Worked on bmw e39 2001. 530d with M package.
Removal process might be slightly different on cars with automatic transmission and with different armrest (but screws are on the same places).

It is sticked with 3m tape that came with the holder

Look at how jacked up that trim looks, not the way to do this if your trim isn’t beat.
