Lovely. Hard to believe that this fresh-looking little engine is the same one that wheezed and clattered its way through 'Railway Adventure' and 'Railway with a Heart of Gold'...
An object lesson in how to film a preserved railway - long steady camera shots, excellent continuity and a demonstration of some of the best camera positions on the Talyllyn. I was on the first post restoration train on 13th May 2011 and this brings it all back. Thank you.
I like the cast brass nameplates on the Talyllyn Railway locomotives. @0:17 Dolgoch along with Douglas in RAF blue are such handsome engines. 😊 They’re all nice!
@@dtaylor4552 There’s a brief moment at the beginning of the video (starting around 00:27) where you hear some children playing in the background, and one of them says “Bobby [or Mommy]...get off the track!”. To be honest, I have never seen “The Railway Children”, so that was completely by coincidence, ha ha!
The old lady doing lovely work as always.
As of mid-2015, good to see it past it's overhaul and still in service for 149 going on 50 years. Here's to another 50 years or many more.

And it's wheezing and clattering lead the way for most heritage railways!
But she is. And it's thanks to her wheezing and clattering through back then that she and the others are _able_ to be so lovely now.
Excellent shots of Dolgoch! The long shots where the sound of the train is slowly growing audible really just work somehow.

Great. As a life member, former fireman and blockman on the TR I really appreciate this work of art. 5*
