      Having an ego is the confidence in knowing you'll implement your play in a flawless succession.
      Arrogance is the belief that no one will ever amount to you and that you are perfect.
      Egotistical is knowing you could be facing off against someone much better than you and still having confidence to surpass them.

    • @rooneyFPS
      @rooneyFPS  6 місяців тому

      By definition, being egotistical is excessively conceited or absorbed in oneself or to have an inflated view of oneself and their self-importance.
      What you have described of “facing against someone who is much better than you and still having the confidence to surpass them” is the meaning of being CONFIDENT in ones abilities and trusting that they have prepared and practiced enough to surpass them. While ego comes from materialistic achievements and neglects preparation or the need to further learn which holds many people back.
      However I do agree arrogance goes above both ego and confidence as that is the state of having a false sense of superiority over another and simply feeling “better than them” due to perhaps of being in better shape, being paid more, or having more achievement than another.
      It’s all a very fine line, but I try to preach that the main message of that segment is that you aren’t better than anyone else and you must keep yourself controlled to become a continuous learner and achieve the goals you set out for yourself to do.

      @@rooneyFPS ok I hear you I agree with you on most points but I also have a question yay puled out a classic and only used the classic when facing off of against a full bronze lobby for obvious reason he would never classic only while facing off against loud, is yay egotistical?

    • @Ninthtry9103

      @@rooneyFPS I'm not pressing or anything I'm just really intrigued with this conversation by know means do I absolutely need an answer.

    • @rooneyFPS
      @rooneyFPS  6 місяців тому

      You need a lot more context in this situation and it all depends on motivation and insecurity really. For example, I would say if he absolutely disrespected the enemy saying that they will never amount to anything in their lives or careers due to him having more competitive experience and hours then them and proving it using classic only, then yes I would say it’s egotistical or arrogant to place himself above others due to his achievements. However, if it is a challenge to see if Yay can prevail against a full bronze lobby through his confidence in himself and the thousands upon thousands of hours of strict practice, regimen and discipline, I would not say it is egotistical no.

    Honestly, I know people might bash me for it or call me cringe but I unironically needed to hear the last tip. I can’t remember the last time someone told me “your worst enemy is yourself”. it really comes to show not overcoming yourself is your greatest downfall as not only a player, but as a person. thanks for the great video as always rooney :)

      I agree that he wasn't being fully honest and kinda did a fake marketing scheme, but I still think what he has done for the community should be plenty enough to excuse that. It's not even like he is a bad coach, most of what he says is true and can be applied in the situation u r in, in the game. As for the growing ego problem he admitted, I do think that he has realised that all of his viewers come from different places and all of them have different weaknesses in the game which could make it annoying to explain that topic again and again, but he realised it is actually no one's fault. So in short, yes I do support him

      @@sarthakrajan2387yes his recent video where he realized he had drifted away from his vision of what he was as a coach, basically Mr Rogers is a really good sign he's been thinking a lot about himself and how he represents the community.

    What if you want to become a pro. Then its more then a Hobby. Its someting you want to get a career with. I have a good life, doing sport and I am healthy but still using much time for that goal.

    • @rooneyFPS
      @rooneyFPS  6 місяців тому

      As long as you can find time to stay healthy, however you need to be obsessed. This more so applies to players who don’t have that goal, but should still be applied either way. You MUST take sacrifices though and must quite literally have Valorant consumer your life if you want to be the 100 players out of 15 million to compete at a tier 1 professional level and make a career out of this game.
