what products to use. You have a subscriber for life.
Holy Butch girl! I love how you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and use power tools. You have great taste in that ottoman was absolutely gorgeous!
Wow!!! You are such a talented lady with extremely good taste! I strongly suggest that you compile all of your wonderful diys into a book. I trust it would be a best seller. Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas.
For the blue unit - I like how you explained how to use the tools - easy to understand for those that haven't used those types of tools yet not too boring for those who have. Also so glad you didn't 'distress' the paint. I feel 'distressed' when people do that - I always think that when something is distressed it means that the item needs to be fixed up because it looks worn out.
Totally understand… Sometimes I like to distress and sometimes I don’t. I guess it just depends on my mood and where it’s going. LOL! Thanks for watching.☺️💕
Thanks so much for showing us how to use the power tools. They way you give details on how to turn on and use each tool helps alot. I was extremely hesitant but now comfortable in using some. Great projects!!
New subscriber! Wow you really have "an eye" for diys and upcycling. Thank you so much for sharing your gift! As I've watched this video I've gone back and forth to Amazon and Wal-Mart online for power tools... Found some great deals including circular saws you attach to your drill (for small jobs of course)... You have lit a fire in me! Thank you!!
I am new to your channel and a first time viewer, but boy am I impressed by your creativity and zeal. Its been ages since I came across a real designer, who can make classy yet usable projects happen on a shoe string budget and here you are!! Kudos to your creativity and design abilities, keep up the good work.
Loved all the project you created. Let me tell you, I have never watched an hour long vide on you tube. I can’t even watch a 15 min video without fast forwarding. Love that you are to the point and have substantial info. You are making me wish I had a sewing machine. 😘
Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch them. You can find sewing machines and classified ads for pretty inexpensive if you want to give it a whirl! It’s kind of like driving a car. You could totally do it!😃💕
How did I only just find you!! You have given me the confidence to try my own diy's, thankyou!! You're so easy to watch, always smiling and I plan on binge watching everything you've ever made!!!?
Well done. You are cute and self-depracating so it makes your projects SO approachable. You admit your mistakes, and just laugh because, really, life is too short! Thanks for being a presence on UA-cam that (at least today) both inspires and lowers my blood pressure! LOL
It’s seriously impossible to pick a favorite. I absolutely love every one of them!!! I agree completely about central Florida thrift stores. I live in Brevard County and have yet to find a thrift store that I love. Either they have only low quality pieces or are asking way too much for the better quality items.
Kudos for encouraging women to use power tools! I was fortunate to have a father who thought a daughter was just as capable as any son. I can happily report he wad right and I did him proud. He'd be a big supporter of you as well with your skill and confidence with the tools.
Since I was unable to sleep last night, I lucked up on your channel and had a wonderful time. Your projects and your instructions were wonderful. I now look forward to your of your videos and am a new subscriber, from Mobile, Alabama.
I love all of these projects, my favorite is the chandelier. You were so creative in your use of prodcuts, so when you finished, I was very much - WOWED! 👏
Wow, loved it! My favorite has to be the tire ottoman. I love the smell of tires!! I joked with my family wants it all the way to do was give me a tire for my birthday and I would stick it in my bedroom! You are amazing!
Okay so I’m not even 10 minutes in but girl, lol this chandelier is genius! You are so resourceful! I hate making so much waste but this kind of use is perfect!
As a longtime DIY-er, I suggest you wash your upholstery fabric for slipcovers before you make anything. It WILL shrink which is a bummer after all your hard work. Buy approximately 1/2 yard extra, plus extra if you need to match stripes, or pattern repeat. Yes, a bit of extra work, but you'll be glad you did. I iron, starch, and Scotchguard the fabric, then sew. Even when the upholstery fabric says 'dry clean only' I wash it. The only upholstery fabric I don't wash is silk or rayon, but those are pretty high-end, so I rarely use them.. Great channel, great ideas. I like especially how you show the "why" of doing something a certain way which is great if someone hasn't done that technique before. I can't wait to try some of your great techniques and ideas!
My favorite is the chandelier! So clever. I only have a drill and a sander. I'm a novice DIYer. I'm intimidated by saws. Thanks for making it look so easy and talking us through it. So helpful!
Tuning in from Australia, love some of your idea's and your presentation and dialogue is on point, thank you for some fun idea's, We don't have Dollar Tree but there are some alternatives and it's nice to see we could do some of your idea's. A Cricut or Sillouette is definitely on my wish list as I love to scrapbook as well.
I’m a new subscriber! I love your projects and creativity. I love the ottoman! Who am I kidding?! I love it all! I can’t wait to watch more! I’m hooked!
I love watching your channel and enjoy seeing how you turn trash into treasure. Not to mention your sweet voice. Thanks for sharing your talents and all your great ideas. Stay healthy and may God bless you. Judy from GA.
I really like the wooden console cabinet that you made shaker doors for, added blue paint, a top, feet, ring door pulls, brass sprayed door hinges, and baskets in the shelf above the doors. This piece cost what, $60 total, and looks like a Pottery Barn or William & Sonoma $700 - $900 piece! I love it!
Check out Salvation Army. They are hit n miss like most thrift stores, however they are a Christian organization and the money they make actually go to help ppl. Im new to your channel, and I like your ideas!
Love, love, love how the porch light and bench turned out! Both are .my favorite!! I can't believe how close they were to the inspiration! ....but much less expensive! Great video! Thanks!
I am 69 and have totally missed the letter machine phenomenon; I was wondering why the same cursive fonts are used over and over on signage and graphics for sale on Etsy. Now I see why SO many people decorate with word signs rather than actual art or art prints; they don't actually design and paint all that signage. It's cut out and stuck on. Young homemakers (not you necessarily): develop a hobby or two and MAKE things with which to slowly decorate. You don't need expensive machines. Often such tools are simple -- needles, brushes, paints, yarn, and such. Your particular skill seems to be woodworking and that's great. LOVED the blue shelf-cabinet. Learn to embroider, make quilts, paint, sew your drapes or curtains and your throw pillows, braid or weave a rug, work with wood -- make something that takes some skill, and time to develop, that is beautiful and possibly utilitarian, and that can be passed down to your children. You don't have to have a farmhouse style of decor -- mostly in white ala Joanne Gaines. Boy, does that get old fast and it's why so much texture is needed to counteract it, with shiplap, throw pillows and chunky afghans, and the mixed metals in black, copper, bronze, nickel, etc. Go your own way instead of slavishly copying her style. Make your home an expression of YOU, your family, your interests. Another thing that I wonder about with the young homemakers on youtube videos who show off their homes: where are your family's beloved books? I treasure one of my grandmother's small paintings in a naive style; and also a small tray she painted. We hang up our toddler's paintings; where does all that creativity and pride of skill and mastery go once we are adults? You can tell I am a trained painter and art teacher. Now. I loved your ease with your power tools, and it's great to know there is a lady out there who knows her way around a power tool! Have you used up all your Kona gel stain yet?
I totally agree with you… some skills are becoming a lost art… Takes sewing for example. I love to sew but a lot of people don’t know how to do it anymore. I think the vinyl cutting machines are good for people who don’t have a natural take to paint or don’t feel very artistic themselves. But I agree make pillows, sew your own curtains... etc. Not only do you save money, but you have a sense of pride in having accomplished and created some thing. My skills are pretty broad but I have never learned how to crochet or knit. Little by little… and an answer to your question… Nope. Still have the endless bottomless pit of Kona gel stain. I think I will have to have a party when I finally run out. I do have a dining table I just acquired at the thrift store, debating whether or not to use it on that! 😆
I loved all the stuff you made ! My favorite was the jewelry box and the bench . I thought your bench looked just like the high price one . Thank you for sharing and inspiring me .
Well, I’m thinking all those tuna sandwiches paid off! 😜 (I literally laughed out loud after your statement of all the tuna sandwiches you ate! Thanks for the chuckle on that one! 😂) Anyhoo, I haven’t even got past your first project yet and it’s already my favorite!! Love how you thought out of the box for the supply list! Can’t wait for the next ones!! Hugsies! 💛 Linda
LUV the ingenuity of using a cut off nail to mark the placement of dowels!! I have been struggling (ahem.... stopped dead in my tracks...) with joining 2 pieces to make a frame. TY for that girl power trick! Keep on putting out video contents :)
My favorite was the reclaimed cubby shelf that you made doors for and painted so beautifully. I wish I could find something similar. I'll be on the lookout!
Your projects are awesome! I love your attention to detail....like with the stripes of the bench...that is the differece between a "good enough result" and a "great result" . Will continue to watch your channel. Thanks for sharing!
Your blue shelf is so pretty. I’m glad that you’re showing women that they can use power tools. They really aren’t that intimidating. Boy you weren’t kidding about the chest being different when you finished. It reminds me of the Hollywood glam look with the mirrors. Excellent job on that old bench! It had to be from the 80’s. I remember making floral drapes, because the florals were really ‘in’ then. You do very nice work. 😊🌸
Hi Natalee, just discovered your lovely channel and wanted to say what fabulous ideas you’ve got. Well impressed! I’m now subscribed as I don’t want to miss anything. Love your demeanour too, you’ve a very happy smiling face - just what we all need right now. 😊🇬🇧
I love that you show women how to use tools. I have been using them for many years but most women are intimidated and running to get a man. They just need confidence. Go you!!
I love the level of your crafts and creativity! You blow my mind with your power tool confidence and ability to measure lol.... teaching me something new and awesome every time!
The hanging fixture was amazing! How creative and beautiful. I cannot wait to make the ottoman. My son just asked me what power tool I wanted for Mother’s Day. I own many and love to use them. I love that you do not use Dollar Tree stuff all the time. I also love your voice, it is so easy to listen to!
Your work is great! I love the way you describe is such detail and your creations don't look trashy. They look classy. You have great taste and love your shows! Great work! Kathy Boissonneault from Ontario Canada
Wow Natalee, you’re really awesome and generous, thank you immensely for sharing your project makeovers, I’m just in awe! We’ve just closed on a brand new house, it has a media room, office, game room, and I’m getting my own craft room so I’m in need of ideas and inspiration on furniture makeovers and decorating ideas. Discovering your channel has been a life/budget saver (I also have a Cricut Maker, an Explore Air and tons of HTV/permanent vinyl), you’ve given me so many ideas to put to use.... with maybe the exception of the gorgeous bench you hacked at the end of your video, due to being a complete failure at sewing (I took 3 years of Home Economics and I have a nice, new, sewing machine and serger, I’m just too inpatient to sew). 🥴 Thank you again, I’m binge watching more of your awesome videos! ❤️
I love this chandelier. You think right out of the can on this one...lol. You did a wonderful job with this chandelier!!! Thank you for sharing this video.❤️❤️❤️ your DIY's!!!
I liked the chandelier and I also liked the furniture you painted and added the doors to. That blue color suits it better than the brown did. It's hard to choose I like all of them.
I lived in Lantana for about a year. I loved it there! My favorite piece is the blue shelf, I would have totally bought that too! I simply love the way it turned out. The baskets make the look. ALL of the projects were fabulous as always! Great job Natalee, but you always do great work! I love my power tools also. Stay power-ful!!!
Excellent idea! I’ve recently painted the interior of this home, I’ll spare all those details, but the furniture the ended up outside got rained on 3 x’s unexpectedly and w the cost of the paint and removal of popcorn ceiling, next to replace flooring, this video is a perfect solution to the furniture! Thank you for sharing! What a relief!!!
For some reason, I’m not seeing the subscribe or the bell to receive all your videos! Hope I can find it soon, you u are so easy and enjoyable to watch and love your creations! Thx again!!!
I loved what you did with the tyre. You are so clever. Additionally your new blue cupboard was inspired. Love your work. Thank you so much for sharing.
Just stumbled across your channel today....wowsers! Love it! You are fun and bubbly and I love your power tool skills! YAY! Can't wait to look through older ones and to see future ones.
Loved all these projects, especially building cabinet doors. I have an old open front hutch that needs doors to become a kitchen island. I have wood, and a great set of tools; circular and reciprocating saw ,etc...that i have been too intimidated to use.
⭐️Which was your favorite project? Did you like this episode? Watch this next: ua-cam.com/video/FTh9PHEkyEY/v-deo.html
I loved this episode.
I love the ottoman! Genius design and recycling.
Loved them all, but that tuna can light is amazing!
The Ikea nightstand transformation is my favorite. Love, love, love it! All of your projects are amazing! 💕
Loved the tuna fish chandelier
Back in the 1960s, my dad made chandeliers from cans and trays and spray paint for a Methodist church that was young and poor. Your project made me think of him and how proud we were of them.

I love how you explain how to use your power tools. So many women shy away from using tools. Loved the results with the Blue cabinet.
Thanks Jodie! I love my power tools.💕
I’m so in love with the outdoor chandelier!! Such a budget friendly and incredibly fun project to be so proud of!! These are all STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Favorite is the chandelier! Wish I had a place for one!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Julie! 💕
Skeptic: "There's no way you can use tuna cans to make a chandelier!"
Natalee: "Hold my wine."
My gosh, woman! You can do anything!!!
INDEED. loved your comment !! I use SO many things , I was not too surprised about the tuna cans, I made really nice Luminaries out of large cans and they turned out beautiful. Did designs with a small drill in some of them, others had decoupage on them. :)
The mirrored night stand is to die for!!😍😍😍
Natalee, you are truly an amazing designer, builder and instructor. I have loved all of you projects. Your instructions are so easy to follow. I really like that you tell what each project costs and what products to use. You have a subscriber for life.
Wow! Thank you so much for your very sweet comment and support of my channel! If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do! 💕
Liked a lot, but especially the bench.
Holy Butch girl! I love how you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and use power tools. You have great taste in that ottoman was absolutely gorgeous!
I loved all the projects but I’m IN love with that ottoman and the tip for using fence finials instead of actual furniture feet is genius!
I am so glad 💕 Thank you ☺️
Wow!!! You are such a talented lady with extremely good taste! I strongly suggest that you compile all of your wonderful diys into a book. I trust it would be a best seller. Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas.
Well that’s very sweet of you to say Star! #Goals💕

Lady, you are amazing. So creative. You look like a beauty pageant queen but handle power tools like a real professional!
Thank you so much! Elbow elbow wrist wrist wrist… LOL!😆😘
You've inspired me, and I'm an old thrifter from way back. You had me at tuna chandelier!
Wasn’t that such a funny use for tuna cans?! But it really did work! thanks for watching.☺️💕
😂
Thanks so much for showing us how to use the power tools. They way you give details on how to turn on and use each tool helps alot. I was extremely hesitant but now comfortable in using some. Great projects!!

I love everything that you do 😍please demonstrate how to make an easy roman shade...🙏🏾
I have thought about doing that before. I’ll see what I can do! 😃
I would love to learn how to make a Roman shade as well.
Mollie Forbes It would be nice to see how others make Roman shades. I use to make lots of Roman Blinds / shades when I lived in the UK 🇬🇧😀
Yes! I vote Roman shade. I’ve seen other tutorials on them but I just can not seem to grasp it. I like how you explain things!

I am so amazed with your talent your so awesome thanks for showing us all your great ideas josie🤗
Wow! Thank you so much.💕
Omg, the "you're so HOT" comment by your hubby, love it!
He’s so funny sometimes!😂💕 sometimes he likes to come check out what I’m doing... 😃
That's literally all I want my hubby to say when I start doing my DIYs lol
I enjoyed your tutorials. I'm excited to try some of them. It's great to see a girl who isn't afraid of power tools!
Thank you so much ☺️💕
My favorite was the reclaimed cubby shelf that you made doors for and painted so beautifully. I wish I could find something similar. I'll be on the lookout!
I bet you can! 😃
Your projects are awesome! I love your attention to detail....like with the stripes of the bench...that is the differece between a "good enough result" and a "great result" . Will continue to watch your channel. Thanks for sharing!
I’m so happy to meet you Sandra! Glad you could join the DIY Niner family.☺️💕
The dresser is fantastic...rich looking...
Thank you Barb! 😊💕
Love most of your transformations but my favorite is the Ballard dupe and your mirrored nightstand!
Thank you 🙏
Hi Natalee, just discovered your lovely channel and wanted to say what fabulous ideas you’ve got. Well impressed! I’m now subscribed as I don’t want to miss anything. Love your demeanour too, you’ve a very happy smiling face - just what we all need right now. 😊🇬🇧
I am so happy to meet you! Welcome to the DIY Niners.💕
Ah, thank you. You too! 😊🇬🇧
I love that you show women how to use tools. I have been using them for many years but most women are intimidated and running to get a man. They just need confidence. Go you!!
Loved the nightstand and blue cabinet. Favorite treat Dove dark chocolate with peanut butter. YUM!
I’ve had those! They’re amazing! Thanks for watching!💕
I love the level of your crafts and creativity! You blow my mind with your power tool confidence and ability to measure lol.... teaching me something new and awesome every time!
Thank you so much Robyn! Before you know it! You will be POWERful too!💕
Love ❤️ it all but that BEE 🐝 sign is adorbs 🌟👏🏼. The nite stand with mirrors are beautiful!!!
Thank you! 🤗
We love all your DIY's... learning so much from you. My husband couldn't believe I can use power tools too.. Oh yeah!!! Than you bunch...
Awesome. Thanks Rita!
You are so kind Sandra! I definitely try to be very strategic in my use of Dollar Tree products. Thank you so much for supporting my channel. 💕
Designed to the Nines I just called my son, he has two tires for me. Can’t wait to get started.
Good luck 🍀😃
Your imagination amazes me. All of your projects looks very nice.

Wow! Thank you so much! 🥰 very sweet of you! 💕
I absolutely love the Blue cabinet. It's stunning, plus my favorite color.
Thank you ☺️💕
Amazing! I love all of these projects! I also love that the background music is barely audible and it’s not “crazy” or distracting!!!
Madame. You are so fun. I love your laugh. You make my day! Thank you. 😊😊😊
Oh thank you!☺️💕
Wow Natalee, you’re really awesome and generous, thank you immensely for sharing your project makeovers, I’m just in awe! ❤️
I love all your makeovers. So beautiful
I love this chandelier. You think right out of the can on this one...lol. You did a wonderful job with this chandelier!!! Thank you for sharing this video.❤️❤️❤️ your DIY's!!!
LOL! That was a genius response! “Out of the can “💕 thank you🙏
Girl, you are my kind of people!!
Awesome Ada!💕 that makes you my kind of people too!
I love how you explain how to use the power tools. I want to go out and buy all of them!
I’m so glad! You will love owning power tools. They are a true game changer.
Wow ,everything u redo becomes absolutely gorgeous! I enjoyed your videos .
I loved the white jars! I'm always saving jars and not sure what to do with them.
I liked the chandelier and I also liked the furniture you painted and added the doors to. That blue color suits it better than the brown did. It's hard to choose I like all of them.
Thank you so much Stephanie! ☺️💕
Love the light fixture.
These were great DIYs & I would actually do these. I love your step by step directions. TYFS!
Omgosh!! I’m floored right now!!!! Great dupe!! I already have a ton of candles I bought from amazon. Your home is beautiful!!
Thank you so much 🙏💕
I lived in Lantana for about a year. I loved it there! My favorite piece is the blue shelf, I would have totally bought that too! I simply love the way it turned out. The baskets make the look. ALL of the projects were fabulous as always! Great job Natalee, but you always do great work!
I love my power tools also. Stay power-ful!!!
love the console table it's just perfect ,I admire your precision
Thank you 😊💕
I love it!!!! I love watching you bc never know what your going to do!! And I like that you take on real big projects!!! You rock!!!
Wow! Thank you 🙏
I love the Blue bookshelf, with the turned feet
Excellent idea! I’ve recently painted the interior of this home, I’ll spare all those details, but the furniture the ended up outside got rained on 3 x’s unexpectedly and w the cost of the paint and removal of popcorn ceiling, next to replace flooring, this video is a perfect solution to the furniture! Thank you for sharing! What a relief!!!
For some reason, I’m not seeing the subscribe or the bell to receive all your videos! Hope I can find it soon, you u are so easy and enjoyable to watch and love your creations! Thx again!!!
Do you have a veterans thrift near you? They have proven to be my fav, plus it helps our warriors right here in the good ol USA!!!
Oh my word Susan you were just the sweetest! Thanks for watching and good luck with all of your projects. I’m happy to give you inspiration.😃

They are all amazing projects! You are so talented, thank you for showing us how you do things!!
So very nice to meet you Rhonda! Welcome to the DIY Niner family! 💕
Thanks for showing how to use tools. I want to make things with tools but not sure if I have the ability. you make it look so easy.
You can do it! I promise. Just start with something small and gain a little confidence and then you can go from there.
I liked all of them but that tire and night table were amazing! Love your channel.
Awe... thank you Dannette! 💕
Natalee is there anything you cannot do!! You are an inspiration to us all women! In addition you are so bloody funny. Keep it up woman!
Loved how the cabinet turn out.
Great projects. Nothing better then taking things that people dont want and make them over into something beautiful.
Thanks Rebecca! I love a good fixer-upper.💕
Loved all these projects, especially building cabinet doors. I have an old open front hutch that needs doors to become a kitchen island. I have wood, and a great set of tools; circular and reciprocating saw ,etc...that i have been too intimidated to use.
You got this. Just be safe and calm. You will do great.
