Also, to all planning their legendaries here, just be aware that they do take a big lot of time, if you're not already part of the rich crew here. Leggys are worth about 1000-3000 gold (depending on which one you go for), and if you craft them, you will need to farm items or gold of that worth by some means. I've just finished my second legy (Exordium, it's so beautiful *_*), and realised that I began the grinding and farming process a bit more than a year ago. I do log in daily and probably play an hour daily on average (most likely more, I might have lost count). On my first legendary, Astralaria, I grinded so hard that I lost all motivation for GW2 several times and took long breaks from the game. So please go easy on yourselves and try to find joy in the game, because if you only focus on the grind, it can get frustrating easily.
@@Zariem twilight and sunrise cost ~1400 gp if you buy absolutely everything. Any given gen 2 will run you at minimum 2100 gp, but usually is closer to 2300. Like you said in initial post, it's long term goal, and make smaller goals so you don't get burnt out farming.
@@aeontiv Oh I wasn't aware that they cost less than 2k gold too, for some reason I remembered it wrong. (Heh, maybe I should try my hand on a 1st gen once, but the 2nd gen just looks better to me xD)
@@Zariem I agree, love the 2nd gen! They used to be a lot more expensive, but since the living world season 4 maps, prices dropped a lot due to easier access to mats :)
For Mystic clover, you forget another way to get them : Repeatable achievements on the last map "Glory to the [...] Legion" Last chest of each of those achiev give you 2 clovers. Those achiev also give some tier 6 mats. It's long but a little bonus anyway
Wow, I've already crafted a few legendaries, and remember struggling to keep all the steps organized, constantly having to look at recipe lists and guides, but this guide was the best organized one I've come across. Easy to understand and really put the whole process into a simple organized process. Leaned some new things too. Great video! Everyone interested in crafting legendary weapons should watch this video. I'd go so far as to say Anet should even feature this somewhere. It's very well done.
This is an excellent guide. I've been playing for 3 months and have fully geared my toon with ascended. My first goal is Frostfang and this was incredibly helpful (especially the tips for Mystic Clovers)
Obsidian Shard can also be obtained from a guild merchant Sigurlina Jonsdottir. 5 shards for 1 commendation, but it's limited to 3 purchases per day. So you can get 15 shards for 3 commendations daily.
I crafted on 2nd Gen Legendary and it cured me of wanting more Legendarys for a bit. I eventually finished the Legendary backpack because I realized I already had everything I needed to do the PvP one. I keep flirting with the idea of doing another weapon, but I might to a trinket instead. I’d love to see a video on those.

I recently completed Sunrise, a few months ago The Flameseeker Prophecies, and last year made Meteorlogicus. Right now working on Envoy 2, leg armor from raids, and Ad Infinitum (at the final stage, having Unbound, and needing to make some gifts and do some fractals), the leg backpack. Why? raiding on mesmer. ^_^ Versatile class where being flexible on gear is important for a role. Excellent guide Cellofrag :D. Oh, and you have a slight error (see Gift of Ascalon) you said 400 but have on screen 500 (which is correct), and that gift just so happens to be used in both flameseeker and sunrise. Luckily I do dungeons fairly often ;).

:D the thing about WvW is absolutely correct. I am the worst PvP player worldwide and i HAAAATE PvP but once i entered WvW i just fell in love with it.
I just want to add if you're having problems with the mystic coins you can get 1 guaranteed per day by doing Ley-Line Anomaly event, also if you like Fractal you have a chance to get 1 coin from the daily chest thats tier 2, 3 or 4, another guaranteed but non reliable way to get it is from PvE daily, if there's a "Daily Mystic Forger" daily you should always try to do it.
I would like to encourage people who may get disheartened on the process. I came back to the game last Christmas and I had a total of 3 half made characters and about 15g to my name. Fast forward to today, July 31, and I have crafted four 1st Gen leggies without spending a buck of real money. You just have to focus your efforts on content that you like to do and do it a lot. In my case it was fractals. I went from not knowing what they were to having several hundred challenge mote proofs and all the gold, mats, etc, I needed for those four legendaries in about 6 months. All I did was the 2 CMs, T4 dailies and recs everyday, which I enjoyed and profited from by buying the 30 daily deeply discounted encryption keys and opening the ones I was rewarded and selling the ones I got in excess. And as Cello said, I bought the 2 Mystic Clovers from fractals everyday.
One thing I didn't see mentioned with regards to getting Mystic Coins is you can also get an additional 1 Mystic Coin per day by completing one of the Ley-Line Anomaly events in Timberline Falls, Iron Marches or Gendarren Fields. This can more than double your natural Mystic Coin income, which helps a lot.
skyscale is definitely worth it and makes getting around the world wwaaayyy less work. I have both skyscale and griffon. Skyscale can reach greater heights than the springer, so you can easily climb up then switch to griffon and take off across the map - bond of faith mastery launch off the griffon in mid air and air-mount back to skyscale to hover.
@@jtjc7705 i didnt say skyscale is useless, however, when compared to the imortance of a legendary, it is. ESPECIALY when the griffon is a thing, assuming OP has one.
Good but I don't understand why you didn't talk about the mystic forge recipe to convert t5 into t6 which is incredibly efficient considering you'll be gathering a whole lot of t5 and end up selling them at the TP anyway (so losing money in conversion)

You also win 2 mystic clovers at reward in the new map each time you get 5k charr commendations for a total of 8 clovers. This special Mission can be done for an infinite time.
This is too much work... I think it would be easier and less time consuming if I got a temporary part time job.. buy a bunch of gems.. exchange for a couple thousand gold... and just buy the Legendary on the trading post
I started crafting my first leggies in march, and once i know how to find the mats, the process gets faster. its november now, n im almost done with my fourth legendary with minimum play time
On obsi shards: other methods include the vendor on silverwastes, as well as reward tracks and the sorts. It is the main bottleneck for me regarding leggy crafting and selling gifts of mastery. You need 500 of em, which is just really annoying. I am looking to get into a chestfarm at some point, but RIBA is apparantly more profitable, so that one is done most. It is exceedingly hard to find a dedicated chestfarm.

skyscale is definitely worth it and makes getting around the world wwaaayyy less work. I have both skyscale and griffon. Skyscale can reach greater heights than the springer, so you can easily climb up then switch to griffon and take off across the map - bond of faith mastery launch off the griffon in mid air and air-mount back to skyscale to hover.
@@jtjc7705 i didnt say skyscale is useless, however, when compared to the imortance of a legendary, it is. ESPECIALY when the griffon is a thing, assuming OP has one.
Good but I don't understand why you didn't talk about the mystic forge recipe to convert t5 into t6 which is incredibly efficient considering you'll be gathering a whole lot of t5 and end up selling them at the TP anyway (so losing money in conversion)
Im not lvl 80 to even think about a legendary right now but I stayed for the accent

So, gift os exploration can I only complete the map? if i'm going to make another legendary, do i need to complete the map with an alt and so on?
if you complete world completion on 1 character, you get 2 Gift of exploration = you can craft 2 legendary :)
can i use icy runestones instead of mystic ones for gen 2?

I started crafting my first leggies in march, and once i know how to find the mats, the process gets faster. its november now, n im almost done with my fourth legendary with minimum play time

On obsi shards: other methods include the vendor on silverwastes, as well as reward tracks and the sorts.
It is the main bottleneck for me regarding leggy crafting and selling gifts of mastery. You need 500 of em, which is just really annoying. I am looking to get into a chestfarm at some point, but RIBA is apparantly more profitable, so that one is done most. It is exceedingly hard to find a dedicated chestfarm.
You can also get it from the guild hall with the mining node
The mining node for obsidian shard only work for 1 Guild hall, the one from path of fire !
