The F84W is really a true hidden gem. It has that JDM coolness about it and it’s not popular enough to really be “ruined”. The fact that most people wearing this are just ordinary people in Japan kind of adds to the cool factor. I also think the design and quality is better. Not massively better, but you’ll definitely notice it if you’ve worn both.
Thank you for making this. I found this really interesting. One thing about the F-84W is that its modeled after the older F-15 (which didn't have buttons, hence the smooth sides)
Love Mine , I purchased mine on Amazon just over a year ago and it was just over $20 and I received mine in about 2 Weeks. It's a Sweet Little Gem by Casio. Very clean little watch
I’m a Casio fanatic, too many to mention, but I didn’t know that the 84 existed lol. Shows what I know lol. I’m ordering one off eBay now... my only worry is that they have as many versions as the 91... my wife is going to kill me haha Thanks for another awesome video
Appalachian Underground , no worries. As far as I know there is only one version of the F-84W. Good luck with your wife! Mine gave up on getting upset when I buy a new watch, if it’s cheap enough. 🤣
Thanks for doing this video. I still stand by my opinion that the 84 is a straight up nicer design (vs. the 91). Feels silly to say when they're so similar -- tried to explain it to a mate of mine and he thought I was mad -- but it just is.
UsernameInvalidTHIS I totally agree. In addition to its more exclusive status, the 84 seems to be held to a higher standard by Casio. The differences between it and the 91 are subtle but definitely there. Thanks as always for the feedback!
@traviswalker8933 Since the F84W actually came first before the F91W, you'd think Casio would made improvements to the backlight for the F91W since the F84W's backlight is utterly pathetic, but Casio did not. Feels like the F91W is nothing more than a slightly larger version of the F84W with no improvements. Since the F84W came out in 1986, 3 years before the birth of the F91W, did no customers in 1986 ever complain about the very poor backlight of the F84W, or they did not just care and are happy with that? EDIT: I just found out there is another Casio watch that is similar to the F84W and F91W that came out much earlier. It is called the F87W, and that's where the design language for the F84W and F91W actually came from. It is said that it came out in 1982 while some said it first came out in 1984. Unfortunately, there are no UA-cam reviews and unboxings on the Casio F84W.
I’m the fastest new banker at the casino all thanks to this watch for allowing me to tell time and move chips quickly and calculate bonuses. I also noticed this watch to never lose time compared to the Illuminator Casio that I had.
This video makes me think why the F-91W is famous and the F-84W is not. Aside from the fact that the 84W is JDM. I mean, being JDM didn't stop enthusiasts to get the GW-400 G-Shock. It's nice to see you've got the uncommon gold version of the A158.
Big fan love the name of your channel it says all lreally need to know-you’re for REAL !! I don’t know why some commenters would think the F-84 is a fake-that’s weird thinking l prefer the F-84 over the standard version of the F-91W it’s not visually interesting to me the use colour on the dial of F-84 is subtle and interesting there are other F-91W’s that l really love but that blue bordered version is very boring thanx for you channel-more power to you,my friend! As far as cars go, Japan produces domestic market cars because they fill a niche in their market. It's probably sensible to make subcompact minivans or SUVs considering Japanese roads are often very narrow, but it doesn't make sense for manufacturers to invest in modifying and manufacturing those same cars for the American market. It could be the same case for the watch. Perhaps Japanese people have smaller wrists so they produce a watch with a smaller watch face?
I don't understand why that If its exclusively for the Japanese market. Why is the text on the display English? When all the text on the packaging & instructions is Japanese!

OneTwoThreeFourFive, I agree wholeheartedly. The difference in quality is subtle but still quite noticeable.
F-91W was released in 1989.
I have an F84W that was my dads from the late 80s. Just ordered a new strap for it as the old one broke, but it's a sweet watch.
It’s my favorite Casio digital.
Thanks for sharing!

F91W actually came out in 1989 - it can be found in Argos catalogues from that period.
F-91 came 1991
@@paradoks7487I have seen it listed in an Argos catalogue in 1989.

It costs next to nothing. I don't think your wife should be mad.

I absolutely agree. Then F-84W looks like it was intended as a three button watch while on the F-91W, it seems like an afterthought.

I have an old F-88w, which has similar physical case attributes. So this video was a big deal for me. Thanks.

Cool! It’s paying for itself already!
The F91w I believe came out in 1989.
I believe you’re right.
My favorite watch. Great video as always.
Cristopher Rodriguez M, it’s one of my favorites as well.
Thank you for the feedback!
Ya that's absolutely true.....you can only be the one wearing F84w in a cocktail party 😃
I am buying one of these, thanks

It looks so nice
Thanks for the video! Loved it from beginning to end. Gotta have one myself!!!
Rob van Pelt thank you so much for the positive feedback!
A700w can be used to upgrade the backlight of the f84.
Good idea? Any better suggestions?
Unfortunately I can't find this model in Brazil I will have to import it on Ebay
That’s the same way I had to get it here in the US. I wish they would export them.
This Casio is like the new girl in class-being very cute and wearing a cool Beatles’ White Album shirt.

Plus7Charisma I suspect it is something like that.
How does it differ from the F-91W
Better to be on your wrist that on the shelf, i always try and wear all my watches, usually to match the outfit
This is a nice watch for the Proletariat and the masses!😀
Indeed!

Is f84 solar powered or battery powered?
Battery powered.

長く着けてみると、かなり着け心地が異なりますし、ボタンを押した時の感触も異なりますが、どちらも良い物だと思います!
Scuba diving damay.
I’ve got to get this out and start wearing it again.
Very cool video, I just bought one along with an a159w (made in Japan) would love to see a review on it!
