  • Wandrd is an amazing company and is always producing great products and this is another to add to the list! The Roam sling comes in a 3L, 6L, and a 9L version that can easily carry anything from your EDC gear to your camera day out. Materials that hold up and organization to match this is an all around insanely good camera sling.

    Hi Odie, I hope you are well! I had one question for you regarding the sling that I'm intrigued by! I have a prvke 31L and I supported the kickstarter for the sling - my wanderment (pun intended) is this: i was wondering if there was a way to rig the roam sling on to the molle system of the shoulder straps of the prvke. Kinda like how the wandrd Route pack attaches to the shoulder straps of the prvke and ferneh bags. I was thinking maybe we can use the accessories strap (set up to be really short) then on the roam sling side, maybe it can hook on the hoop where you can unattached the strap of the roam sling? ack i hope that made sense! would love to chat more about this with you via email if that's possible!

    I’m wandrd-ing if I should get the roam 6l version or PD everyday sling 6l? I have the v1 wandrd prvke 31l and it’s a great bag but I still mainly use my PD everyday backpack 21l v1 as my go to everyday bag. Sure the 31l is too big for everyday but I also find the PD just easier to pack and get my stuff out. So I think I’m just wanting wandrd products because they look nice but would the PD sling still be more practical?

    Dear Odie, great review. I am not sure if you are still responding to this video. I am looking for a "urban street photography" bag. I shoot with a Fuji X-T4/kit lens and usually carries an extra lens with me. I also prefer to store my wallet, keys, and mobile phone in the bag when I go out and shoot. Would you recommend the 6L or the 9L? Thanks for any recommendations or tips. I previously own the PD 6L and 10L. They are great bags, but I find the design makes the front compartment quite limited in storing anything other than something flat such as a mobile phone or extra filter lens.

    Great review, I'm currently deciding between the 9L and 6L, I have a 5L Peak Design everyday sling, but I feel like it's just a bit too small. When I have my tablet inside it is harder fit my Fuji mirrorless and lens inside. How would you compare the 6L Wandrd vs the 5L/6L PD sling?

    • @OdieMatthews
      @OdieMatthews  3 роки тому +1

      If the 5L is too small I would definitely suggest the 9L. The 9L is what I’m getting from their campaign when I backed it myself. I could use the extra room myself.

    Late to the party but this is a great video, Odie! Kudos and subbed! 🏆
    As far as I can see from vids and pics it seems to be way more accessible than the PD 6L and also larger in width. Wonder if my A7 IV with the 28-75 + another lens vertically next to it with a divider in-between would fit in. At least it looks like that. The PD might be (more) beautiful and low profile and I like its light gray inside materials for better contrast (Hello Wandrd?!) but I don't wanna have to deal with its narrow opening any more. Upsets me every time I try to get stuff in and out. And apart from that: It's way more convenient if you can grab the cam by its grip when it's packed horizontally while in the PD it's all packed vertically.

    • @OdieMatthews
      @OdieMatthews  Рік тому +1

      I agree! I think your A7 IV would definitely fit with the larger version! Thanks again!

    • @eaadruo
      @eaadruo Рік тому

      I totally agree with you! I Also had the PD 6L and I could fit my A7iii (and then the A7iv) with the Tamron 28-75 sideways and then a Viltrox 85 1.8 next to it with a divider in between. Did you happen to get this Wandrd sling? What do you think compared to it? I am between this one and the PGY Tech One Go 6L.

    • @sashinger5230
      @sashinger5230 Рік тому +2

      @@eaadruo I ordered the Wandrd and it would fit (quite tight) but I have to say that the Peak Design products are way better in terms of zippers and overall quality. They also look much better than the rather bulky ones from Wandrd imho. The contrast problem is really hard to take as well. It’s just like a black hole. In the end it’s a tough call I guess and there’s no such thing as the perfect bag but I tend to go for the PD. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I don't know if you are still monitoring this video, but I do have a question regarding the 6L bag. I do a lot of travel photography and usually carry my camera gear in a carry on bag and use a smaller bag for the day use whether it be street or landscape photography. I purchased a 3L bag from PGYTech which is OK when I use the bag for the second 7mm lens, the Manfoto ball head, a Platypod, and maybe a GoPro not assembled on a mounting device along with a couple batteries and memory cards. The Z6 camera and a smaller prime or 24-120mm lens is usually on a BlackRapid strap. I chose the PGYTech 3L because I can smash it down and put it in my larger suitcase for travel to our destination. I want to have a larger sling to be able to carry the assembled GoPro and other camera equipment while on a shoot but I still need the sling to be able to be packed easily in my luggage. The question is, does the 6L Roam able to be folded down to save space in luggage?

    • @OdieMatthews
      @OdieMatthews  Рік тому

      Hey! So it can kinda fold down but you need to take the dividers out first. It doesn’t get as flat as you might want but it can definitely be packed to an extent!

    Would a Canon 5d Mark IV with a relatively large sigma lens attached and then an extra lens ( a 50mm, 1.4 and 85mm, 1.4) - would that all fit in the 6L Roam Sling or would you recommend the 9L?

    • @OdieMatthews
      @OdieMatthews  2 роки тому +1

      Ooo good question. I would go 9L. I struggle to fit more than my Sony A6400 and my two lenses in the 6L and they aren’t that size. One is a 18-150mm and the other is a 16mm.

      @@OdieMatthews brilliant, thank you. So they are a bit smaller than the Peak Design Slings? Was looking at them in person earlier and the 10 litre seemed huge. Thought the 6 litre peak design sling looked suitable but then these Wandrd slings look a lot more boxy.
