Thank you so much for coming to sit with us and being so open and vulnerable. Your story and experiences have resonated with so many people and your voice is healing people. May Allah bless you in abundance for your bravery and protect you. I love you and I am so grateful to have found a sister in you🤍
I didn’t realise how much I needed to hear this all vocalised. I grew up in the UK where there is a big black Muslim population, but dominated by Somalis who have similar ideologies as the Arabs and navigating that growing up was hard and trying to unlearn it now it’s so hard - as you perfectly said a hijabi life crisis 😂 May Allah continue to protect you both, I feel so seen 🤍🤍
I am in the process of learning more about Islam, and hopefully reverting by the end of 2024. So grateful to have found fellow black muslim women during this journey. Thank you, I love this!!
This was healing! Went from 30 to 23k on my Islam focused TikTok & I couldn’t with getting big. Realizing being black n Muslim was a reason for causing cognitive dissonance for THEM…thank you, may Allah increase y’all ❤
Loved this so much, i’m East African (Sudani), but there’s not much representation for EA who look like me. I see myself in the both of you & I am so grateful that you provide platform & inspiration for Muslimahs who look like us 🥹💕 may Allah reward you both with the best of this dunya & the akhira
As-salamu alaykum, I love this so much, I'm about 25 years older than you, and I was born Muslim and have had this battle my whole life. Yes, from proud generations of Muslims in my family from the USA, the oldest musjid in the USA was built by Black.
Thank you for speaking on so many topics that need to be spoken about. As an Asian islander Muslim I related to some aspects and loved the touch on African Muslim history that isn’t talked about enough amongst mainstream Islamic media allahumabarik
I feel like the definition of modest has been transformed so much now and days. Yea some women show their neck, wear jeans and etc and YES u are still an hijab ur just learning but at the end of the day Allah said we should wear loose clothing preferable abaya and an hijab the only thing that can show is hands and face and some believe in covering that too I don’t agree wit judging progressing hijabs but let’s also know what we’re doing isn’t right and acknowledge our wrong and this from a person who is still learning and progressing in my hijab
I love this!! Especially the point about being a non-hijabi and giving salaams. The empathy from Tahira is beautiful, in a world where we still have “born Muslims” admonishing reverts for mistakes or shortcomings, that comment made me feel so seen and appreciated. May Allah swt bless you both for this episode. Sincerely, a Black Muslim woman revert from NY 💅🏿
New Subscriber here and I am not sure of why this didn’t go viral. From 25:00 to 30:00 no crumbs were left… none. Also can you provide details about your beautiful Kaftan ❤ I think it’s really important to expand on the fact that, our desire as Muslim woman to be married is not based on world standard. Marriage is important in Islam because it is 50% of our deen so there is no need to hide your desire. However we do need to protect ourselves, and following the guidelines for courtship is our protection. Allah knows best. To do it any other way, is to set yourself up for what Essa Tessa experienced. This was a phenomenal chat. And I look forward to watching the next one.
Ramadan Mubarak beautiful 🥹🤍, this comment warms my heart and I’m so grateful to Allah got bringing in such an amazing group of women into our community. We’re so excited to share what we have in store for you all🤭
So glad we were able to bring to light a topic that resonated with so many people. I hope this inspires those who perpetuate these values onto black Muslims to change their ways
🎉I wear short sleeves & pants to fit in when in public by myself & at work. I learned it’s too dangerous to be visibly Muslim in places like Florida, Louisiana, Oregon, Mississippi, & Colorado. I refuse to fight with angry racists people. Even Christian family set me up & tried to get me put in prison for being Muslim! 😢😢😢😢😢 We must move in silence 🤫 to communities where we’re happily welcomed🎉
Salam ladies, the algorithm was algorithing with this one. i havent watched the whole video yet, maybe you will talk about it later (i hope so!) but if you dont know about Mustafa Briggs, he's a young scholar we all should know about. He wrote two books about Black Muslims and he has done many interviews on youtube. look him up!
I’m a white Muslim revert, married into an Arab family who has been super non judgmental, accepting and loving. However, my husbands friends’ wives, who are born-arab Muslims, put the PRESSURE on me to be a “traditional Muslim” wife which really means “traditional” in the Arab sense. From the clothes I wear (I’m a hijabi), to how my house is decorated, to how I speak and interact with people in our close circle, it is ALWAYS spoken about that there is something I need to change or fix. I have been Muslim for several years before meeting my husband. My journey is Islam is so deep and personal and it still shocks me to this day that if I do not fit into the “Arab” version of Islam and what that looks like, that I am not seen as Muslim. I am questioned constantly if my husband forced me to wear hijab (no), if I know there are 5 prayers (obviously) and if I know how to recite Al-Fatiha (yes). As I’ve gone deeper into my faith I have wanted to make the decision to wear niqab. My circle of “friends” were aghast and acted like this was the craziest I had ever said and I should “ask my husband first” because in their specific country the majority of women do not wear niqab. My husband does not care what I wear or how I practice my faith Alhamdulilah. I have also had to work through my own view of white privilege while now being apart of a minority. I heard one Muslim woman (can’t remember who) said “being a hijabi does not erase your white privilege” and I feel that in my heart. The discrimination a white hijabi experiences is miles apart from the discrimination of Muslims of darker skin tones. And yes, there is intense racism in the Arab world. I have been told by my in-laws and our friends’ parents that my white skin is so beautiful and that their grand children who are more white are more beautiful. It is absolutely insane.
i really enjoyed the video. however muslims not subscribing to zodiac signs isn't just ppl being "weird" it is apart of tawheed. i recommend the book "Fundamentals Of Tawheed by Abu Bilal Philips" He goes into detail with evidence from the qu'ran and authentic hadiths about this topic and a lot others. I used to think not subscribing to zodiac signs was a bit extreme until i read this book that explained the topic properly ;).
You know, I actually really appreciate this comment. Thank you so much for sharing this resource, I’m gonna look into it. Thank you so much once again 🤍
Hi! I actually made a video on different black owned Muslim brands. I recommend supporting these brands instead. Asumayah Shop is also great for modest clothing as well!
This show is EXACTLY like ‘Honest Tea Talk’, which was a brilliant panel discussion between three young black Muslim women. The show ceased after Covid. There names were Aliyah Umm Raiyaan, LaYinka Sanni, and Sumayah Hassan. It would be very appropriate for Aisha to acknowledge the original women who paved the way for these types of UA-cam shows--especially since her show has almost the exact same title! ua-cam.com/video/CYrQ3ht3cEo/v-deo.htmlsi=STrAl0tsskmjhmMi
Quran Surah 46:9 Say, “I am not the first messenger ever sent, nor do I know what will happen to me or you. I only follow what is revealed to me. And I am only sent with a clear warning.” Jesus in the Bible John 14: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again 3 days later, He was the perfect sacrifice whom God have sent because he was sinless and perfect, How will your sins be payed for if the wages of sin is death? Just like a criminal standing before a judge in a court case, should the criminal be set free after committing murder just because he apologizes to the judge? A just judge will send that person to jail because they broke the law. God is just as well. In Christianity since we all sin and fall short of Gods glory He made a way for us to be redeemed from the death we deserve by sacrificing his son Jesus to take the place for us. We obtain this gift of salvation by having faith believing in Jesus Christ as our savior. Through Him is how we will all make it to heaven, How will you enter Gods kingdom?
In Islam, sincere repentance for sins committed against yourself entails fulfilling specific conditions, admission of wrong, uttering any expression of repentance, committing never to do it again, and regretting having done it. When it comes to crimes committed against other humans, seeking forgiveness from the person wronged is necessary. Otherwise, restitution must be made on the Day of Judgment when everyone will be held accountable for their actions. The teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) underscore the importance of seeking forgiveness from those we have wronged. In one Hadith narrated by Abu Huraira, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever has wronged his brother, should ask for his forgiveness (before his death), as (in the Hereafter) there will be neither a Dinar nor a Dirham. (He should secure pardon in this life) before some of his good deeds are taken and paid to his brother, or, if he has done no good deeds, some of the bad deeds of his brother are taken to be loaded on him (in the Hereafter)." (Sahih Bukhari) Is your logic that, it makes more sense that a person isn't held accountable for their own action but an innocent person is instead held accountable for the actions of everyone else but himself? that doesn't sound like justice but "For you is your religion, and for me is my religion.” (Quran 109:6) Jesus just like Muhammad (SAW) is a prophet and messenger sent as a mercy to mankind to warn us.
“O humanity! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may ˹get to˺ know one another. Surely the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous among you. Allah is truly All-Knowing, All-Aware.” - Al-Qur’an 49:13. We are one ummah, but please don’t “All Lives Matter” this issue.
I strongly disagree with the “the indigenous people of Egypt are not those who are there now” bffr. How are you gonna say the people of NF and not indigenous? Please look up North African phenotype and look into our history and you’ll know.
How can you un “arabify “ Islam when the Quran is literally written in Arabic and Mecca is literally an ARABIC country as are several Muslim countries? U say they are racist but this whole video u segregated us as back women and reduced every single talking point to our skin color. I don’t think it’s right to blame our skin color for every slight-I could easily say you have it easier in this country as an immigrant because you’ll never understand the black American woman experience and you’ll always be viewed as privileged but that would be unkind and an unfair assessment considering the fact that many American women are more privileged than you and I have 0 information about your perceived privilege🤷🏾♀️. We celebrate MLK every year yet still judge others on their skin color rather than the content of their character while accusing others of doing that to us. It’s literally projection. I’m a black American woman and disagree with nearly everything said in this video. There’s no benefit to the Marxism in Islam . Why do black women always want to segregate instead of integrate? I’m not a black Muslim, I’m Muslim. Simple as that🙄
Thank you for giving me a safe space to share my story. I appreciate you and your team so so much 💕

Simple as that🙄
Great episode! 🫶🏽 I really enjoyed the conversation ❤️
