Man, I couldn't even imagine having bosses like this. They are literally spending thousands to get him in shape with top tier nutritionists, personal training ect. Best bosses ever!
Yeah i'm sure they were doing it with the intent of helping Nadav, not just for the sake of content... You either die with your jeans high and tight, or live long enough to watch them become low and loose ✊🏾😔
Good for you dude, hit some weights too, it only helps and theres a reason olympian runners have a lifting program. Helps with potential joint injuries.
I ran the Houston Marathon back in 2000. It's a grind doing the training but so gratifying when you finish. BTW, at mile 20 you will "hit the wall" to me, it's a sensation of running in quicksand. Have fun!
Yep, havent ran more than a half myself but my mother who still runs marathons in her 50’s says she only really trains for 20-22 miles anyway because at that point its all mental stopping you!
20 is about where I stopped nattually I always worked out never ran that much and just decided to and did 20 miles the other day my first time running in awhile just cause how my brain works I wanted to stop early so I made myself go longer than belief
With respect, what you said is not true completely, the wall is your body running out of fuel to fast to tap into fat stores for energy, slower runners never hit the wall, because their pace is slow enough for their body to adjust and use different energy. Long distance runners use different styles of running to conserve energy. And before you say anything, a marathon is classed as long distance running. Cliff young proved this and there is a style of running named after him because of this, and now many runners use this technique, it's called the Young shuffle, it uses almost no energy in comparison and is slow enough that you never hit the wall, he ran consecutive days from before dawn to after dark for over 5 days for total of almost 600 miles from Sidney to melbourne at 61 years old having never run a marathon before. That's over a marathon a day for 5 days straight and a half marathon on the sixth day, kind of puts it in perspective doesn't it, he was 61 when he did this, so talk about that wall and taunt a new runner with it if it makes you feel better, that's what those other guys did to cliff, and he beat them all, kinda makes you a loser like them when you do it
I think getting him to qualify for the nyc marathon is gonna be more difficult than they think. They might just have to make him run one by himself lol
He wont have to qualify, they will pay some kind of pricey fee. Lots of people do it. Also alot of people just run for a charity and you get in regardless of times.
I wanna see his first run where the pain is real in the chest and side guts. Bet he quits. After 2 months he will be able to do at least 6.5mph keeping his hr around 140 for miles. It's just getting there
The only thing that worries me is they seem to not understand that regardless of finishing time, he won't able to complete 26.2 miles non-stop running. He's definitely walking segments, even miles at the marathon! He's going to cramp out, he's going to get blisters, probably some chafing. All of this, plus being his first Marathon, he's going to walk. I think the healthier approach is to finish the Marathon at the given time limit by the NYC Marathon.
Just do zone 2 cardio. Do pace you feel like you can do all day and can still hold a conversation. Proper running shoes, stretches, strength training in the legs, and do a stationary bike if you feel sore sore you can still get your daily cardio in
Have you ever ran a marathon? The fact they think hes going to in 3 months training is clueless, especially considering he is terrified and has 0 confidence and is out of shape. He will bail or not finish the race.
You got it buddy! I'm also one to look at the big picture and the cumulation of tasks ahead of me and feel daunted into not acting at all. If you look at only one single task at a time (one meal, one workout, one good night's rest) you will absolutely get there
I remember doing 9 miles and my legs turning into a twitching mess. You need to be able to do half marathons comfortably.before.going for the marathon.
@@JO-tl3ue I would hope so but I don’t think they will, they want to be taken seriously and people compete not just all year but sometimes for like a decade to try and get a spot. Seeing some fat J running down the street will be obvious he shouldn’t be allowed there and ain’t gonna look good for the organizers.
Oye Tom, If you can get David Goggins to train Nadav not only will that benefit him but it'll make for a killer episode. Like so Tom and Christina can see

Its professionally called, the young shuffle. Many many long distance runners use it. It was invented by a australian man named cliff young who ran from sidney to i think melbourne, at like 40 or more years old having never ran a marathon before. It doesnt even look like youre running, just shuffling your feet, they barely leave the ground
There should be multiple possible “Rewards” based upon Nadav’s time, so the rewards are in tiers corresponding to his time and the expected pace of different levels of runners. See how much he wants it. But definitely a minimum time he has to hit
Want to post about a half-marathon tune-up event. Prairie Fire Marathon on October 8 in beautiful, scenic, and flat Wichita! You can do a half marathon or full and there's no qualification (unlike the NY marathon which you won't be able to run in).
Dude everyone would die for a chance like this. I bet tom puts on the best people for training and diet planning etc. I would kill for a chance like this.
_Please,_ don't forget to plan for after the marathon too! Betcha he's gonna need an IV drip with loads of antioxidants, vitamins, potassium, sodium & Pedialyte. Might also wanna have him setup with a few gallons of Icy-hot, a few bags of ice & extra strength pain killers too. Not just the boring "over the counter" ones either. I mean come on guys, use your connections & hook the man UP with a really good time after his battle in NYC! 🍀🤞 😂😂😂😂
Obviously Nadav agreed to this off camera first so I think he deserves a real level of respect for accepting this challenge. This won't be easy for him and I hope the training alone inspires him to follow in Toms footsteps. #TEAM_NADAV!
You already know we’re all rooting for you Nadav. Just think about how amazing it’ll feel like having a crowd of Hasidic Jews cheering for you at the finish line
You need to get Diamond Dallas Paige on the pod and then have him join Nadav's prep team with some DDP Yoga. Great for his back and joints and flexibility, will up his cardiovascular health big time and help a lot in prepping for a marathon run.
My brother is in wresting entertainment AIWF (amature stuff), and he also did something like 16 years in the military. His back is busted. I also suggested DDP to him based on their common interest and the benefits of healing.

Same dude, if Nadav is doing this??? We can all do better in different ways. The time is now brothers
