I have to renew some golden eagle decals on my 77 and I do not have any confidence whatsoever and absolutely know I’m bound to fail at it so I’m glad to see you were able to put yours on fine.😂
Wow, that is definitely a job designed to test a mans patience. Nice job. I'm rebuilding a 77 CJ-5 right now, and I always like reminding myself how great they look when they are all put back together. Keeps me motivated to get mine done.
Good luck! I was in the same boat. It was 2 years before I had this one completed and ready for the road. It’s all worth it now that it’s pretty much done.
Good job! Do you think theat gel product helped at all or is it a waste of $? Last vinyl I did I used soapy water but about to do the roof of my Mustang which is probably about as large as your hood area.
I applied the gel incorrectly in this video. I had the whole hood heated up in the sun which caused the gel to evaporate pretty quickly. It was stressful! If I were to do it again I’d warm up the graphic but keep the hood cool. I would use the gel again if I had to do it. I assume it evaporates slower than soapy water.
No, I had to estimate based on internet pictures. There’s land marks to base your placement off of such as the windshield latch and the hood grooves. The placement wasn’t all that difficult.
Thanks! I’m not sure of the exact color. The paint was decent enough when I got the CJ so I never messed with it. It’s a darker metallic green. All I know really.

It’s not the funnest process but it’s doable. Good luck!

Once you drive it and the heat hits it the bubbles will start to go away
