The hand tram in Girdwood has had issues with people getting injured in the past few years ago their improving it. You missed out on the hand tram In Homer at Grewingk Glacier hike. They can be dangerous because it's a lot of work and people can get stuck or shoved off from the force at either end when helping others. Cool that you got to see Crow Pass hike.
Girdwood was such a fun little town with so much to do! We did the Grewingk hike in Homer too, but weren’t able to do the tram because we had to catch our boat back to town :( next time!
If you ever return to anchorage in the summer hike the entire crow pass trail. Its a 22 mile overnight hike but the most beautiful trail in metro anchorage.

Adding to our list now! It was one of our top day hikes in all of Alaska, so can’t imagine how beautiful it is even further into the mountains 🏔️😁🥾

We wish we could - but we have already made it back to the lower 48 to head south for the winter. Have some beers in Anchorage for us!
