He absolutely rips
Saw Derek live with Suffocation in Tampa, FL during the Death to All tour. Watching him play that bass nailed to the floor was absolutely insane! Pure shred!

So professional. Suffocation are legends. Derek is one of the most engaging bassists to watch live.

Boyer has been at the top of his game since the very beginning. Hands down one of the greatest.
What I like about this version of the video, is that it’s edited differently. So we saw how we transitioned from Terrance into Derek, and we see how he got talking about the bass.
We're doing our best to provide additional value to the video with these new uploads. Since the old episodes of Gear Masters featured multiple members of the band, while the new ones feature only one member. We can't film new episodes because of the pandemic, this was a way for us to continue to put out quality content and give some additional insights. Glad you're enjoying the uploads!
