You're buying the name for that kind of money. Not saying that is bad, just personal preference.

I rented a mid-trimmed xc90. It's not that good for the money, and I hated it being a mild hybrid for long highway driving. The only thing it did particularly well was the mild hybrid system made the start/stop relatively seamless.

Is it worth it to me? No, but is it worth it to someone that wants to pay for a Volvo plug-in? Maybe

I like the looks of the SUV, but I don't like the looks of the price!

19 mpg with low battery ick, how much percentage do you need to get 25?

Overall, I like your review. However. . .
You disliked Volvo infotainment system, but did you try adjustments of heating/cooling interior thru the Google Voice Command features? Hear Voice works slick, and you don’t have to flip thru screens to change things.
Also, video was too quick of a review for driver display & rear space, with no mention what do with a flat tire. Spare?
Lastly did this loaded beast have a driver’s Heads-up Display? Thanks.

For the money, you can get more luxurious or performance-y but that's kind of the point of Volvo. It's nice but subtle. Volvos are old money cars. It's a shame they're not known for being reliable. A turbosupercharged PHEV is complicated for the sake of being complicated. Good-looking cars through.
I wish cloth would come back as the luxury fabric. Leather is burning hot in the summer, freezing cold in the winter, doesn't breathe, and requires regular conditioning. Cloth is always the right temperature, breathes well, and apart from cleaning doesn't require any upkeep.

Synthetic leather, in theory, is the best of both worlds. The feel of leather, with none of the regular maintenance.

For foreign luxury go BMW x5 for a new row seating.

Yes. If you're the kind of stupid selfish mfr who buys an SUV in 2024, this is absolutely freaking superb. Buy yourself a bullshit mobile that at least doesn't directly pollute. Outstanding 🙌

There's nothing wrong with being selfish, I like my SUV. I wish it was a hybrid but that model didn't come in hybrid. I put myself first.

Compact suvs aren't a problem, assuming hybridization at the very least. The issue it seems to me, are the mammoth 3-row vehicles and pickup trucks driven by people who don't have use for 3-rows and truck beds. The real issue is people being sold on cars they don't need for some sort of cred. It's very telling that most 3-row suvs and pickup trucks don't have a hybrid model.

Volvo needs to chill there supposed to be an affordable car that offers reliability utility and sportyness for a fraction of other car brands. I'd rather get a v70 for what there asking
