Cathy - so glad you posted about the Spanx pants when you first bought them. I bought them as well and agree 100% with everything you said. I went back and ordered the wide leg pants in the Air Essentials (this time in navy), along with the half zip top. Love them both BUT my only gripe is that they are different shades of navy!!!! It's a very different look from the black tapered pants, but I love this as well. SOOOOO, I have now ordered 2 of the Air Essentials mock sleeveless top - 1 in black and 1 in white!!!! I'm addicted to this fabric and you can't beat the quality of Spanx!

I also have the Air Essentials pants and adore them- worth every penny! I also have the pullover top that is shown in your stock pic. They are perfection together! Bought them as a travel outfit but love it so much I end up wearing it a lot at my destination as well. Just bought the cocoon jacket during the Nordstrom anniversary sale and wear it most evenings as loungewear. It is heavenly. I wish they made that contour jacket in the air essentials fabric. I love my contoured jackets from Athleta that look very much like this one and they may cost less. If anyone is questioning whether to buy the air essentials- just do it! You won’t regret it.

I bought the Spanx pants both wide and narrow legs plus the Spank matching pull over as soon as they came out…I wore them for my flight from Toronto,to Australia….AMAZING!!! I was so comfortable!
I have to say I don’t like the dupes because they don’t sit right in your crotch…They seem to gather when the Spanx do not.
I know the lower price point is great but I rather have less clothes I feel fit me correctly than having extras that aren’t as well fitted! Thank you for the review!

Hi Cathy, I've always liked Eddie Bauer clothes, they have great clearance sales & they carry plus sizes in some items. I've worn their men's V neck T shirts for years. They're really easy to return also, there's an EB store in my city so I order online for the range of sizes & then if they don't fit they're simple to return. I just recently tried some of their women's "Guide" pants in the plus size, the regular ones that zip up are described as "fitted through the waist & thighs" & I ended up returning them because they just didn't fit me comfortably, but I discovered the same pants in an "athletic" style with a stretch waist that's looser in the hips & thighs & what a difference even in the same size. Super comfortable & they feel nice. They're advertised as good for camping or traveling. They're expensive for me but I got some on clearance. I LOVE your style & manner, thank you. I appreciate what you said about how we tend to "wait" for that time, way in the future, until we allow ourselves to have decent clothes that make us feel better only "after we lose the weight". I'm 62 & just recently realized I don't want to spend the rest of my life hating myself for my appearance & only wear baggy clothes that don't fit right or feel good.
Just because of you, I want you to know I took my mom and her and I went to the closest Talbots, the closest Athletica, Chicos and Soma to purchase things and try them on so I really want to thank you for that. I didn’t know they carried my size.

I noticed that they really jacked up their prices in Canada. I did however, just place an order yesterday for a new pair in the colour "Smoke". I love the Air Essentials and wear them on repeat, so yes I would still recommend if it's in your budget. I have tried "dupes" from Amazon, Walmart, etc.. nothing compares to the original.

I bought the Old Navy set in black and I really like it. The pants are very lightweight. The jacket is tight fitting, I could have sized up but I'm working on loosing some pounds so it will fit better. I might get the Spanx set later. I have to pay for my next cruise. 😊

Hi, I recommend using their sizing guide to get the proper fit for you. I ordered the 3X in both the jacket and the pants, the jacket is more fitted and the pants relaxed. I'm 5'4" with a 27" inseam and did not have to hem the pants.
You have converted me to Talbots…on vacation I was able to get great tops at the Talbots Outlet store in Florida!!! Will have to try these pants!

Cathy, no comparison. The Old Navy pant gives you camel toe, and the fabric looks shiny. Stick with Spanx, a huge difference!

Please keep up your videos they have really inspired me to redo my wardrobe. I recently lost 45 pounds and want to buy quality basics. But always love a good dupe when possible!

I order the air essentials pants from Spanx but they didn’t have them in petite, I’m 5,2 and they were a little big on me size large, I send them back and they take 7.99 from the total you getting refunded so returns aren’t free 😯

Did you have any trouble with the Spanx items snagging? I bought the zip sweatshirt and while driving to our vacation destination I arrived with three snags. I did nothing but sit in the car. YIKES!
Oh no!! I haven't had any issues.
Some people mentioned this in the Spanx reviews. The company said to contact them and they would make it right for customers with the snags,

I would like to order the Spanx pant, but I’m concerned about not seeing them in petite. Cathy, did you have to shorten the pants?
The Spanx pants are only available in regular length and they fit my 27” inseam perfectly.
Have you had any issues with pilling? I bought the air essentials half zip without reading any reviews because I love how it felt but now I’m a bit concerned since they’re not cheap. Instruction say to wash in cold water, turn inside out and dry in low. Do you do anything different?
I have not had any issues, but I hang mine to dry.

Hi Cathy! I’m not a fan of thumb holes, either. Must be an age thing! 😂 May I ask what you were charged to have the sleeves shortened on your Spanx jacket? It cost me US$35 to have my Lululemon Define jacket sleeves shortened, and I thought that was $10 more than I expected to pay (it looks fabulous, though!)
Hi Tina, I think it was around $10. I took the jacket to a local seamstress, she is extremely reasonable. I think she charges me $8 to shorten my jeans. $35US seems like an awful lot!
Tina, I am not 100% sure, but I think Lululemon will hem for free if you bring it into the store. I had one of my items hemmed for free in Mn.
@@lisabengtson8807 Lululemon hems leggings at no cost but the Lulu store near me wouldn’t shorten jacket sleeves even when I offered to pay. Times have changed!

I don't think it seems too high, especially if she did a such a fabulous job. I've paid less and regretted it.
Would compression pants smooth saggy skin?
To be honest I really don't know. Perhaps a pair of compression underwear would help to smooth under the compression pants. Hopefully someone will read this and be able to let you know. I have tried a few pair of the Spanx smoothing underwear and they do the job for what I want.

I wore Spanx to my Son’s Wedding and I was really unhappy with them. They kept rolling down on my stomach. I HATE the way I look in the photos. If I could have a do-over, I would. But it wasn’t my wedding and I wasn’t the star. I feel like I was mislead by Spanx.
