As a kid, I actually liked the second season. I remember the episode with the lizard people (where only Buck could see thru their human guises) I think that's where V got their idea
It was a pity that we didn't get to find out whether Hawk ever found other Bird People colonies in the Galaxy or beyond. Likewise I didn't realize at the time that the actress playing Hawk's wife was in Star Trek: the Mirror Universe episode.😎🖖
I totally disagree it was disappointing. I liked it more than season 1 Season one was filled with silly repetitive themes about Rogers having to save pretty women week after week, with Wilma getting slightly jealous. It was shallow and predictable. Hell, Buck was even on auction in one episode. There were some really good ones, like Space Vampires, but overall it was always about showing off the handsome Buck rogers. Even Princess Ardarla was always trying to get him bed. Season 2 got rid of all that sappy shit and had some really good stories. The SATYR was excellent, and the time of Hawk was the best 2 hour episode in both seasons. I guess if you wanted to see the sappy whit then you did not like season 2. Season 2 was more like Star Trek with Rogers and Wilma out on a specific mission. I thought it was a very good concept
@@alexhenderson1312 I remember that Star Trek episode. Ironically, There is a similar episode in Season 2 where Buck and the crew go back to an alternate Searcher and everyone is acting evil as well. Very similar idea. The entire second season has a star trek feel. In many ways, Hawk's friendship and professional re;relationship with Buck is similar to Spock and Kirk's relationship. I loved season 2. Not sure why the hate on season 2.
This is such a gift, thank you. He’s a class act. With a long and varied career, it must seem surreal to talk about what ended up being a short job so many years ago, as he said. I’m trying to imagine thousands of people asking me about something I did 40 years ago, especially seeing how much it means to them, and responding as respectfully and thoughtfully as Thom. Hawk was truly a special character. He was intimidating, lost, strong, heartbroken, fierce, touching... It’s hard to believe his scenes with Cori (sp?) were so few, because their love was searing. She was his anchor to sanity. She lived through him afterward. If any character from that age of sci-fi deserved more time and development, it would be Hawk. I’d love to see him revisited or reimagined today. Ha. Brenner’s walk with the thrust of the pelvis. That’s awesome.
Thom had some great performances, and seems like a really likable fellow in real life. His character of Hawk in Buck Rogers was my favorite character outside of Buck Rogers himself, and he really improved the series. I liked him in "Space Raiders" as well. Thanks for sharing this video.
I don't care what was said or what people think. Thom, YOU will always be Number One for me. Blessed Be, and May the Great Lady take care of you and yours.
Thom seems like a really nice guy. He does a really good job focusing his attention with the people at this panel. The noise and talking in the background can be very distracting. I've went to cons before where some of the panels where located next to areas of loud activity. I thought he was really good as Hawk.
Its probably due to market stalls and shoppers sharing the same stadium space where Thom was speaking, and the mic of the person recording is picking up the cross-noise. I attended a Q&A with Lou Ferrigno a few years back and it was a similar set-up.
I loved his character in buck Rogers, great actor, shame i only remember him in that series but I'm sure I've seen him in other films, must be him without the feathers lol
Was Hawk's costume influenced by Brian Eno in any way? I've wondered that for a lot of years, now, and ... I don't recall Hawk having a New York accent.
Just finished watching this - damn, I love this guy. He so well-spoken and still pretty sexy, IMO. I loved him when I was 12 too - laugh. Yeah, I'm glad I wasn't there because I probably would've yelled at everyone to shut up. But maybe all that background talking noise is from a different part of the room or something?
The Q&A that was at the hotel had the dealers room that was included where the guest was talking...... I have more videos that I will be posting soon, I have Richard LaParmentier who was the actor who played the reporter in Superman II and also famous for his role as the Admiral in Star Wars who got choked by Darth Vader.........
Thom was THE highlight of the otherwise disappointing season 2. So glad he and his awesome ship were in it!

Oh my god, I loved Hawk to death!! Remember the second season vivdly...
He was the best as Carlo Hesser on One Life to Live.
I loved him as Carlo Hessare from one life to live
Oh Yeah!!!!!
He does incredible voice work on Murder Mysteries from Neil Gaiman's Harper Audio series. Absolutely perfect casting, he plays Lucifer.

What a lovely man and a great and very interesting talk. Shame it couldn't have lasted longer
He is an amazing actor. I loved him on everything including One Life to Live. ❤️
Hawk actually dug his ship's talons into buck's fighter, not the Searcher. Searcher would have been too big.
Correct
I would know him anywhere!
Him, Gil, and Erin made for a great team. The executives did not know what they were doing by changing it in the second season.
Gotta love his voice.
he was fantastic in the 1985 film wizards of the lost kingdom
he is literally the only good thing in that movie
He was also in Deathstalkers and the Warriors from Hell which is one of my favorite MST3K movies!
I will always fucking love you, Hawk!
Thom as Hawk really didn't have much of a part, he would mostly say, "I'm going on patrol."
He was so great looking.
Thanks for uploading! :)
Holy shit, he looks completely different these days
So does Gil gerard. Its called age. We all get there.
Looked up that movie with Yul Brynner. It’s called King of the Sun- 1963. eBay has the DVD of it cheap.😉
Intro was a little long, but the interview was great. Too bad there were so many people talking in the room while he was speaking. How rude...

Knowledgeable person

Bird guy . . . lol 😝
