    Yes that's one way, but some people don't know what gear to be in relative to speed because it varies from car to car. You need to show people how to use Performance shift mode. Performance shift mode drops the car in the lowest gear relative to speed automatically for about 7 seconds. You'll want to move the stick to Manual to maintain that gear. Once you get on the gas move the stick back to drive.
    That's the proper way to roll race in an automatic camaro
    Also to turn off all nannies its holding TC off for 10 seconds not 7. Further, there's 2 different TC off modes: Double tab = Competitive Mode with stabiitrak. Holding 10 seconds turns off all nannies including stabilitrak (ESC Off)

      @@r6meoo Also as a matter of advice, don't let the fact that double tap TC Off fool you, Stabilitrak is not bad to have, what it does is keeps the car going straight if and/or when your tires break loose. Keeps both tires spinning evenly to avoid fishtailing with in reason. On the street Competitive Mode with stabilitrak is a good thing, on a drag strip, you can turn off everything with a good tire and not spin the tire. By good tire I mean R888R's or Nitto 555R2's. For a street tire those two tires are basically drag radials that are legal on the street, think Mickey Thompson Street S/S But with nearly indistinguishable difference in traction. MT's will be better on strip, they are good on dry hot days on the street, but in rain they would be suicidal to drive with. R888R's and 555R2's are better in rain conditions, are excellent on the strip and just as meaty on the street as the MT S/S tires.
      Also Performance mode kicks in automatically under 3 conditions: 1. Hard braking. 2. Hard fast acceleration. 3. Hard turns
      Otherwise you can activate Performance shift mode yourself by pressing the gas pedal hard and fast instantly to the floor then letting off instantly.

      Can I down shift with the paddle shifters or will I brake the trans ??

    • @Fluke2SS
      @Fluke2SS Місяць тому +1

      @@brucewiemer8341 You can downshift or upshift on a stock trans tune with paddle shifters and you would need to as long as you are in manual mode. It works the way it is supposed to and as you would expect. You would just have to know how far to downshift so you don't redline the RPM's or hit the rev limiter. The A10 trans is a strong trans, it would take a lot to break them. But that doesn't mean it is indestructible. Your engine will probably blow a rod/piston before the Trans goes out.
      What's different in my case is at 94-100% throttle my car will upshift automatically. That is how my trans is tuned to operate in manual mode. I don't use paddle shifters to downshift though, I just put the stick back into Drive and let the trans auto downshift. On a stock trans tune it would work the same if you moved the stick back into drive. You actually see me doing this in some of my post May 8th 2024 videos.

    I got a 2010 2LT RS with paddle shifters , will floor it at lights sometimes in first and quick shift up to fourth before having to slow down, not so fun when you can’t climb to redline every gear 😖

    Hey bro i have a question? Do u always run your car on tour? Is that setting better ?

    • @Evil2SS
      @Evil2SS  Рік тому +1

      Yess for when you are roll racing it is better because it shifts better only for 10 speeds. However track mode does make the car down shift more aggressively and sound better.

    • @Fluke2SS
      @Fluke2SS Місяць тому

      @@Evil2SS This is also not true. Touring mode is a bad mode to be in in a roll race, unless you have the 1LE and you are NOT shifting at top RPM ranges (A dig race in the 1LE would be good in touring mode i.e. 1/4 mile run) Your first run without shifting to high RPM ranges is better for touring but not optimized for throttle response.
      Touring Mode: More gas pedal to = 100% throttle
      Sport Mode: Less gas pedal to = 100% throttle
      Track Mode: 1:1 ratio, less pedal than touring, but more than sport mode.
      In the case of a 1LE these modes also change your suspension settings not just your throttle response.
      In the case of either non 1LE and 1LE versions of the car the drive modes change your transmission aggression level as well. How fast it shifts up or down relative to the type of driving.
      Also Performance Shift mode is more aggressive in activation in Sport and Track modes, and much lagged behind in Touring mode.

      @@Fluke2SS the way my car is tuned it will shift harder on tour mode. If you’re stock then yes track mode is best, since it gives you that instant throttle.

    • @Fluke2SS
      @Fluke2SS Місяць тому

      @@Evil2SS If as you say your car is tuned: Shifting harder is not the same as shifting faster. You can tune harder shifts into the transmission but it is not going to be the same as faster shifts.
      For example my car is modified: Produces about 610 hp at the crank or about 510 rwhp if you believe mustang dyno numbers. Dyno numbers are a crapshoot in terms of trust worthiness. Dyno numbers can be faked on any Dyno system.
      I go by logs that I take on the drag strip. My trans is tuned, and shifts gears in as low as 1/10th of a second according to my data logs. Now, there are a lot of factors to consider when checking data logs, such as Altitude above sea level, Air Density, Weather, IAT's, Trans Temp, etc. But on my drag strip video on May 8th 2024 I dropped a 11.6 1/4 mile run with a 0-60 in about 3.67 seconds. The conditions of the run was: ~2500 DA, ~77 degrees F, and an altitude above sea level of ~700 feet.
      The point is drive modes change shift times and if your touring mode is not specifically tuned for it, your statement doesn't make sense. You need a transmission tune to change the drive modes. Now maybe when this video was released it wasn't tuned as you say it is now.
      Furthermore, You don't want to use touring mode in certain circumstances. If you car is a 1LE, then you are slowing yourself down using touring mode even more so in a roll race where traction isn't an issue, suspension matters, along with throttle response, shift speeds, shift rpm's, and high rpm horsepower rating are taken into consideration.

      @@Fluke2SS my tune makes the car shift harder and faster compared to when I had it stock. I have a trans tune it’s set to shift harder and faster on touring mode. Probably should’ve explained that a bit better

      That depends on what transmission you have. The A8 is not the same, as the A10. The A8 can hit about 60mph in 1st gear before needing to shift, the A10's shift at about 35-40mph in 1st gear, and again at 60-70 mph from 2nd to 3rd gear. 3rd to 4th kicks in about 70-100mph. 4th to 5th kicks in about 110-120 mph (some of these speed ranges depends on the transmission tune but ranges from factory to tuned depending on modifications)
