Peaceful drive today. Yesterday's visit by the officers at least provided you with different content. Lefty is a good traveler. He seems content to sleep his way across the US. He was sure excited to see his pack. Have a good visit. Blessings
The scenery through AZ and NM just looks other worldly, hard to believe that's right here in the US of A. Glad you and Lefty made it home safe! And your daughter is very pretty and I can see a little bit of you in her face. Enjoy the down time!
I recognized one clip off the I-40 in AZ that was Holbrook, or thereabouts. I go up there every few months from Mesa (by Phoenix)... AZ has a LOT of diverse scenery, weather, and animals! Don’t you think David’s daughter has his smile?
Thanks for sharing! You have the best background music I've heard so far, and I've seen lots of these travel videos! Your build out is the closest to one I'd want for myself. Thanks for the info about durability of ambulances vs RVs. And for running a VIN for insurance purposes (another video) BEFORE purchasing. And checking for interior height of the box before purchase. Peace!!
They were chatting with you to see how coherent you were, if you could talk without slurring your speech or could think quickly when they asked a question. The cop in the car was listening/talking to the cop, through earbuds, that was standing next to you. They were hoping they could catch you under the influence of "something". Believe me, i know because they tried to "trap" me the same way / same tactic. As hard as they tried it didn't work for them because I wasn't impaired! Be careful of crooked cops and drive safely!!
@@tomz1daful When I was in the military and would make long treks in an RV, I got pulled over about four or five times, usually in smaller communities. Then they ask if you have any large amounts of cash in the vehicle, because they are pirates. I think we all know the alleged offence was BS, but you simply driving gives them a way to insert themselves into your day. FILM THE POLICE!!
Glad you had a safe trip….living near Chicago the past 10 years but was born and raised in the Rochester area….. was enjoyable watching the video! Thanks for posting!
I believe I told you this before but your daughter is beautiful, she must take after your mom. Lefty was so excited to see the family because he knows who and where his people are...
that was really cool. The last 5 years my homebase was Rochester as I camped the national forests and visited the parks. I did that drive so many times. Your daughter is lovely. New to your channel. I'm just skimming your past videos to catch up. I really like your style! Lefty is awesome and your daughter is lovely. I look forward to watching your travels. Stay safe!
For me, one of the best things about moving away from Illinois was leaving behind all the asshole cops who would pull you over for little or NO reason... and then proceed to search your car and all that crap.
I just made almost that exact same trip in reverse, the majority of it anyway. I just picked up a 2011 ambulance in West Virginia and drove it to Las Vegas. I prefer I-40 over 70. I passed so many broken down vehicles it made me very nervous and cautious as I was driving a new to me vehicle with a bu##load of miles on it. Enjoy your visit.
I just had to laugh when you were talking about good old St. Louis, Misery and how the roads are the worst there! I grew up there, and have traveled a lot, so I couldn’t agree more! Glad you made it home! Lefty is adorable! And your daughter is sweet and beautiful! I’m getting ready to do another cross-country trip with my daughter (she’s 35) and her doggy, Princess Zelda this August, from Oregon to Delaware. We’ve done lots of trips together but it’s been years. Love your channel!
Cute kid, doggie recognized the area and was sure glad to be at his grandma's home. I've had the winds around Lake Havasu blow me across lanes before and feel like the truck and camper were going to flip over while trying to correct. And there was nothing I could do to prevent it. Thank God there were no vehicles beside me. Had a cop seen it, the cop would have flipped over the explanation but I tell you, you drive a big tall vehicle, side winds will eventually get you. Take care...
@@davidcampbell4465 Those big gusts come out of nowhere and the best thing to do is slow down. That is troublesome on roads posting 75 plus MPH. Cars less effected by high winds getting upset you're blocking traffic haven't a clue you're driving a big sail. Stay safe.

🌴Aloha from Hawaii. Thank you for the ride. I drove from Toronto - New York - California back in the Day. Took me four months. Cruising. Now retired back home in Hawaii. Take good care and be safe. See you in your next video. Hugs for "Lefty". 🤙
I really enjoyed this one. Loved getting to see a bit of the country, and watch Lefty enjoy the ride. You do indeed have a lovely daughter as well. I don't know if I could have handled that drive through St. Louis. That looked to be quite the workout. I'm glad the pull over went well, you just never know sometimes. I'm sure they were on the look out for some sorta non-sense. You were prob driving to well. lol

Yep. Agree as others mentioned possible mule / drug runner. Got stopped for exactly the same thing in Oklahoma. Called it crossing the fog line. Even brought the dog over to sniff the van. They were friendly enough just doing their job. I asked the One cop if he'd seen the movie The Mule. When he said yes I said so you just stopped because you thought I look like Clint Eastwood. Both got a good laugh. It's all about attitude.
I'm well familiar with that stretch of road as well. Next time, just tell them you are a state certified driver with Metro-State and that you're enroute to a high risk funeral.
Cops fishing or profile stop. Driving from CA to MI, I got pulled over 5 times. Twice within 20-minutes...Pulled over just before crossing a state border, then right after crossing into the next state. All lame reasons. One cop even admitted, "Do you mind if I give you a warning ticket so my boss thinks I'm doing something"? So we agreed on something....
I got in trouble back in 99 because of just that. Coming back East from Alb NM with Florida tags. The cop even told me that. 3 checks in Texas 2 in La, last one caught me on idiotic infraction. Y2K 12/31/99 Monroe,La. The scariest place on Earth. 👵🏽✌🐕 Stay safe and Free.
Once when I go pulled over immediately upon entering Illinois from St. Louis, I asked why I got pulled over. Cop said my lights weren't on in inclement weather as per Illinois law. I made the point that it was sunny. He pointed to the horizon to the west where miles away you could see large thunderstorms approaching. But they were still miles away. I was bright and sunny overhead.
@@bastifar1 Georgia state patrol said I failed to dim my lights, I was running on dim because one of my bright lights was blown. Asking them why they pulled you over is like asking for trouble.

Don’t know what it is now, and not to mention the fuel tax that we pay. And I don’t know why the roads are the way they are. They shouldn’t be. They really beat up our trucks big time

As a trucker I've covered all 48 Continental States at one time or another. I have to say about Illinois Troopers that they are some of the most professional and fairest troopers in the country to deal with (and I have on many occasions). My opinion would be that they just took the opportunity to scope you out as your vehicle would be an excellent vehicle to transport a ton of dope in. Consider 90% of the dope going into Chicago is coming up that same corridor it's sort of understandable. If you hadn't pulled into the rest area they may well have just tailed you a while, while running your plates and then finally dropped off into the next median crossover.

One must ask, where is the funding they get from the feds for up keep on a federal interstate? If there was such a thing as an investigative reporter anymore, following the money could, and mostly would, reveal some misappropriation of funds.

They have some beautiful terrain, but pound for pound Colorado in my opinion has everyone beat
Peace!!
Thank you! I love choosing music for our videos :)
Good man takes good care of his hound dog.
Enjoyed your video. Love Lefty, he's a beautiful Pit.
Drive safely. God bless you.
Thank you Lynn
They were chatting with you to see how coherent you were, if you could talk without slurring your speech or could think quickly when they asked a question. The cop in the car was listening/talking to the cop, through earbuds, that was standing next to you. They were hoping they could catch you under the influence of "something". Believe me, i know because they tried to "trap" me the same way / same tactic. As hard as they tried it didn't work for them because I wasn't impaired! Be careful of crooked cops and drive safely!!
I concur. I would love to see Teaching information that Cops are Taught . Where do we get this information from????
Illinois and trapping motorists...
Since post road days....
@@tomz1daful When I was in the military and would make long treks in an RV, I got pulled over about four or five times, usually in smaller communities. I always had my military ID hanging from my mirror and once they saw that they tended to quickly end any conversation and I would be on my way, LOL. They don’t like messing with active duty military.
Then they ask if you have any large amounts of cash in the vehicle, because they are pirates. I think we all know the alleged offence was BS, but you simply driving gives them a way to insert themselves into your day. FILM THE POLICE!!
@Steph K Mute Time, see ya honey! 🖕
Glad you had a safe trip….living near Chicago the past 10 years but was born and raised in the Rochester area….. was enjoyable watching the video! Thanks for posting!
Thank you James
I believe I told you this before but your daughter is beautiful, she must take after your mom. Lefty was so excited to see the family because he knows who and where his people are...
Thank you Cherel :)
that was really cool. The last 5 years my homebase was Rochester as I camped the national forests and visited the parks. I did that drive so many times. Your daughter is lovely. Im glad to be in a place I can live on the beach, and stop driving. My spine cannot take the driving. Enjoyed familiar roads and places. Have fun
Thank you - I loved having her in the videos :)
Haha your dog was like... “ think we’re leaving? I got your shoe dad! Now what?” LOL
I have a second pair for just these situations!! Lol!
That's his excited look and sneeze lol
This is the first video of yours I've seen, glad my friend shared it. Love talkative dogs! New subscriber.
Oh yeah, I drive my mom from OKC to Hershey PA to see my sister, I completely agree that St. Louis roads are the worst!
Hi David! Lefty is a cutie. I saw this video pop up in my feed. Interesting to see your set up and love how you share your journey. I've always wanted to do a built out either a van or trailer maybe a remodel. You've made a nice use of space. Been stationary at an RV park for a while. Sure miss traveling as much as I use too! Fun to watch you two on the road.

Thank you for watching Brandi:)
Lefty you are the best traveling dog ever! You guys take care and enjoy being at grandma’s.
The officers probably just wanted to check out your cool rig!
They did ask a lot of questions... but not sincerely.
Just found u the other day when u helped that lady...went back and watched ur videos...u have a new subscriber now...thank you very good stuff...ps love ur dog he is cool...
Thank you for watching Misty :)
Lefty is so funny he’s so happy to be home to see family he gets so vocal 😂🚑
Editing this video was tough - he kept hearing his sounds on the computer, which made him make more sounds!!
Glad you had a save trip back home, enjoy your visit.
I think he was impressed with your ambulance!!! It's difficult to hold real steady in the lanes, my ambulance "roams" a bit within the lane
Right! Mine wanders in wind or truck passings.
New to your channel. I'm just skimming your past videos to catch up. I really like your style! Lefty is awesome and your daughter is lovely. I look forward to watching your travels. Stay safe!
Thank you and thanks for joining us :)
For me, one of the best things about moving away from Illinois was leaving behind all the asshole cops who would pull you over for little or NO reason... and then proceed to search your car and all that crap.
I've just stumbled onto this channel. Very interesting. Thank you for sharing this. Beautiful family you have.
Thank you - welcome to the channel!
Glad you had a good trip!!
That's the roughest road in the US that I've traveled!
Be happy Lefty lets you wear his sneakers.
Right!!
Just because it's cool to be rolling in ambulance! LoL 👋 Lefty he is the ⭐ of the show of course 😂 you are a good kick for Lefty!
You got that right! I'm just the cameraman :)
You've got to drive one to know... like us!
Be careful...u don't want a "tumbleweed" award! 😜
@@davidcampbell4465 Those big gusts come out of nowhere and the best thing to do is slow down. That is troublesome on roads posting 75 plus MPH. Cars less effected by high winds getting upset you're blocking traffic haven't a clue you're driving a big sail. Stay safe.
@@CITAP1 yeah, been driving big rigs for 30 years now. Seen a lot of 'em blown over. Know one guy whose been blown over 3 times now; didn't learn the first time, I guess.....
Thanks for the video David. I love your dog, Lefty. But then I love all dogs.Hope you two stay safe and I wish you green lights and blue skies all the way.
That is one happy puppy!
Handsome dog and a lil stinker looks like. Beautiful skies...1st time viewing your channel. Thanks. Be safe you 2.
Thank you Christina :) From us both!
Liked the smooth jazz.
Yes, which made the splices in the video, invisible, as a pleasant homebound trip should be. And yes proud papa, to have such a loving and beautiful daughter awaiting your homecoming.
That big puppy have the best confort in that ride ever.
I hope he's comfortable!
Hey David..man those roads were awful ! Those Cops were either having a slow day or just fishing..who knows 🤔 Boy..Lefty was happy to get home ! The end of the video was cute/funny 😁👍
Hi Paul! I think they were fishing, right... Thanks brother :)
🌴Aloha from Hawaii. Thank you for the ride. I drove from Toronto - New York - California back in the Day. Took me four months. Cruising. Now retired back home in Hawaii. Take good care and be safe. See you in your next video. Hugs for "Lefty". 🤙
Aloha :))
You were prob driving to well. lol
St Louis was tough!
@@TheCampulanceMan We're working at fixing the roads you saw the construction crossing the bridge, should be done in a couple of years.

Finally have You Tube installed on my TV. Love your videos..
My favorite quote, “I’ve driven dirt roads that are smoother than that.”
My favorite moment, when Lefty saw grandma. Awww so sweet!
And yes, your daughter is gorgeous! Glad you landed safe. Question: How do you rate your Kingslim dual dashcam? My different brand was also $70 and recorded in either 1 or 2 minute blips only. Thanks for interacting with us!
The Kingslim has worked well for me. It does 3 min. video segments...
Thank you for watching and my daughter says thank you :))

Keep up the good work u will get the subs up there in no time!

Curious where our tax dollars go after seeing those abysmal roads! Going into the wrong pockets! Safe travels, I am a little behind on my marathon following your and Lucky's journeys! Great content!!
Your dog is so adorable. What a great companion.
He's a big part of my days :)
@@TheCampulanceMan I can tell and you're everything to him:)
The dog is so chilled out. He seems to love it.
Lefty is so beautiful, you both are very lucky to have each other...
Ride on and stay calm!
🤣🤣🤣👍
I got that reference, but it only worked for ole Jeremy for a while. I think he may have overstayed his welcome in FL🤣
😂😂😂😂😂👏👏👏👏👏👏❤
At 17:43, you were 15 minutes from me.... glad you had a safe trip. Lefty was happy to be back.
Did you see me waving?? :)
Police pulled you and Lefty over because it appeared you were having good a time being on the road, which is almost too legal.
LOL..oh the truth of that statement.

Civil right violating fishing stop, by these cops.they make up reasons to stop and check you out.
Wow!
Stay safe and Free.
They always need a reason to stop you even if they make one up
That's their go to excuse.
Like I smell weed. Lol!
Funny when they can't get you.

WE MUST FIGHT THIS ABUSE! That’s owner operators out here on the road that’s always been our pet peeve big time we pay $550 a year or oh taxes and we also pay tolls crossing the Walt Whitman Bridge is $110.02 years ago. Don’t know what it is now, and not to mention the fuel tax that we pay. And I don’t know why the roads are the way they are. They shouldn’t be. They really beat up our trucks big time
That roadway is embarrassing its so bad. For miles and miles...
Politicians often use the taxes designated for transportation maintenance for their pet projects and a personal piggy bank. It's a disgusting abuse of power and needs to stop.
@@Uberragen21 sounds like Commifornia, they added yet ANOTHER gas tax and extra fees on vehicle registration, I have a 2018 F150 4x4 and my registration this year is $680.00, they claim its "only for road repair" instead it goes for Newsome pet project, his pockets and a already 3billion over budget for a "high speed rail" that only his rich cronies could afford to use.

Enjoy this one very much so maybe I'll see you around. Thanks for the nice ride. Good luck and stay safe.
Thank you Barbara :)
Thanks for letting us ride along with you and Lefty I enjoyed your company. Lefty is a great shotgun rider. Our Boxer zooms all over the place like your Lefty we call it "the rips" and he makes the same sounds as Lefty we just laugh and enjoy him. One must ask, where is the funding they get from the feds for up keep on a federal interstate? If there was such a thing as an investigative reporter anymore, following the money could, and mostly would, reveal some misappropriation of funds.
Bad winter damage. Had a bunch in Kansas also. Just now catching up here. Just got back from the grand canyon myself. We were the first ones let in the east south rim, got lucky.

Give him an ID to see if what is OK? Never agree to any violation. Make the cops prove it.
Lol, yea that always works and gets you in no trouble ever.. if you call em fuckers too it usually helps the situation as well.. also if you refuse to take your hands out of your pockets, really calms them down.. add that to your whole sovereign dumb a, i mean citizen routine.. lol..
Some states have mandatory ID-on-demand for drivers. My state has a mandatory "you have to give your name" for everyone. If they later find you gave them a fake name it is its own crime. (they have fingerprint scanners, and my state takes prints when you get a state ID)
Damn. Nothing like the last gen 7.3 ambulances. Good job on the conversion. I almost got a 02 F-3504WD ambulance, and decided I didn't need it. Kicking myself ever sense

You can always tell when you`re driving in a Democrat-run shithole of a state....the roads make the Ho Chi Minh Trail look smooth by comparison. Then, your little encounter with The Tactical Twins pretty well cemented things, those states are always looking to escalate the situation based on the flimsiest of excuses....
Are you kidding down south is known for doing this looking for drugs daily. All states depend on the money brought in from traffic court. Come to Ohio where it mostly ran by republicans and you look cross eye and get pulled over. Must be a cop every mile of road.
