  • Our most popular instrument ever! The MicroBass line gives you all the power of an acoustic-electric bass in a light-weight, travel-sized package. You can choose between 23" or 25" scale, fretted or fretless, and polymer strings (which give you a sound like an upright bass) or the Silverbacks (which are like a more traditional bass string). These options, combined with the piezo pickup and built-in tuner, give you the ultimate bass that is tailored to your playstyle!

      @@skaterdude7277 you'll be fine I switch between this M-Bass to my hofner to my 42" scale Upright double Bass & then to my full scale Thunderbird bass all the time and it never affected me in any way, the trick is I think, is to switch between them a lot don't just stick with one for a long time switch it up a lot. Even though ever since I got this bass I've been playing this one way more than any instrument I got, it's so fun to play and sounds so unique and dirty I love it!

    Huh, my guitar teacher had another teacher drop one of these off during class last week and i didnt recognize the brand from the headstock, but it sounded amazing and shockingly more full than the proper full sized acoustic bass we had and the action was perfect and now, here it is, in my reccomended feed. Tetra Digm A: you mustve not read it. The school bought it. Not me.
      B: Its a shortscale. But it has 20 available frets. Thats only 16 notes less than my full 24 fret electric yamaha.
      C: Believe me. Its worth it. A handmade bass that has beautiful tone and easy handling/portability without compensating volume, not to mention its electric acoustic, is worth the money. If i could record id make a demo and send it to these folks just because of how amazing this bass is. I can play stuff from the gorillaz to tool to metallica to the killers to weezer on this thing. Its a beautiful and amazing machine.

    It's like a slightly bigger U-Bass. The U-Bass has 4 less frets, but it truly is tiny. The Mico bass probably sounds a little better unplugged being guitar sized. Both instruments use the same kind of strings so they sound similar.

    • @alecrisser12
      @alecrisser12 3 роки тому

      @Jo P I disagree, it sounds pretty good for what it is. If you're comparing it to an E bass or an upright bass, then yeah, but you're comparing two different instruments that have similar but different uses in a rather unfair way. Beds are certainly a lot more comfortable than sleeping bags, but no one would want to carry around a full bed for a hike just because it's more comfortable. The acoustic body on the uke bass is for practice not performance, you can hear it fine in most situations, and it even holds up well in quiet jam sessions. When plugged in, it sounds very good, and the quality of its playability for the money when compared to a full size bass guitar it is superior. I own a comparably priced full size acoustic bass guitar, it does sound amazing compared to the U Bass, however it's only marginally louder. Anything I can play on an e Bass I can play on my U Bass with ease, but that is not the case with the full-size acoustic Bass. The internal electronics and the quality of wood on my U Bass are much higher since there's less material and labor needed for the same price.

    • @alecrisser12
      @alecrisser12 3 роки тому

      @Jo P Not from what I've seen online. I mean yeah, you can buy an acoustic bass for $100, and it may sound fine acoustically, but it's playability will be shotty at best. Something in that price range, if it has internal pickups at all would be pretty shity sounding. I've done a good amount of research on these basses, it seems like $300 for a full size acoustic bass guitar is about what you'd expect for something of reasonable quality. A good quality acoustic bass guitar costs a little over a grand. So, to carry on with my analogy, for $100 you'd get an awesome sleeping bag, but for that same money, you could buy a cheap uncomfortable mattress. Btw, $100 is a lot for a sleeping bag, but $300 is not much for an instrument.

    • @alecrisser12
      @alecrisser12 3 роки тому

      @Jo P They both average at around $260. So, I'm not sure what you're suggesting costs twice as much.

    The polymer strings are something that I didn’t think I’d like. They are remarkably easy to get used to and do impart an upright bass tonality. The nickel wrapped nylon strings are a good deal too. They impart a similar tone to any of the short scale electric bass guitars out there. This is a sold little acoustic bass, especially for the money.

    • @mgreene300
      @mgreene300 7 років тому +4

    • @nnamhor
      @nnamhor 7 років тому +2

      Green Meany guitar player first, bass player second. But as someone who builds his own guitars and basses, being off a half inch on scale length can render a bass or guitar unplayable.

    • @wokeupinapanic
      @wokeupinapanic 7 років тому

      Well considering he said "25, like a Fender", I don't see why one would have to be so pedantic as to point out 25.5, as 25" isn't as common as 24.75 or 25.5. Fenders don't even come in 25" so there's literally no reason to say more

    • @nnamhor
      @nnamhor 7 років тому

      wokeupinapanic Video made a statement of fact that was incorrect and I corrected it in a comment shorter than your criticism of whether or not someone should correct such an incorrect statement. If you have a different threshold for criticism or thought he honestly misspoke and didn’t need correction, it’s you’re opinion. Move on.

    Really really love this one! Came across it without any knowledge or anything, totally random - as if it was destiny. And what a great path if so… The sound is slick. Just the low i’ve been searching for (without going upright). Totally in love, I almost use my guitar as a second fiddle (originally a guitarist), hah!! Brought real enjoyment, no doubt. The only thing is - this newfound joy has me playing so much my fingers hurt from the friction of the strings. Do you have any tips to reduce this? How different is the sound with the steel-coating (any demos)?
    Again, so so happy it found me, and that I found it. Soul-mates ♥️

      Herbie Flowers played the bass on this track. Though David Bowie was credited with producing this album,it really was done mostly by guitarist/arranger/multi- instrumentalist Mick Ronson who got zero credit for his extensive work on this LP.
