I agree I have had both as well and they have both been very impressive for the money. I keep thinking I'm going to sell this one but I don't think it's going to actually happen because I enjoy riding it. I hope you like the video, thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.

Thanks for taking us along for the ride, I been thinking about getting one and just about convinced it would be perfect for my little adventures out here in the desert 😎👍
For the money you cant go wrong. I have had a ton of fun on this one so far. All the smiles are worth the price of this bike. I hope you get one. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel.
I agree . Definitely need s more aggressive meats if your gonna ride in dirt . Got mine 3 weeks ago , 2nd day I had it running , I dropped it in some loose stuff on my gravel driveway . Broke the left mirror attachment off the clutch perch assembly . Ooops .... New ones on order . JB weld didn't hold, Lol .... otherwise , a great , superfun bike for the money . Runs like a champ so far, time will tell on longevity.... Have fun , safe riding , like the content.....
So far I've been pretty impressed with this bike, like you said, time will tell. I guess the good news is there's extra parts out there to be ordered LOL, Thanks so much for watching and supporting my channel.
Thank you for not comparing the bike to Honda or Yamaha ect. If we could afford a Japanese bike we would buy one, and used ones are usually trashed for the same dollars.. Drives me nuts when people compare Hilti or Miller tools that have a thousand + dollar difference with Harbor Freight.
Yes I have been getting a lot of those kinds of comments were people are like this is not as good as a Yamaha 250, no kidding Like I did not know that... LOL. You get ti. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel.
Love the dirt riding!!! Looks like Colorado where I ride. Ya them tires are like a half road half off-road tires. My 2017 hawk came with the nobby tires good for the dirt but the road it feels slippy on the turns. Awesome video!!! 😎👍
Yes I wish these TLX bikes had the knobby tires that the regular first gen hawk had. I'm going to change them out for something a little more aggressive, we will see. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.

Thank you Hanz for the video, great quality. I've been eyeing one of these for about 2 weeks and I'm almost in the process of buying one. I do have a couple of questions though, 1. Is the ride comfortable for a 30min/15 mile commute? 2. If by any chance I was thinking of adding a couple of mods would it hold up? 3. Would you recommend this as a good beginner bike?(want to get my wife into bikes)
Thanks Jc, Yes the ride is very comfortable for this kind of bike. I think this bike can definitely take some mods, I have not done any but the bike is good stock. This is a great bike for beginners not to much power but still fun to rip around town. Let me know if you have anymore questions, thanks for watching and supporting my channel.
I took mine riding and hit a bump and it broke the back plastic off so I would recommend taking off mirrors and rear taillight holder and then you won’t break them which saves about 250$
Hanz: Thank you so much for the videos on all the different bikes that you've purchased and shown us! I have really enjoyed your channel! I have a question about the Hawk DLX. How low do you think you managed to get the seat height by adjusting the rear shock? I know it starts out at around 35 inches. What do you think you got it down to, and is it now more comfortable for your 5 foot 7 inch height? By the way, what is your inseam measurement? I feel like I know you well enough now to be able to ask that question! Lol! Thanks again Hanz, and Happy Trails!
Thank you so much it's comments like yours that make my day. I'm glad you like the videos. The actual seat height does not change it is just when you sit on the bike it will have less tension so the seat will sit lower once you're on the bike. I have heard of a lot of guys taking the seat in and having the foam cut to get the seat height lower. I did not do that because the adjustment on the shocks seem to work well enough for me. It is kind of a tall bike but you have lots of clearance for riding off-road. If you truly want to see a lower that is probably the best option. Thanks again for watching.
When you were going up that hill was it struggling with power or just traction due to the tires? Thank I am thinking about getting one but I don't know if I want efi or carb. I live in NM so I'm around 5600 feet above altitude and that's not even taking in if I go ride in the mountains. The DA is around 5 to 8k. I have never ridden before so this is why I am considering one. I have a can am maverick x3 rc turbo r if I want to go fast in the dirt. So efi or carb?
When I was going up that hill it was definitely not a lack of power it was a lack of traction. I was trying to keep the RPMs above 2000 but the lack of a good tire in the shell rock I was on did not make a good combo for this bike. No big deal I just replace the rear tire with a knobby tire and I will be good to go next time. If I had it to do over again because I have had one of each of these bikes I would buy the DLX again without a doubt. The carbureted one worked pretty good but I had to fuss with the carburetor and tuning a bunch to get it right ua-cam.com/video/ojzfl3XTjZ0/v-deo.html Thanks for watching and supporting my channel.
I have had both and the carbureted version was no faster than the fuel injected version. The fuel injected version was way easier to start and keep running in any condition whether it's really cold or really hot it will start an idol so I can warm up. I personally like the suspension better on the DLX and I like having the fuel injection. In my eyes after owning both bikes I would say it's worth it to have spent the extra money on the DLX. Thank you so much for watching and happy new year!
You do not need a motorcycle license for this bike if you are not riding on the road. If you are riding on the street you will definitely need a license plate Insurance and a drivers license. Hopefully this is helpful and thank you for watching.
Yes you will need a motorcycle license for the 250cc. I think the cutoff is under 100cc in Oregon where I live. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.
Great farm bike, I have no interest in time trials. Starts, runs, good gearing and plenty of power, cheap, road legal, easy to maintain. What do you compare it to?
@@tedgunderson67 I just don't like the hawk cause it's a cheap shitty (slow and not powerful) bike I know a lot of people like them. It's really small too and I don't understand why. I'd rather go with a used honda if i didnt have a lot of money. I assumed the hawk would need a ton of maintenance but I guess not. I don't like weird brands. Honda all the way I dont care if it's expensive I invest my money in good shit that will last. If the hawk lasts a long time that's good and it's surprising but still slow and not powerful the honda fatcat was better than that thing and it was 1700$ back then. I'm basically a hawk hater.
Own two hawks. Carburetor version and Fuel injection. Love the sound of the DLX . And the looks. Decent bikes Hawks.
