They sell you the name, the prestige, the exclusivity. Acquiring a Patek is an indication that you’ve already made it in life. You may like it or not, but that doesn’t change this fact. That’s how the world works. Either way, it’s not something that concerns me… I’m nowhere near being able to buy a watch of this caliber. I just like watching them on UA-cam. Cheers!

By the way, I would go for the 5712 because of the de-centered oscillating mass displayed of the movement, another real beauty. I started to comment because I think I saw somewhere, I don't remember where, that Patek had adjusted their watches deepness resistance but guaranteeing those meters, something I think they weren't doing or something like that. Hi. First of all congratulations on probably the best grail watch! Actually love your AP Royal Oak as well. Such a treat to see both in the same video. However, I had a quick question. As accurate the Patek is supposed to be, I'm not sure if it's my understanding or something might need to be checked on this particular watch. I'm speaking about the 24 hr dial at the 6 o'clock position. Are you sure it's not a second time zone feature? The reason I'm asking is, in the b rolls, the time on the watch was mostly set at 1:45 or 1:50 PM. Which is 10 or 15 mins before 1400 hrs. However the 24 hr dial was past the 1400 hrs and nearing the 1500 hrs mark. Maybe a quick check at the dealer can fix it. Didn't intend to scare your friend or make him feel bad about his purchase. Just want to ensure no one else points this out to him. :)

I have a rep of the 5726. The blue is a bit off along with the color of the moon phase but I love it. Hopefully one day I can afford a gen although $100k is pretty wild. Still down from the market peak though where they were running at $125k on the low end 😮 Edit: I stand corrected. $272k?!? For an SS model is absolutely wild
This is absolutely what is wrong with the watch industry. When you see this many watches in the secondary market office and not in a AD retail store it almost devalues the watch. This is precisely why the consumer can’t go into a AD and purchase a watch because they sold them all to guys like this. I will no longer purchase a Patek, AP or Rolex because of this, it’s absolutely fucking ridiculous seeing this many watches in the hands of a non AD. If your not offended then your not a real watch lover in my opinion.
Totally agree. Covid was also a catalyst for these ridiculous prices on the second hand market. I've often heard the saying that people have more money than brains and if they did not pay these ridiculous prices, they would come down. Look at the market for pre-owned G wagons. A dealer by me adds a premium of $50k-$80k on top of the pre-owned price.

I prefer Longines overall but FC does make some nice watches as well. Just picked the FC Power Reverse Big Date at a good discount a couple weeks ago and it’s really lovely! Definitely feel the brand is underrated.

I have small wrists, don't mind getting the Reduced over the original Speedmaster. Thinking a black Speedmaster and a white dial Cartier Santos would do a good combo.

But when they wont let you buy it......i think its time to bin them off and move on. I would never buy a Nautilus. It is not worth 100 k. For this price one gets much better top notch watches. Even a Rolex Day Date whatever model and configuration outplays the Nautilus by length. Not talking about heavy hitters from A.L. usw. The Nautilus as the Royal Oak are just over hyped watches.

6:47 in that watch should cost $10 its nice but like $10 nice and I llove watches its just so basic and generic.
Overpriced and overhyped. Definitly doesn‘t look like a 100.000$ watch! No way! Not worth the money!
