Turkey earthquake: What help can Canada provide?

- The Turkish government is asking for help from Canada and other countries after a powerful earthquake destroyed hundreds of buildings and left thousands of people dead in both Turkey and Syria.
The first 24 to 48 hours are critical to saving the lives of those trapped in the rubble left from the magnitude 7.8 quake.
Mercedes Stephenson looks at the aid Turkey is asking for, what Canada can provide and if they are able to grant the request.

@@catrinastars US ally is already occupying part of Syria while stealing its oil. Maybe they can start helping by not stealing any more oil and lifting sanctions so more aid can get to them.

@@catrinastars Do some research. Governments and media lie. Independent reporters will provide a completely different story and will back it up with proof. You'd be surprised what really happened (and is happening) there and who supported and backed ISIS. Remember WMD? That wasn't a one off. Just as there were no WMD, there was no evidence Assad gassed his people either but that will never be reported. As for Syria being able to get its oil, in fact it is the Syrian people who are extracting the oil while it is being looted by US troops along with Syria's wheat. Now is as good a time as any for those US troops to either help the Syrian people or gtfo.

How about, let Canadians themselves donate if they choose to do so. And, as always, some will. As to spending our tax dollars on it? How about no. We are already debt ridden and struggling as a nation and as individuals. Let the people decide what they want to donate and if they want to.

Think of the situation like this... Our arteries are bleeding, now we can run over yo our friend who trapped under a heavy rock and hopefully save him before we pass away OR We can fix ourselves up first so we are stronger and aren't at risk of not being able to properly help out.
