This song literally saved my life. I will always listen to this masterpiece. This song literally breathed life back into me. I had lost my best friend to an overdose, my father had went into a coma from the virus, and my mother was on her deathbed. A week after my father fell into a coma I woke up to a dead husband. He had a massive heart attack in his sleep. It felt like I was in a nightmare. For the first time in my life I felt weak, and had no one to talk to. I’m always the person everyone leans on, and always had to be strong for my children so I had so many emotions bottled up. I felt like I was going insane. I then started falling into addiction to try and cope, which really only made things worse. A month after losing my husband my mother passed due to cancer. Everyday I woke up it felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest. Sometimes I would wake up and scream at God because I wish he hadn’t woke me up. I felt like a pos mom too because I wanted to check out even though I have four beautiful children and a grandson who had just been born two weeks before my husband passed. One night as I sat on the floor with my gun ready to end it all someone I met on twitter sent me this song and said God told them I needed to hear this. I didn’t know the guy really at all at that time, but I knew it was indeed a sign. I ended up talking to that man otp later that night and poured out my heart to him. I just needed someone to listen, and he did. I’ve been clean since then, but still struggling because of the losses I’ve taken. I still cry over my husband every single day. They say it gets easier with time, but right now I just can’t see it. I just try to focus on the many blessing I do have and take things one day at a time.
I hope and pray that you truly feel the arms of Jesus holding you tight. He brought me through 30 years of active addiction. He has provided me a way out that I knew nothing about. COVID Rocked my family spiritually to the point of ruin. I'm not talking about the virus either. I have lost my job my relationship with the mother of my children and my family is on the other side. My daughter is 11 and was born extremely premature. I was recently told there in protein spilling into her urine and her kidney failure may be getting worse. She's been at 40-50% for a couple years which we've counted ourselves very lucky, but it's so scary for me to think of losing her now. Please Jesus bring her healing.
I USED TO HAVE SUPER BAD ANXIETY. It was horrible. I had it for about 4 years. I would overthink things all the time, I was scared to raise my hand in class to answer a question because I was scared to be judged, I couldn't even talk to a girl one on one because I was so anxious! I wanted to be in theatre because I liked acting but I didn't want people to judge me in a bad way for getting into theatre and being some "weird theatre kid". I never went to church, I never really believed in a god, I just did my own thing. And my life was MISERABLE. I would get suicidal thoughts, but I never attempted to do it. Then one day in 2018, my friend invited me to a Bible study at our high school. I thought about it and decided to go and check it out. And on October 9, 2018, my LIFE was changed forever. I don't remember what the person talked about at the Bible study, but I remember leaving the classroom so happy and excited to come back the next week. So I started to go to the Bible study every week and begin to learn about God. The real and living God of the Bible. After a while my friend invited me to his church and I started to go and learn even more about God and have friends to talk about God too. My anxiety started to fade away, but I still had moments where I would have anxiety attacks and freak out. And by the way, it was easy to HIDE my anxiety. So you might have someone in your life that is dealing with anxiety and you don't even know it. That's why we need to check up on our friends and actually ask them how they're doing. Going back to my story, over the summer I went to this huge church conference and on the last night, the preacher said "if anyone's going through anything, I want you to come to the front and ask God to heal you" and I remember I went to the front and I got down on my knees and I cried out to God and I said, "God, if you're actually real, if you can actually heal me of my anxiety, SHOW ME." And right after I did that, I heard GOD for the first time. And He told me "I've healed you from your anxiety right now, and it's not going to come back." And after that happened the preacher said "If anyone got healed, I want you to come up onto the stage and tell everyone" and I didn't even think about it. I went up onto the stage and told about 900 people that God had healed my anxiety! And my anxiety HAS NOT come back, and I know it never will again because that's who God is. He is the God of healing. The God of miracles! He saved my life! And He's calling you today. Jesus LOVES you and He died for YOU. You can get right with God TODAY and get saved. The Bible says in Romans 10:9 that "whoever confesses with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in their heart that God raised Him from the dead shall be saved". It's not about working your way to heaven. Thank God it isn't because there is no way we could ever work our way into heaven! It's about believing in Jesus, believing He died on the cross for you and accepting Him into your life as your Lord and Savior. Sure it can however in this song it is referring to the Darwinian “theory of evolution” this was confirmed by Joel Houston a co-writer and leader of Hillsong United who when asked said and I quote "Evolution is undeniable-created by God as a reflective means of displaying nature's pattern of renewal in pursuance of God's Word-an ode to the nature of the creative God it reflects-and only ever in part-not the SOURCE! Science and faith aren't at odds. God created the Big-Bang." This song is clearly aimed to celebrate the glory of God in nature which is certainly Biblical For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and [g]Godhead, so that they are without excuse, (Rom. 1:20) However Joel obvious believe evolution is part of the nature he praises God for despite the fact that belief stands in direct defiance to the Biblical account of a literal 6 day creation. I don't believe Joel is trying to blaspheme God, it seems he is attempting to fit these naturalistic theories into his biblical theology. I've got no issue with people working through doubts and questions, but Joel knows that most Christian reject evolution yet he puts it in a song that he knows millions of people will hear and sing and what really bothers me is he didn't really publicize his belief in evolution, but rather he slipped a subtle reference to it in a song.

I'm a Christian but I have a strong belief in science over just blind faith. I believe that science and religion must and will agree upon eachother and they should be one. It's amazing how this song speaks to me ok a different light than normal gospel because it shows both religion and science in harmony, rejoicing in the name of Jesus. I know a lot of Christians don't agree with science and a lot of what scientists say about the universe. But this song does a great jobs of showing that God is so powerful that he created everything through science. Amen

Lyrically, there are so many great images and thoughts wrapped around one theme. Amazing song. Probably a little difficult for congregational singing, but top notch nonetheless. Love the sound too! I USED TO HAVE SUPER BAD ANXIETY. It was horrible. I had it for about 4 years. I would overthink things all the time, I was scared to raise my hand in class to answer a question because I was scared to be judged, I couldn't even talk to a girl one on one because I was so anxious! I wanted to be in theatre because I liked acting but I didn't want people to judge me in a bad way for getting into theatre and being some "weird theatre kid". I never went to church, I never really believed in a god, I just did my own thing. And my life was MISERABLE. I would get suicidal thoughts, but I never attempted to do it. Then one day in 2018, my friend invited me to a Bible study at our high school. I thought about it and decided to go and check it out. And on October 9, 2018, my LIFE was changed forever. I don't remember what the person talked about at the Bible study, but I remember leaving the classroom so happy and excited to come back the next week. So I started to go to the Bible study every week and begin to learn about God. The real and living God of the Bible. After a while my friend invited me to his church and I started to go and learn even more about God and have friends to talk about God too. My anxiety started to fade away, but I still had moments where I would have anxiety attacks and freak out. And by the way, it was easy to HIDE my anxiety. So you might have someone in your life that is dealing with anxiety and you don't even know it. That's why we need to check up on our friends and actually ask them how they're doing. Going back to my story, over the summer I went to this huge church conference and on the last night, the preacher said "if anyone's going through anything, I want you to come to the front and ask God to heal you" and I remember I went to the front and I got down on my knees and I cried out to God and I said, "God, if you're actually real, if you can actually heal me of my anxiety, SHOW ME." And right after I did that, I heard GOD for the first time. And He told me "I've healed you from your anxiety right now, and it's not going to come back." And after that happened the preacher said "If anyone got healed, I want you to come up onto the stage and tell everyone" and I didn't even think about it. I went up onto the stage and told about 900 people that God had healed my anxiety! And my anxiety HAS NOT come back, and I know it never will again because that's who God is. He is the God of healing. The God of miracles! He saved my life! And He's calling you today. Jesus LOVES you and He died for YOU. You can get right with God TODAY and get saved. The Bible says in Romans 10:9 that "whoever confesses with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in their heart that God raised Him from the dead shall be saved". It's not about working your way to heaven. Thank God it isn't because there is no way we could ever work our way into heaven! It's about believing in Jesus, believing He died on the cross for you and accepting Him into your life as your Lord and Savior. Don't get me wrong I like this songs overall message, but "evolution" is in direct opposition to the Bible. So I don't believe this song is Biblically sound, unless we change "evolving" to "moving" or something.
War of Titus pick up some books. Educate yourself. Evolution is a multi faceted word with many meanings not just referring to the the Darwinian “theory of evolution”.
Sure it can however in this song it is referring to the Darwinian “theory of evolution” this was confirmed by Joel Houston a co-writer and leader of Hillsong United who when asked said and I quote
"Evolution is undeniable-created by God as a reflective means of displaying nature's pattern of renewal in pursuance of God's Word-an ode to the nature of the creative God it reflects-and only ever in part-not the SOURCE! Science and faith aren't at odds. God created the Big-Bang."
This song is clearly aimed to celebrate the glory of God in nature which is certainly Biblical
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and [g]Godhead, so that they are without excuse, (Rom. 1:20)
However Joel obvious believe evolution is part of the nature he praises God for despite the fact that belief stands in direct defiance to the Biblical account of a literal 6 day creation. I don't believe Joel is trying to blaspheme God, it seems he is attempting to fit these naturalistic theories into his biblical theology.
I've got no issue with people working through doubts and questions, but Joel knows that most Christian reject evolution yet he puts it in a song that he knows millions of people will hear and sing and what really bothers me is he didn't really publicize his belief in evolution, but rather he slipped a subtle reference to it in a song.

I'm a Christian but I have a strong belief in science over just blind faith. I believe that science and religion must and will agree upon eachother and they should be one.
It's amazing how this song speaks to me ok a different light than normal gospel because it shows both religion and science in harmony, rejoicing in the name of Jesus.

This song is written and structurally arranged like a traditional hymn, but melodically and instrumentally like a modern worship song. Lyrically, there are so many great images and thoughts wrapped around one theme. Amazing song. Probably a little difficult for congregational singing, but top notch nonetheless. Love the sound too! Only every now and then do you find songs that make you think and feel all at once, "WOW!"
