I had the privilege of riding one of these when I visited Japan. I was in a land that I had always dreamed of going, but due to my small grasp of the Japanese language, I was at first overwhelmed. I was in the suburban outskirts of the city, all alone, and I needed to be there at a certain time. I was so anxious and couldn't figure out the metro at first glance, and I had a lot of luggage with me. I said "screw it" and hailed a cab, and then I saw the most beautiful car I had ever seen. The chauffeur(yes, even though they operate as taxi drivers, they presented themselves with a humble prestige) stopped and greeted me and although my destination was far, he agreed to take me without a reluctant or snarky remark. Sporting a tuxedo with white gloves, he basically glided me through the city to my hotel. The journey was around a half an hour, but within that drive, all of my uncertainty and second guessing went away. The price of the trip was expensive, but it was well worth it. Then I bought a shitton of hentai at Akihabara.

No. The minister is sweating in the seat near him, unbound, ungagged. Silent, and meek. Why do you think there's wool in those seats? The car just rolled in front of his house, the door opened, and through the open portal, he can barely see the profile of a man in traditional, but expensive clothing.

I mean if the Phaeton wasn’t successful in the States how tf are you gonna convince people to pay 150k for a Toyota? Americans are generally too obsessed with brand to consider a Toyota and a Bentley competitors.
I noticed you were so enamored with the Century that even your tone of voice was noticeably more subdued and restrained than usual. This car has a powerful effect on you, as it does on me. "The Century is acquired through persistent work, the kind that is done in a plain but formal suit." I mean GODDAMN that's some hardcore subliminal marketing right there!
This is the car of my retirement dreams that I never knew about until now. Always awesome, always thankful for your quirky education. Thank you Mr. Regular.
Instead of these butt-ugly SUVs and curved plastic pieces of shit, why don't we get more cars that look like that? I mean I'm sticking with old mechanical carburetors but at least I wouldn't be vomiting at the sight of traffic anymore.
Surely you mean the Continental Mk II which has to be one of the best American cars ever built for luxury without being ostentatious. It is though an American form of luxury; all about driving yourself. The Century is anything but a personal luxury car. It is a car befitting a culture where classes and respect are more important than equality, jealousy and competition.
There's a guy on r/cars who essentially built his own V12 out of two 1JZs (essentially what this V12 is) and put it in his own home built vintage looking race car. That has at least 2 turbos I think too.
Why can't we have cars like this in America anymore? In the 1920-50's we had Packard, Cord, Duesenberg, Auburn, Cadillac, Lincoln, etc. Now its the big three plastic car companies.
JESUS EFFIN' CHRIST!!! I just can't believe you guys had the chance to try this beast! I have such a fetish about this car... it's luxury in its purest form! Classic looks, wool and smooth V12 power, what else a businessman could ask for? Greetings from Brazil!
I recently saw a 1987 model of this for sale in my state in Australia for $55,000. It looks absolutely identical to this 2006 model. I just find this totally incredible how faithful they have kept the manufacturing of this car to its original.
The boss of the yakuza is called the oyabun. According to an interview with Jeremy Clarkson and one of the oyabuns (in his Motorworld documentary), most of them prefer Mercedes
I'm 55 years old and I have always told my younger brothers that ALL the major car producers had their version of a super luxury car. Thanks well done and I wish I could get one, you helped me prove my point.
NZ allows imports on any cars... Those cars are inspected and have to be FREAKING perfect though... The smallest bit of rust somewhere and it will be denied registration... They can go as far as stripping out the entire thing to check panel gaps which have to be within factory specs. There are no notion of rarity as to what can or can't be imported there though...
That's as long as they can pass crash tests and emissions though, otherwise they have to be imported as a Special Interest Vehicle, and there's a limit of 200 per year, which do have to be collectable and rare.
traxnada Not so much anymore. Cars must meet emissions and crash standards now, so no more cheap 90s sports cars, or at least its a lot harder now. There is a certain clause regarding rare or desirable cars, something to that effect.
Hum, interesting... I export cars from Japan for a living and only dealt once with NZ, very recently actually... Car was a Cappuccino which you guys had in very limited numbers from new in NZ... Not sure if that original availability made it different than say a R32 GT-R...
traxnada It may well do, but I'm honestly not too sure. I understand why they enforce this now, our fleet was extremely old and dangerous, still is but great cars are getting cheap here now. It's not all perfect at the border too, my car managed to sneak through a couple years back with no cats or anything, just straight piping with o2 sensors
UA-cam has been suggesting videos from this channel for a while. I figured I would watch one when i got around to it. This is not what I expected. Well done sir or ma’am or whoever makes these. Well done.
Felt like I had to comment on it, I just love how understated this car is, just a type of a vehicle somebody who does not need to prove anything to anybody would possess. I would still get a Phantom over one of these, but that’s because of my image-obsessed ego. It partially reminds me of M760Li and Audi A8 W12 though, which both have the engines from their higher-ranked siblings (Rolls-Royce Ghost and Bentley Continental) and are loaded with equipment yet maintain relatively restrained appearances and traditional bodies, both in a way similar to Century (considering the fact that S8 is actually W12’s faster SWB sibling with a V8 while they are only LWB). Actually, would love to see Mr. R’s reviews of both of these cars.
That's hot that you guys went all the way out to New Zealand. I just received on vlogged on my 1992 Century Import to the USA and now you guys make me want to get a 1997 + V12. Nice review.
The V12 sound... It changed me. The way it sounded sent chills down my spine, and my body trembled a little. I always knew that V12s are quite something. But this is... Special.
You describing the driving quality of this sounds more and more like a Grand Marquis the farther you go. Floaty, body-roll intensive suspension. Big engine, but with a very low torque peak and only being loud at redline. And slow acceleration because *two tons*. Except, that's not a Marquis. That's a Century. *It's better*

Kane Smith i’ll be importing this version come 2022
I mean if the Phaeton wasn’t successful in the States how tf are you gonna convince people to pay 150k for a Toyota? Americans are generally too obsessed with brand to consider a Toyota and a Bentley competitors.
@@athanagames then call it a Lexus. It worked for the Soarer, Altezza, Aristo, and Harrier.
This is one of the coolest cars ever
This is the car of my retirement dreams that I never knew about until now. Always awesome, always thankful for your quirky education. Thank you Mr. Regular.
I literally said, "HOLY SHIT!" 3 times, when he folded down the front seat! Genius! Thanks Mr. Regular, you always delivery.🤙
Basically a Japanese Lincoln Continental but cooler.
^
Instead of these butt-ugly SUVs and curved plastic pieces of shit, why don't we get more cars that look like that? I mean I'm sticking with old mechanical carburetors but at least I wouldn't be vomiting at the sight of traffic anymore.
Surely you mean the Continental Mk II which has to be one of the best American cars ever built for luxury without being ostentatious. It is though an American form of luxury; all about driving yourself. The Century is anything but a personal luxury car. It is a car befitting a culture where classes and respect are more important than equality, jealousy and competition.
This RR knockoff does not come any close to the Lincoln continental so yall gotta be on crack right now
NUT Corporation behave yourself you fucking muppet
Mr. Regular, what did you just make me listen to?
Playing _My Sharona_ in the background does add a certain _je ne sais quoi_ though...
I want to see RCR in japan, just imagine....
Thatd be neat!
That would be an International Incident. A glorious International Incident.
i wanna see him make wingadinga noises in usdm mooneyes meets or make speedcunters jokes at daikoku pa
*Which Itasha is best Itasha?*
Oh god, can you imagine the level of culture shock?
That V12 needs to be in a Supra with some turbos.....
I know that there was a GT86 that was at TAS recently that had a built Century v12 with quad turbos that was supposedly putting down around 1100hp.
Lol and maybe it should be gold and built by a company called Top Secret 😂
There is a s14 drift car in New Zealand with this engine it's awesome
So I found the top secret car in a Speed Hunters article from '09 and its pretty epic. Body kit is a bit out there but pretty freakin awesome.
Don’t forget fake wood also, grand marquis
my god bmw get it together. we want the wool seats. we want the full recline.
It's like a Japanese Rolls Royce, and it's one hell of a gorgeous boat of a car 😀😉👍
what a great engine noise. none of that backfire or rev popping that sounds so annoying pure engine sound
JESUS EFFIN' CHRIST!!! I just can't believe you guys had the chance to try this beast! I have such a fetish about this car... it's luxury in its purest form! Classic looks, wool and smooth V12 power, what else a businessman could ask for?
Greetings from Brazil!

tapa na cara da sociedade japonesa!
First video I watched from RCR, and hooked ever since.
Just brought a 1997 century. And it's amazing . Get them while there still cheap
I recently saw a 1987 model of this for sale in my state in Australia for $55,000. It looks absolutely identical to this 2006 model. I just find this totally incredible how faithful they have kept the manufacturing of this car to its original.
God, this car just screams Gran Turismo Jazz Soundtrack. Absolutely beautiful.
This is what a mafia boss in Tokyo Japan would drive/ride in
There may be mafia in Japan, but what you're probably thinking of is the Yakuza.
Nah, i always imagine Yakuza being chauffeured around in Mercedes Benz S class
The boss of the yakuza is called the oyabun. According to an interview with Jeremy Clarkson and one of the oyabuns (in his Motorworld documentary), most of them prefer Mercedes
Namely, a blacked out, chrome wheels W140.
nah, this is for politicians and the CEOs of companies that produce bra underwires.
Wait a second. 350ft-lbs of torque where? 4 hundred RPM? Do you mean 4 thousand?
He clearly does :)
I mean, diesels can come close...
Maybe its a diesel?
Angel Gutierrez it's a gasser, no diesel.
just a verbal typo; obviously 4k
That is one of the best engine sounds I’ve ever heard.
My favorite car in the entire universe. Thank you so much for this video.
Daddy Regular 😭❤💕😔
I was gonna go to bed, then I saw an RCR video, ok, no big deal, watch it in the-*it's a Toyota Century.* I had to watch it right this instant.
SMOKEY NAGATA from top secret put this engine with two turbos in a supra.
go look for it is insanity on wheels.
that transition from the front seat to the back seat was awesome
I'm 55 years old and I have always told my younger brothers that ALL the major car producers had their version of a super luxury car. Thanks well done and I wish I could get one, you helped me prove my point.
Sounds like a whole Yakuza squad arriving to strike a deal with your equally criminal supervisor.
NZ allows imports on any cars... Those cars are inspected and have to be FREAKING perfect though... The smallest bit of rust somewhere and it will be denied registration... They can go as far as stripping out the entire thing to check panel gaps which have to be within factory specs. There are no notion of rarity as to what can or can't be imported there though...
traxnada yeah we get crappie ass granny cars here. This is nice af compared to what I see on a daily basis.
That white Celica gt4 at the start 💖👌
tell me they're reviewing that O.o
I can confirm they're reviewing that
UA-cam has been suggesting videos from this channel for a while. I figured I would watch one when i got around to it. This is not what I expected. Well done sir or ma’am or whoever makes these. Well done.
You shattered my heart to pieces within the first minute once I realized what quote you were playing off of
Hey RCR! Come over to Australia, you can review my 06' Crown Majesta! It's shares many traits with the Century but it actually handles well! :)
R’s reviews of both of these cars.
was that intro tune from FFIX? i never stop finding more reasons to love this channel.
That's hot that you guys went all the way out to New Zealand. I just received on vlogged on my 1992 Century Import to the USA and now you guys make me want to get a 1997 + V12. Nice review.
Fantastic review of what sounds like a fantastic car. The idea of "hustle for the long game" is seriously inspirational
This upload felt like Christmas.
Old Toyota 100 Years with a V12!
Oh My GODS that engine sound. Wow.
The V12 sound... It changed me. The way it sounded sent chills down my spine, and my body trembled a little. I always knew that V12s are quite something. But this is... Special.
love the custom final fantasy music!
This car reminds me more of 2nd-Gen GAZ Chaika than anything else. That's a car I'd like to see Mr. Regular do, but yeah, uh, good luck.
Lazarus Long ZIL 114 might be closer?
Mmm, perhaps it might!
Well I just listened to my homework. Mr. Regular, you're a sadist.
MY SHERONA!!!
This was the first time I've ever listened to Tem Minute Podcast. Is this normal content for them? (also, wtaf?!!!)
Best guess is he just trolled a large part of his audience 😄
No trolling. It’s a stereotype simulacrum of a high-powered, never hears no businessman. He’s into fine art and autoerotic asphyxiation.
Where has this car been all my life? I know what I'm importing when it reaches 25 years old
Best car review video I’ve ever seen. Please don’t stop making these!
That sounds absolutely amazing.... btw I'm so happy to see you guys at almost 500k subscribers. I subscribed around 25k :)
Too bad the 2018 ones sell only in Japan.
ansaree97 im pretty sure all of them were only sold in japan but they can be imported in now
To the emperor himself and everyone close to him...
Melodies of life ff9
When I lived in LA I saw Jackie Chan driving his Century around. Understated and classy at the same time.
God, I love your narration style and how you capture my attention and take me on a journey. The songs too. I almost tear up a bit. No joke. It is somehow so moving. 😳 Thank you for what you guys do.
