Make sure you clean off all the lubricant on the stone side where the driveshaft comes through. I left it messy when I did mine, and over time the white grease spread all over the inside and outside of the SG-250. Luckily not the actual grinding surface.
A turkey baster is an inexpensive, handy way to drain the water from your water trough. No spillage. When you are down to the sludge, use a paper towel. Give a final rinse with clean water keep your water trough like new.
I have a tormek t4 bush craft. I've noticed a loud noise. Any advice on how to fix that? It only happened when i would apply pressure with my knife, but now it makes that noise all the time. I tried cleaning and re-greasing, but that didn't work. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.
@@lassevejbymadsen9288 Good point, there are two different things, the Truing Tool levels the grindstone surface, while the Stone Grader can refresh the grindstone surface and make the effective grit coarser or finer.
Thanks, I almost missed the outtakes! 😂 Great help. I did not know about greasing the shaft! Oh my. 🥴
Must save video for anyone with a tormek, great info.
Thanks! Glad I did this video, I'm greasing my bearings now!

Tip 7 - you might get the bump on the leather wheel if you have a build-up of honing compound in one (or more) spot/s.
Good tip.

what was the truing stone for
The truing tool levels the surface of the grindstone.
No it’s for changing grit on the sg-250 stone

It’s not a Trueing Stone…it’s a stone grader…for changing the grit grade on the wheel
