    Ingrid! Soak your chia seeds! When you soak them they absorb an insane amount of water, instead of them absorbing all the water in you. You don't want them to do that, because it can steal liquid you need for your digestion. So just put them in a jar in the fridge overnight with a decent amount of water, and use them the next day, or just use the soaked seeds periodically since they can stay soaked in the fridge for a while. Just a health tip:)

    The way you were cutting the avocado was incredibly dangerous

      There are different methods for cutting things...maybe that method works for her. I actually cut avocados in a way that may seem even more dangerous but I have never cut my finger. Knock on wood! :)

    for the avocado pudding I do it a little differently but it still tastes AMAZING!
    I use 1 small avocado (to make 1 serving of pudding) + 1.5T of cacao, 2T of sugar free maple syrup, chocolate extract/oil thingy I got from iherb, and finally some frozen coconut milk (like two ice cubes worth) to give it a creamear soft serve type of texture.. ITS AMAZING and i encourage everyone to try it

    The pasta recipe looks super yummy! I’m going to try it tonight! If someone’s interested, here’s my favorite quick and healthy recipe (I’m italian…we are hardcore pasta eaters!): put one big tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil in a pan. When it gets hot, add 5-7 leaves of fresh basil and a quarter of a red onion. Let them fry for about 30 seconds, middle heat. Then add 10-12 grape tomatoes (previuosly cut in half) and let them cook for about 8-10 minutes. Squeeze them a little bit with a fork when you are halfway. Add salt and black pepper. Cook around 70gr of pasta…et voilà!

    Just al little tip! Put the chia seeds in a glass with a little bit of water and leave dat for a few minutes, it becomes a kind of gel en then you can put the smoothie on top en you just have to mix that with a spoon, that is how they work and you get the full use out of them!

    Am I the only one who just watch videos for what they are and learn a bit in the process if I can? Some people honestly read just way too much into everything, they complain about everything, or they are trying to be super know-it-all. Negativity wont really lead you anywhere, just have in fun in life and if you are not 100% satisfied with something either do something about or just let it go. Not looking for hate just my personal opinion in a lot of the comments. Great vid, Miss

    Oh no, chia should be soaked before eating to get all the good stuff! Otherwise they will just go through your system like hard pieces of p.. sand. Put chia in a cup with water, it'll expand x9 times it size. Whole chia jelly is great for dieting (added after blending) to add texture, flush out toxins and makes you fuller. Blending the soaked seeds will give you the omegas and all the good stuff. :) You can also make a jelly or pudding with the plain chia jelly with added sweetener and raw cacao for example.

    • @Natallz
      @Natallz 10 років тому +4

      Yes, Ingrid he is right! In the directions on all Chia bags it says you must soak them for at least 20 minutes. My mother does this.

      What are your thoughts on flax seeds?

    • @papperogue
      @papperogue 10 років тому

      Flax: They have a lot of cadmium.
      Btw, I think Ingrid probably knows a lot about chia and health food, so not soaking them was maybe making this smoothie more "user friendly"? But you can toss them into the blender with extra water, wait, then blend.

    Tip for measuring honey! (Also works for maple syrup or molasses) Spray the inside of the measuring cup with a non-stick spray. It slides right out of the measuring cup - no scraping down the cup or sticky messes! :) Can't wait to try that avocado pudding - looks scrumptious!

      ***** Sadly our farmer's markets don't have much variety here :( Organic food is a bit more expensive in normal stores and definitely pricier in special organic food shops. It must be easier to get it in the US but it's not suitable for my budget here :/

    you have to be careful with chia seeds.. you need to either soak them in water first and they will expand about 5x in size. if you don't, then you should eat less than a teaspoon - yes a teaspoon - because the chia seeds will expand in your system. if you eat too many they can expand in your digestive system and cause bowel 'blockages'

    HI Ingrid I just made a delicious smoothie inspired by the one you made in this video I added
    - spinach
    - 3 oranges (tiny)
    -1/2 of an apple
    -a can of pineapple
    -pineapple juice (just pour the whole can of pineapples in)
    -lemon juice
    -lemon and orange zest
    -honey( amount depends on what u prefer)
