- Elliot's last words ends up being his best move in order to save his life and release his friend Shayla from captivity.
From Mr Robot Season 1 Episode 6 "eps1.5_br4ve-trave1er.asf"
Shayla is kidnapped by Vera's brother in order to pressure Elliot to hack Vera out of prison before he is killed on the inside. Elliot visits Vera to check on the prison's cyber system, and later realizes Vera's brother arranged the inside hit. Acting CTO Scott reveals to Tyrell that his wife told him about the bathroom incident, humiliating Tyrell. After Tyrell smashes his kitchen in rage, Joanna explains that Sharon's desire to be wanted is their vulnerability. Angela meets with lawyers in an attempt to reopen her toxic waste lawsuit against E Corp - they tell her it is impossible to win without testimony from someone on the inside. Elliot breaks Vera out of jail, and Vera immediately kills his brother. Upon Elliot's query about Shayla, Vera tosses him the keys to the car and says, "She was with you the whole time." Elliot opens the trunk and finds Shayla inside with her throat slit.

Theres also the scene where that guy gets fired. I noticed that the character goes through all of the 5 stages of grief in order: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and acceptance. Nice detail

I love how Vara is this tangental wild card character. No connection to the 5/9 hack, Dark Army, ect. Just a sociopathic threat to Elliot.

It seemed as though every season when Elliot's arrogance causes him to underestimate his enemies, an episode like this came around to knock him down a peg or two. Vera proves on this occasion that he is the smarter man in the room. He is not as dumb as Elliot thinks he is. There is also a cool parallel between Elliot's hacking ability and Vera's criminal enterprise. Both are able to exert their will over the world even from a remote location, albeit in different ways.
I love the way it comes back in season 4 too, how Elliot overcoming everything he has, sees vera for what he is: a glorified and mythologized landlord.
When the main character is incompetent, the show has lazy writing.

I wish we had a few more moments like that without switching actors.
Right there at the end when he finds Shayla's body, the look he gives at the end, made me think he'd make a great villain. He looks ready to snap and rage right there.
He does play a villain in a lot of movies to be fair it's done well, because he keeps his cool but you can tell he's mad.
Even Whiterose acknowledges Elliot's rage and how it drives him.

The scenes where Elliot conversationally destroys a bit character are always some of the best scenes. Not only Rami's acting ability, but the acting capability the secondary character panicking as they see their lives falling apart within minutes and trying to figure out how to possibly salvage it.

As a stone ager I can tell, that once upon a time, when we fought for the Great Pod, we hat this fellow named Urg who did a great job and convinced the foe to leave, just by saying the right words. Reminds me of this.

Whenever I see people on the internet or my friends coming up with their Top 10 Best TV Dramas of All Time or whatever, it surprises me when they don't put this show anywhere. When they do their lists they usually say shows like Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and so on. And by the time they finish, I'm like "Yo, you gotta put Mr. Robot in there!"
4 out of 5 times they say "I've never heard of it".
To which I reply, "Well then you need to *watch* it...and then *redo your list.* "

You have to purchase the seasons to watch it on Google TV, but you can watch every season of Mr Robot on Prime Video if you have an Amazon Prime account. So unless you wanna pay around $15 for every season, I'd suggest going with the second choice and watch it on Prime.

Just showing that he sniffed the hardware ID from the laptop and was entering that same number with a following port address, by hand, it's accurate and it fits the CHARACTER.
Like Elliot says, he doesn't make mistakes. Copy/Paste can make mistakes, so he directly enters everything because he trusts himself more than the clipboard.

This scene was so tense. Why? Cause with how nuts mr. robot can be, there was a REAL fear hed actually shoot elliott. other shows cant do that to you.
That was actually quite terrifying as doors opened and vicious inmates were escaping
Elliot is having this horrible realization, meanwhile in the background plays out the unrelated tableau of late-to-the-escape prisoners trying to get out through the fence as officers try to stop them.
This is the start of a beautiful relationship.

Leaving that two bodies there on the scene is one of the small plotholes in this show. Bodies would connect the escape with Vera and Elliot because he visited Vera in jail that same morning. still a great scene tho..

Not necessarily. They would have Veras brother and could look at it as his brother tried to break him out and then things went sideways.
The police have no evidence for direct connection between Vera and Shayla as there would be no DNA in the vehicle from Vera. There may be trace dna from Elliot in the vehicle but that’s a big if, and they don’t have any record of the connection between the homicide of shayla and the prison break. It’s also likely they may not even be able to identify shaylas body in the vehicle.
There’s also no indication that the prison has evidence of elliot meeting Vera. You could assume that they may have record of Elliots ID, however he has previous given false aliases to authorities and he could cover the tracks by scrubbing and computer records or audio recording of their meeting in prison.
Also, fingerprints.

Fingerprints, visitor logs, all things that are CONNECTED and EDITABLE in databases for certain Elliot-like people. At this point in the show we'd already seen him effortlessly change hospital medical records and test results. For all we know, the FBI runs Elliot's prints and it comes back in the database to Hitler, or hundreds of people, or matches to no one and never will. Imagine setting your fingerprints in the national database as someone you're targeting, and then you go on a criminal spree leaving those prints behind all over the place.

There are a few scenes where we see Rami as Mr. Robot like with Tyrell in Coney Island. I don’t think that was Mr. Robot talking to Vers’a bro though, he was lacking Mr. Robot’s snark.
Zach I think we do see it. Season 2 episode 12 opening, when Elliot talks with Tyrell. It actually is Mr Robot. Look at his mannerisms and the way he speaks. He behaves like Christian Slater.

Rewatching this season for probably like 5th time now and it still confuses me why Issac needed to die.
Like ok maybe it was his idea to put all the coded messages from their business on social media…but Vera ultimately signed off on that practice…

That’s a reasonable question, but Isaac needed to die because he was planning on killing Vera and taking over the operation for himself. Vera killed him out of self defense.
How come Elliot never mentions Shayla after this episode?...In the next season shes never referenced or mentioned...seems a bit strange considering the solid relation Elliot has with her.
Well even when his mother died, he barely mentioned her. Same with Angela. It’s just his way of coping. If he doesn’t mention them, he isn’t thinking about it and it won’t affect him. He just shuts them down in his brain.

To be effective at Bluesnarfing as depicted within this scene. The operator must be within I believe 30 Meters. Someone correct me if my assessment is incorrect. Bluesnarfing happened to me back in August 2020 on a Sunday evening @ The Deming and I was located on the 8th Floor. The BS operator could not be in range from the Alley below so he illegally accessed the building which is in the shape of a U. I could see him going up and down stairs from my window at the top of the U and I could see him via the elevator lobby windows and had never seen him before and was almost sure he did not live @ The Big D. He had his Smart Phone out the entire experience and we actually made eye contact for around 5 to 6 seconds and the he was gone and then I realized my PC had been Zapped.
