- Robert Urich is guest on 'The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder' during this 1997 interview. Urich discusses his current TV Movie at the time: Final Descent and dealing with battle with cance; working jobs in Ohio and many other topics.
Robert Urich (1946 - 2002) was an American film, television, stage actor, and television producer. Over the course of his 30-year career, he starred in a record 15 television series. Urich began his career in television in the early 1970s. In 1988, he began hosting the documentary series National Geographic Explorer. He won a CableACE Award for his work on the series. He was also awarded a Golden Boot Award for his work in Western television series and films. In 1996, Urich starred in The Lazarus Man. It was canceled shortly after he announced that he had been diagnosed with synovial sarcoma, a rare cancer, in July that year. He sought treatment for his illness while continuing his career and also worked to raise money for cancer research. He was declared cancer free in 1998 and returned to television in the UPN series, Love Boat: The Next Wave. In 2000, he made his Broadway debut as Billy Flynn in the musical Chicago. His last role was in the NBC sitcom Emeril in 2001, but in the autumn of that year, his cancer returned and he died in April 2002 at age 55.
Tom Snyder (1936-2007) was an American television personality, news anchor, and radio personality best known for his late night talk shows Tomorrow, on the NBC television network in the 1970s and 1980s, and The Late Late Show, on the CBS Television Network in the 1990s. 'Tom Snyder was a pioneering figure in broadcast journalism who brought a no non-sense attitude to broadcast television news. Loved by millions, respected by peers, and resisted by the executives for speaking his mind.'

RIP Robert & Tom. I loved both of you.
Bobby was always so inspiring, even through pain & sickness & with the rubbish & backlash coming from the industry due to his illness. Yet he never caved in or gave up. Truly remarkable stamina. Not only was he tremendously talented, he was breathtakingly handsome, yet he did not realize this. He always had a twinkle in his eyes & it was never lost throughout his life journey. He was also off the cuff immensely comedic, just funny, & extremely humble & generous with his time & giving. He was a hunk of a man, both in stature & character & simply gorgeous to look upon. I will forever miss his smile. He is forever missed, & in my estimation, taken home way too soon. He had more to give, but for his 55 years, he gave it all. He won the battle; & won the more important role: being home, freed, with Jesus! ✝ Missing you Handsome! 💋Can't wait to hear you singing again. 🚿💘
Mr. Urich has always been one of my favorites on TV. He's extremely likable on the screen and I truly miss him being around. The world is a little less nice place without Robert Urich.

I totally agree. Watch him in Tabitha on Crackle!! They had him in a three piece suit a lot…lanky and hilarious and sexy.
He is so good looking. My stomach turns.
back when passengers could go up and fly the plane
No offense to Robert Slatery, but Mr. Urich would have been a great "Robert Sterling." I could see the production of Mad Men shuting down for DAYS due to Mr. Urich's sense of humor.
Medicine is the only cure and prayers. Sadly he died at 55. Too young.
On Vega$ he parted his hair on the right side. Always suspected he wore a hair piece.
