I’m currently in the process of building and filming my build and it’s made me appreciate how much time and effort each one of these videos takes. Thanks for everything you’ve taught me and continue with the great videos! :)
I have seen several hot swap keyboard mods, and this is my first time seeing someone do the soldering! It was super cool to watch, thank you for showing your process
@@michaelnakakubo6791 I’m about to build a board and I never knew that. I was planning to solder the corners first, but didn’t consider the “tightening”.
I just ordered the horizon color variant of this keyboard for 43€ on amazon. That's about half the MSRP. I couldn't believe it. Can't wait to get it tomorrow and mod it :D
I learned something here. Only solder one pin of the switch then fix the alignment while reflowing the solder. Do this for all the switches leaving the other pin of the switch unsoldered. Once all switches are permanently in place, solder the rest of the pins in one go. Smart.
I know you can’t see the pink switches once the keys are on, but they’re still really pretty💕 pink is my favorite color. another great video :3ildcat☺️
Dieses Video hat mich sehr inspiriert!Ich habe die gleiche Schlüsselkappe und Schalter im Video im offiziellen Amazon-Laden in Akko gekauft!Ich kann es nicht weglegen, raub mich nicht aus!
Oh, the leds. You 're the best. By the way, next time, to show the leds, imo, show it in the dark. Everybody use the keyboard in the night, with low light. The keycaps we have most here is translucent for the rgb, but this akko doesn´t have this and i didn't saw any review on youtube that show rgb with no translucent keycaps.
Hi, loved the video! The vibe is great! I was wondering what size of LED did you use? I am looking to try and make it also but don't know which size to buy. Is it the regular 3mm LED?
I really feel stupid putting this out there, but I tried making my own mechanical keyboard build today, my first ever build. Things were going okay, I bought a hotswappable keyboard, took out the switches, disassembled them all, and then proceeded to lube through a tutorial of Taeha, but about ten switches in, I noticed that when I put the switch back together, it sort of just... didn't work. When I pressed on the switch, it would just stay stuck down, so I disassembled it and looked at it, and the copper/gold plate (the little plate in the back of the switch) seemed to be out of place.. I disregarded it and went ahead and lubed a few more switches, having no problems with the next seven or so, then the same exact thing happened and I just lost all motivation, so I gave up, put the switches back together to avoid any further damage. For reference, I was using gateron blacks - does anyone know what that plate in the switch is called and is there any tips so that I don't screw that up again? I felt so genuinely stupid, but as my first build, I don't want to be too harsh on myself over it.
If you put the stem in wrong direction, the contact (copper plate) would get damaged and it won't work. Not sure with this reason or not, but anyway I guess you somewhat damaged the contact parts.. sad.
could you please make a quick tutorial or showing of how you could "straighten" the stabilizers' wire in a future video or if there any other ways to do it without a syringe
Awesome video. Just wondering, before soldering the LEDs, you fill up 2 holes per switch (not where the LED legs go) what are these? Why is this required?
Dunno if this was asked already but do you keep these keyboards for personal use/collection or sell them afterwards? Or are some of these commissioned builds? Asking coz that's a lot of keyboards lol
you should make a tofu 60% acrylic build with ZealPC sakurio switches and pair them with the akko Tokyo Tour keycaps. I'm sure alot of people would like that
Two things: 1. don't push and heat, heat and push, you risk lifting the trace. 2. don't push connectors into their sockets without supplying equal force from the other side unto the socket, again, you risk lifting the traces. Source: done did it myself.
hey wildcat! little late to the party... I was wondering why you straighten the wires for the stabilizers, does it make the stabilizers better in anyway? do they sound better?
I love how the sound of the stabilizers snapping in are in time with the beat of the music
I like how he is very conscious of that
I swear these keyboards are making me want more keyboards, then realize I don't need them a lot. ): But I still want these keyboards

The difference is like day & night wow!!! Nice job! I admire your patience :) Btw I can see that you typing speed in English got a lot faster. :3
same how does he lube all those without going insane ;-;
Gotta love the way these videos are edited
Your technique in soldering switches is superb! Solder 1 joint then squeeze+reflow then solder the other joint
Hey I noticed this as well. Is it some sort of a technique?
It is easier to tighten the switches this way, because you can't reflow both pins
@@michaelnakakubo6791 I’m about to build a board and I never knew that. I was planning to solder the corners first, but didn’t consider the “tightening”.

You should make an unedited video (of course I mean time wise I really like the music and the way you edit your screen on the typing sounds)

hope you see this, do you have to solder after desoldering or can you just leave the switch there?

With the beats. Nice
Bend the leads of the leds outwards so the don’t fall out instead of taping
That's one of worst way to solder the leds if you ever consider desolder them.
If you will never desolder, of course, that's better
