Wow I remember this I... was in shock couldn't believe we could get a coach of his stature! Ground Chuck has arrived! Also another famous coach would come to Buffalo sports in 1979 as the Sabres would hire Scotty Bowman to be the coach and GM of the NHL team...very exciting times for sure!

Yes, Atlanta allowed the least points (129) in 1977, but they also scored a paltry 179 and had a mediocre 7-7 record: 4:41 By contrast, the Rams who won that division, allowed 146 points, but scored 309.

+Don R. Mueller, Ph.D. So? It's still one of the best defenses of all time

+Manu Ginobilis Bald Spot So, you should attend to your bald spot as you have nothing of substance under the hood.

The Bills finished 3-11 in 1977. There wasn't much to cheer about, and OJ got hurt in a Seahawks blowout of the Bills at the Kingdome. He never played for Buffalo again.

Why is it none of your video's are complete? It's like you decide to cut every one of them off after 15 - 20 minutes. The guys are in mid-sentence and the damn thing ends! Piss poor way to post videos dude!

Chuck Knox: Another in a long line of second level head coaches from the School of Hard Knox (Knocks),

The stigma he had to deal with was not going past the title game on several occasions.

The most disappointing loss the Falcons had in 1977 was the 3-0 loss to Buffalo.

They had an outstanding defense, but a terrible offense. They literally blocked a punt near the end, only to watch the hideous offense go 4 and out

Chuck Knox started with nothing and put together a team that won the AFC East within 3 years. Marv Levy was essentially handed a championship team (by Bill Polian) and yet couldn't win one Super Bowl---if Knox had had the personal Levy did he would have won each of those Super Bowls.

Knox built great teams in Los Angeles, Buffalo and Seattle.........just couldn't make the super bowl

Knox was not in Buffalo in 83, 84, 85 or 86 and Levy didn't show up until later in 86. Few of Levy's players in the 90s were on Knox's teams in the 80s.

@@ginzod Chuck Knox " guided " the Bills for 5 seasons, compiling a regular season record of 37-36, a .507 winning percentage. In 2 playoff appearances with Buffalo he was a dusmal 1-3, .333 winning percentage.
