This is SO sad. They are NOT a cult group!! They are amazing because they pursue real intimacy with God. People are so dead to God nowadays it's sad. It's just horrible. Well it's not like Jesus didn't warn us about these things. I am very awake by the way. Maybe instead of our eyes being 'wide open', they need to squint a little, just so that we get spiritually naive and stop looking at bad things. Rant over.

+Darren Josiah I was born and grew up Baptist and attended for 26 years. I played on the worship team there for almost 9 years and was getting really tired of the "it's this way or not at all" attitude. People became toxic and stuck in their opinions and getting into other people's business. So my wife and I left the church to look for a church where it wasn't about what religion you are and we ended up going to her Uncles church where he is the worship director and in charge of the operations of the church. Their sign by the street says, "Relationship, Not Religion". Been playing with the worship team there for over 2 years now. I love it.

I know someone who struggles with extreme depression and suicide, and I showed them this comment and it really helped them. Also I think that even if you suicided you still would have gone to heaven.
I lost my place, my girl and I broke up, and I was in deep pain from my friends betraying me. I started fasting and I only played this song for 4 days. I rededicated and surrendered my life to Jesus. It was through this video God spoke to me the most. I’ll never be the same. Yes I lost everything, but I gained so much more!!!!!

A week ago I got to a reddit post by mistake and it described a threesome . I was drawn by my flesh and then in a minute I knew I had to get out and confessed my sin to cleanse myself. I was disgusted with myself that I let myself read and the commenters giving stupid comments quite nonchalant . I prayed that I would be able to not be tainted by what I read , and I'm glad to say, I'm clean because He forgives. Its a lifelong challenge to stay clean especially today. I was a drug addict, homeless on the streets... God is good he always makes a way.. now I've been clean for 2 years, and not turning back..
He made me brave... I just stepped out in faith. In English we were required to write a paragraph about a defining moment in our lives, and I wanted to write about my religious journey, but felt it would not be well accepted. So I went with the time we moved.... but it didn't feel right. Then, I heard this song start playing, and I knew I couldn't turn in that paragraph. I re-wrote it, deleting an hour of work. I finished two pages about how I came to Christ in twenty minutes, and turned that in. Now, I know it was the right thing to do 🙂 and I thank God for giving me the strength to follow through in not being "ashamed" of my faith. #JESUSFREAK

This song is very special to me. It was sung as a prayer over my dad who had terminal cancer, and I played it over and over the morning of his funeral. It was a blessing then - and still is - the words are a great encouragement to me. The music is so upbeat speaking of victory and not defeat, Jesus made my dad brave then, and he makes me brave now. It's not about religion it's about relationship with God through the blood of Christ. Not about doing just accepting.
The song itself can be seen as religious. Either it being about doing or accepting, it is still about a relationship with God, which I have some problems of belief with. But it is still a very strong-hearted song, and I come back to it from time to time.

This song was playing in my church during Sunday service when i was saved !
I have not been attending church for more than 10 years, and since 5 years ago when I started to work, God was the furthest from my thoughts
Since as long as I remember, from young i have felt an emptiness within me which I have been trying to fill with different methods. I spent all my life searching the world for meaning.
However, as time pass i feel myself losing my functions. The gifts i had in my younger days has come to falter, i cant write, cant think creatively, was slowly losing the ability to experience emotion the way i was able to
Then recently for about a year I stopped photography which i loved, I had no inspiration, everything I did started feeling empty even the making videos which i loved, everything and living lost its meaning
Eventually I lost my ability to continue working my business as my weariness weighed heavily on my soul, I was completely burnt out even though I knew this business / job that I am doing fits me perfectly
Throughout this, when i felt the emptiness intensify I started going to cell groups and continued on when i felt a little better during cell group. I continued on attending cell groups for about 8 months.
Then on one Saturday, I have reached the deepest point of emptiness which actually manifested itself as a dull physical pain in my chest. I know i have reached my limit. I was dying a spiritual death.
On the next day, I carried the burden of emptiness in my heart and attended Sunday service which is my second time in Acts Church Subang in Malaysia, our band was playing " You Make Me Brave " at that time, I was touched by the Holy Spirit when church brother Raymond prayed for me during service
When Raymond prayed for me that Sunday tears started to flow into my eyes and I can fill myself being healed by the Holy Spirit
It felt like i was drowning in dark waters and all of a sudden there was light and I can breathe ! God pulled me out of the waters and made me whole !
This made me realize that without God this whole world is just an empty desert and I do not want to live life anymore without Gods presence beside me
I rededicated myself to God on that night itself with church brother Wen Hao's help and I have prayed since then for myself to get closer to God
After my week of Easter healing, I noticed my faculties returning to its former glory.
Thanks to God i have now regained my function and I now know there is a purpose in me.
Thank you God for Bethel Music, I pray Bethel Music will reach more and more souls !
