ever had that moment where a song's so hype that you feel like you're gonna cry of excitement if you're not doing something equally as hype like a carry or training? yeah, i just had that moment. my arms are now sore
keep that fire burning. keep levelling up that drive and focus and make that your baseline. Going above and beyond your current limitations is the sole reason of life and evolution.
Me at 0:00 - "This song is almost 9 minutes? Eh I'll listen to a little bit of it, give it a shot" Me by the end of the video - "C TO THE O TO THE M-B-O"
Man, I listened to this music track on repeat for 3 hours when I made a character for a TTRPG. For an online game of D&D. There is a module referred to as Eberron. Which is a fantasy 1920s/30s. I made a character that a street Brawler based entirely on TJ Combo and Cody from SF. The build was a Half Orc Monk. Since Orcs have an ability called Relentless Endurance. If the character's HP hits 0, they can ignore the damage and reset to 1 HP. My character was an upstart boxer that was used to fix fights in a city. When the adventure took off, my character Brody somehow became the Tank for the party. When Brody learned that the gambling of the matches he helped fix were being used to fund a demonic cult, Brody started to ignore the bribes. The campaign was set in 1 city, and around the mid point of the campaign. Brody was set up to be humiliated by a Minotaur Boxer. Essentially Goro from MK level of intimidating. The party was in the audience as they watched Brody get his shit kicked in. When Brody was knocked to 0 HP, he got back up and then tried to asked for more punishment. With the cheers of Brody's party teammates, due to the IRL shouting of the players gave Brody Temporary HP for one more round in the ring. The Minotaur was not a demon worshipper but had more to lose if he lost. So Brody, after a barrage of punches. Brody took one punch and laid on the ground. He lost but the Minotaur is convinced Brody faked it. After the fight and getting the losing pool. The Minotaur personally congratulated Brody, by telling the party the name of the bet fixers names and locations. The future session ended when the Minotaur came back at the end of the campaign. After sharing a kindred conversations. The last scene of Brody was like from Rocky and Apollo Creed. Brody was later referenced by the Dungeon Master. The Half Orc started a gym and is offering mentorship for disenfranchised youths.
You too keep coming back to listen to this almost daily... And then you'll leave it, and then you will eventually return and listen to it again. Back to raise indeed.
Over 10 years later, this is STILL the best workout song of all time. Best music from KI, one of the best in fighting game history! Omega and Mick, you created the anthem of the FGC!
This song is still as powerful and motivational as the day it dropped. Everyone's theme between Mick and others hit great, but this still feels like the one that makes me cheer TJ on against all odds, most deeply the ones outside the contest. Fantastic work to this day, Mick and Omega!
Top three [subjectively personal] black video game characters: 3: Jax 2: Sgt. Avery Johnson 1: TJ Combo Seriously, this song is amazing. This is definitely TJ's theme, no doubt.
Kendell Cifuentes Joestar Balrog hits harder, yes. But he’s way more sluggish and less calculated in his attacks. TJ might be more fragile but he’s speedy and can also pack quite the punch. Since Balrog can’t possibly hope to predict the every move of an Instinct-activated TJ Combo, I believe it is very reasonable to assume that TJ could win. It would be akin to a David v. Goliath matchup; it may seem like an uphill battle at first, but victory is nevertheless achievable. And also, never underestimate the American spirit. TJ will never surrender; you’d have to kill him, utterly.
Killer Instinct needs a SERIOUS COMEBACK!! 2023 is definitely the year for fighting games! Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat 1, Tekken 8... Man could you imagine if Killer Instinct was a part of this lineup?? This track forever goes hard! #KeepKIAlive
This song is the only one that can make me fight through my fears and keep going. Every time I feel sad or depressed I put this on and gets me up as soon as the cassette sound starts. Thanks Mick and Omega Sparx for this glorious song.
So many parts are fire...but for me, best stretch is that build up from 7:07 to the hype from about 7:40 to 8:18. This whole track is a damn banger, and has always been one of my favorite pieces of Mick's. Sparx went off!
Also fun fact: in the Killer instinct 2013 reboot TJ combo was made into both a Boxer and MMA fighter. While in the old games he was boxing with dirty moves thrown in AKA dirty boxing. I'm glad they made the change because this song and TJ Combo can inspire both boxers and MMA fighters to be the best.
I was playing a marvel themed table top rpg and my dude was this super strong boxer. Not hulk strong but like a step down from juggernaut. Any way our team ran into thanos and I had to hold the line against him while the rest of my team went to get back up. The dice were on my side and he COULD NOT HIT ME! So i kept juking and weaving and actually managed to KO fucking thanos. By like the third turn of me NOT dying I started playing this on my phone lol
Not only is this flow sick, the boxing references are clean and topical. As a big boxing fan, I was like "dude did he just reference Ali vs. Foreman" which makes me hella hype. Also the cross counter reference "throwin my right cross over your weak jabs" is tight as hell. Love it.
Fun fact for Both Classic and Reboot TJ: For Classic: TJ kept the cybernetic arms in KI 1 and 2 to show unbelievable strength to get revenge on Ultratech. For Reboot: After TJ beat the very first Fulgore version Ultra tech frame TJ cheating and was banned from boxing. AGAIN. But in this renewed timeline, TJ Combo will not go out like this, so he rip and I mean FREAKING his cybernetic arms out like Jax, got his arms ripped off by Goro, but this time he rip off his own. Unfortunately unlike Jax from Mortal Kombat, he got a very special serum by Ultra tech that give him a minor instant healing factor and completely regenerate his arms (but still has scars, but in a cool way), plus; he has very special power-up: called Berserker mode or for the Instinct named Glory Days that gives incredible speed and agility boost and also enchanced all of his attacks. (Also it gives out a little bit of strength and durability.). Now showing his new true human strength, skill, powers and abilities without his cybernetic arms, he is ready with the KI Alliance to get ready on Ultratech and stop the forces of Gargos. Results: Now, unlike Killer Instinct 1 and 2 TJ, who only shows brute strength with his cybernetic arms. Reboot TJ (in my opinion) is far better than 1 and 2, cause he rip them off to show true human strength without them and he his a very special serum that give him so much more, plus he beat Reboot upgraded version of Riptor and reboot upgraded version of Fulgore Mk.ll without cybernetic arms to a pulp. And only in the reboot timeline, TJ is not just a boxer only knows brute force like Balorg from Street Fighter, but is BOTH a Out-Boxing Boxer and a Mixed Martial arts fighter with not only strength, but with skills, strategy, and new powers and abilities. And one final reason is that TJ has a much better version of his OST.
I love the Orchid high note singers in the background, fuckin genius. Not to mention putting the original KI theme in every single theme, good shit mate, true inspiration.
And now for the challenger... A former heavyweight champion who 's here to prove he can beat the best of the best even without awesome metal arms! He is TJ COMBOOOOO!
I'm not even going to lie-- as soon as I hear that KI leitmotif under the bridge, I tear up a little because nostalgia is pounding my goddamn face in at that point. Thank you, Mick, for taking my childhood and making it fucking *_killer._*

ever had that moment where a song's so hype that you feel like you're gonna cry of excitement if you're not doing something equally as hype like a carry or training? yeah, i just had that moment. my arms are now sore
keep that fire burning. keep levelling up that drive and focus and make that your baseline. Going above and beyond your current limitations is the sole reason of life and evolution.
"Mick,we need a song to make everyone feel like fucking badass, terminator level"
Mick: Hold my beer
Mick: You wanna see me make a badass theme?
Also Mick: You wanna see me do it again?
Me at 0:00 - "This song is almost 9 minutes? Eh I'll listen to a little bit of it, give it a shot"
Me by the end of the video - "C TO THE O TO THE M-B-O"
That’s absolutely badass. I love it when DM’s reference stuff from past games.
4:13 is some inspirational stuff, man. Make a grown man cry.
This song is pure adrenaline hype! Especially love the transition at 7:43 when it kicks into the TJ's KI Gold theme!
Had to come back to this track since KI is coming back in a big way
FIGHT ON FOREVER!!!
Us to Mick: “Do you really buy into your own hype that much?”
Mick: “I AM THE HYPE!”
Nice shirt!
This song is just absolute Hype wrapped into a huge shell of Hell Yeah.
this exactly
your profile picture makes me confused.

ThePennilessGamer
Cool.
I guess.
Prince Coda Leviathan you said it here bro.
“Come on tiny! Just you and me!”
“Bring it on a$$hole!”
-Balrog and TJ Combo exchanging banters
The death battle was amazing
They won't stop! How long can this go!?
If music is the language of the soul, this song says "I am going to punch EVERYTHING in the face!"
*****
If you want to take his spot, you better. He put the game on lock and his reign won't stop.
This is the musical equivalent of the Dempsey roll.
It's you wanna take my you better train to box
I mean take my spot
Torcularis punch everything in the face, in the face.
TJ Combo: Man you think you got what it takes to beat the champ!?
Balrog: (laughs) You won't even make it to Round 2 wimp.
Ref: ROUND 1
FIGHT
@@ilimuninati4929 don't know why I read that like the MK ref
@@energyhammer2342 but you did
This song is still as powerful and motivational as the day it dropped. Everyone's theme between Mick and others hit great, but this still feels like the one that makes me cheer TJ on against all odds, most deeply the ones outside the contest. Fantastic work to this day, Mick and Omega!
Gym anthem. 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for the love
Thanks for blessing us with the lyrics fam.
RandomBlackGamer ya!
RandomBlackGamer you can say this again.
Gym theme indeed. Especially when you need extra motivation.
6:40. Hypest breakdown in any modern fighter. Period.
Thanks for loving the song. Mick is a genius. Check out my new gaming album at GameBreakers.bandcamp.com
agreed,
Top three [subjectively personal] black video game characters:
3: Jax
2: Sgt. Avery Johnson
1: TJ Combo
Seriously, this song is amazing. This is definitely TJ's theme, no doubt.
*TJ Combo's Comeback Theme!*
TJ Combo: I ain't *DONE!!*
Balrog: Wait, what?
Yes Death Battle
Literally, One punch of Balrog kills TJ.
That's fight are fake.

Someone’s in denial.
@@EnderTitan ¿Por qué estaria en negación? 🤔
Kendell Cifuentes Joestar
Balrog hits harder, yes. TJ will never surrender; you’d have to kill him, utterly.
people always remember Mick for his work in Doom, but DAMN this is a criminaly overlooked song
Its happening!!!! 10 anniversary update just announced!
Good God... There's no Mick Gordon / KI song I can't leave on repeat for hours at a time.
Just noticed that Ali Edwards made the background vocals here. She's also the lead singer of the DMC5 main theme. Damn she seems to love demonic stuff
Ali Edwards, huh? Let's hear what that sounds like!
This song is the only one that can make me fight through my fears and keep going. Every time I feel sad or depressed I put this on and gets me up as soon as the cassette sound starts. Thanks Mick and Omega Sparx for this glorious song.
I don't even played any of the KI games, but I can't stop listening to this
Hey Mick, the drop into "feel the power" is amazing, brings back so many memories. Thanks for that one bro!
So many parts are fire...but for me, best stretch is that build up from 7:07 to the hype from about 7:40 to 8:18. This whole track is a damn banger, and has always been one of my favorite pieces of Mick's. Sparx went off!
I agree 200%
Also fun fact: in the Killer instinct 2013 reboot TJ combo was made into both a Boxer and MMA fighter. While in the old games he was boxing with dirty moves thrown in AKA dirty boxing. I'm glad they made the change because this song and TJ Combo can inspire both boxers and MMA fighters to be the best.
When they add the little bit of the Killer Instinct (1994) theme in at 4:21 , I genuinely got a nostalgic tingle running down my back.
TJ Combo’s the best. He even gets the greatest theme song.
Underrated comment. Sick luck!
@Colleywoodstudios -- awesome story. Were you using Outboxing or Swarming tricks?
I really wanna see that now that I think about it
@@funnyvalentine5576 me too
Absolutely nuts
I love the references to TJ's classic themes. This theme didn't need to go so hard, but I'm so happy it did!
Not only is this flow sick, the boxing references are clean and topical. As a big boxing fan, I was like "dude did he just reference Ali vs. Foreman" which makes me hella hype. Also the cross counter reference "throwin my right cross over your weak jabs" is tight as hell. Love it.
WE'RE GETTING AN UPDATE AFTER 5 YEARS, SUPPORT IS BACK
Fun fact for Both Classic and Reboot TJ:
For Classic: TJ kept the cybernetic arms in KI 1 and 2 to show unbelievable strength to get revenge on Ultratech.
Shooting star Dragon Death Battle!
That's where I first heard this. It was a kickass battle too
I'm not even going to lie-- as soon as I hear that KI leitmotif under the bridge, I tear up a little because nostalgia is pounding my goddamn face in at that point. Thank you, Mick, for taking my childhood and making it fucking *_killer._*
Yo these new thumbnails go crazy. Much love to Mick and everyone else involved in KI's killer soundrack! #BringBackKI
THE BEST track in the game, hands down. Been waiting for the official cut of this one. Mick does not disappoint.
Doomneto Definitely. I'd love to see what he does for Kim Wu.
4:21 that 8-bit KI theme in the background is just _MMMMM_
I love this OST so much.
6:14 is by far the best part of this song. Just pure ear candy.
Mick Gordon... please compose my entire fucking life!!!!!!
BAMF
Claro que si campeona!!
Pretty sure this is it
Mine would be composed of sad piano and laugh tracks
This song will never stop being incredible.
This song: The champion returning to defend his title.
"Knock You Out" from Street Fighter 3: The up-and-coming challenger out to prove himself.
Great, now every time I see a boxer match (video game, sports, anime, cartoon, tv show, movie, or just a plain record worldstar street fight) this song is gonna pop up in my head
megalo box immediately comes to mind.
I don't think I've ever vibed to a song *this hard* ! How is every single note on absolute point ?! GOD THIS IS SO GOOD ! Makes me feel like I could run a mile !
"Come on tiny, just you and me!"
"Bring it on asshole!"
They won't stop! How long can this go!?
*This song hits differently during Quarantine*
This is the result of glitch hop and old-school rap getting frisky.
I like it.
I love how the lyrics mention actual boxing and kickboxing moves like the clinch and haymakers
this song is how i discover omega sparx and im now headbanging to his song, thank you for this hype and badass music mick and omega!
If there is a Killer Instinct tournament in a big major geek con such as NYCC or SDCC, WHY DON'T WE HAVE A LIVE PERFORMANCE OF ALL THE THEMES OF KILLER INSTINCT MICK?! Then, we have this song. Let us see how Omega Sparx takes this song to a concert before and after a Killer Instinct tournament?!
B.T.C. Oh man, I'd love to! I know Omega would be up for it, he'd kill it!
Mick Gordon make it happen at evo
B.T.C. I'm not one for crowdfunding, but I would kickstart the shit out of that.
Do it at evo 2015 please mick please
Mick Gordon BRUH I'd die. I would so fly in from Canada for that!
Who saw the Death Battle match between TJ Combo and Balrog from Street Fighter?
That fight was perfectly choreographed with this song.
7:42 FEEL THE POWER! BABY!

Not a big rap guy but godDAMN does this song SLAP
I discovered this song this month, it is very motivating to train!
It's great right? Also, do you have a punching bag?
I'm not gonna lie. I came here to get an idea of Balrog vs. TJ Combo's main song, but I stayed because this is damn catchy and upbeat.
Really glad this game's confirmed for pc so I can finally play it.
Benny Trinh And when you do. Fun times++
Dude!!!! Are you serious. Killer Instinct in 4K!!!!!
Benny Trinh is it on PS4?
Jonah Logan no only on XBOX 1 due to Microsoft owning Rare the guys who make Killer Instinct.
