“Well, I’ve got some pretty strong concerns about Sharia law,” Roy said while discussing his broader worries about border security and foreign aid. “And whether that’ll be forced upon the American people.”"

There are around 30 Sharia “councils” in the UK but these are not courts of law. They cannot overrule the decisions of UK courts or make decisions that are contrary to UK law. They are like other arbitration firms going by other guiding principles in making rulings.
A Christian or Jew can likewise turn to his or her sect’s canon law, and those institutions are much more numerous.
Because they have no power to enforce their rulings, paying attention to those in the first place is voluntary. This is far more practically the case than with capitalists insisting on binding arbitration agreements as a condition of employment!

    Sorry for the essay...
I'm from the UK and I can tell you that the Islamic faith or any faith is forced upon us. There are 4 Christian and Catholic schools, that are attached to churches, nearby to wear I live and plenty of non-religious schools, it's whatever you're happy for your child to be taught, alongside the regular school curriculum. We don't have Muslim schools though, so how people can say that they're taking over is absurd!
One of the only changes that bugs me is that some schools no longer do the Christmas Nativity Play, but that for purely selfish reasons. I love seeing my Niece and Nephew in Plays, and my Nephew, who's 9, has been involved in 2 Nativities and he was so cute and smashed it!
I'm a Christian, so I love seeing my Niece, Nephew, and Godson in Nativity plays. My brother is an atheist and when they moved and they had to find a new school for the kids, they went for the less religious one, which is fine because the kids love it there. They don't do the Nativity but they do have a play and the kids perform if they want to be involved, it's just not centred on the religious aspect of Christmas. The last one was epic, especially seeing both my Niece and Nephew practicing their parts! 🤩🥰 So I'm definitely not going to lose my mind when things change to accommodate more faith's and cultures. For me, the pro's of having such a cultural diverse society, outweighs any negatives.
As much as MY religion and traditions are special to ME It's important to note that MY religion is not for others, so I'd never push my beliefs or judge somebody for not believing or living a life in accordance to MY religion, that'd be ludicrous!
    * I feel I need to point out that I'm not a right-wing nutty zealot who uses some BS they spout out and say it came from the Bible as a cover and twisted excuse to justify their fascist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic, prejudice, views and practices. IF you know the Bible or have any common sense, you can see straight through their BS. All they want is power and control. To be able to tell and enforce how people live, who they can be, what they can do to/with their own bodies, make decisions about reproductive rights, taking away reproductive rights, dictating to the LGBTQ+ community about who they are, what they are, how they feel, that trans people don't feel how they feel or that they even exist, who they can marry or even love, they disguise all of that hateful bigoted BS as religion, because people might not think that they're that bad! News flash, we know that they're despicable. Not only do they spread hate, anger, fear, intolerance, prejudice, more importantly bullying, pain and heartbreak by their rhetoric but also by using the power they're given when elevated and elected when they introduce bills and laws that target, attack, dehumanise the people in the communities they're aimed at!
The other reason is that they hijacked a religion, cherry pick, and make things up to try to justify and disguise their hate filled hearts. If they actually knew the Bible, or gave a flying fu£k about living a life according to the scripture, they would try to live free of the sin, instead of knowingly and repeatedly committing the sins it describes. You'd also think that the 10 commandments would be key in guiding their life, following them would be important and breaking them would be an extreme no no! Yet they not only commit acts that would be considered sins or breaking multiple commandments, which is bad enough. It's not as if they just make the odd mistake here and there. That'd be okay, within reason, we all have made bad decisions, mistakes, errors in judgement and will many times in our lives. The major issue and giveaway that they're full of BS is that they keep committing many sins and breaking many commandments, some of the same ones over and over!
Another obvious giveaway that they're full of absolute waffle is that they attack people, like members of the LGBTQ+ community using cherry picked, put together BS from their "Bible". (certain they have their own because mine doesn't have 99% of their BS, or it's been edited and rewritten to suit their vitriol). They attack these innocent people who are living their lives, maybe just finding themselves, figuring out who they are, finding love and happiness, not bothering anyone. They slag off and malign these people with such derision, denigration, vile mockery, braindead ignorance, in such a dehumanizing way, they do this whilst hiding behind religion as their bigoted reasoning for why they continuously try to have the rights of these people so malevolently stripped away.
They do all of that under the guise of religion, however they openly support a man who's likened himself to Jesus Christon at least a couple of occasions, is worshipped as a false idol and his acolytes say that he's the second coming of God, which he encourages. Alongside that, he has more than likely, looking at his history, broken all 7 sins and violated at least 3 of the 10 commandments.
So my question is, how can you be a true believer and follower of the Bible if you support an adjudicated sexual abuser, defamer, cheat, fraud, and thief. He scams and cheats his own acolytes and abuses anyone who stands up against him.
If you get so offended by how others live because it's against your BS version of Christianity, then surely you'd be so much more angry at someone who repeatedly sins and violates the commandments and so blatantly with such disrespect, disregard and disdain, acts in every way that is contrary to the values set forth in the Bible. I know who I'd be more offended by, especially going by their own rationale and BS.
    It's just baffling to me.
Right wing domestic terrorism is the biggest threat in America and they use "Christianity" to try to justify it. How is that different than any other religious extremists? It might be controversial to say but as far as I'm concerned, that's truly the case.
We should all be happy to live in such a diverse culture, it makes our world so much more interesting, colourful, beautiful place...as long as the zealots and nut jobs don't get power. I'm a Christian but I find Buddhism to be one of the most beautiful of all beliefs and some of their practices have helped me too, so I should really say that I'm a Christian Buddhist! 🤔☺
If right-wing power hungry, greedy, immoral, corrupt people were kept out of power and peace loving, decent, honest, people with genuinely good morals and values were put in power, we would be able to free the Israeli hostages, the wrongly imprisoned Palestinians, a two state solution would have been put in place many years ago. People would be happy and living in peace, both in Israel and Palestine, Palestinians wouldn't be trying to dig their murdered loved ones from the rubble of a bombed home with their hands. They'd have enough food, water and medicine. The families of the Israeli hostages who are still missing wouldn't be tortured by their absences.
You wouldn't have a cretin in charge of Israel who paid and propped up Hamas for them to commit their heinous attack and vowed to keep the war going in order for him to stay in power. There wouldn't be so much hate toward pro peace for Palestine protestor's. There'd be no Islamophobia or Antisemitism. You would have everyone coming together in one voice calling for peace. There are so many Jewish people who want peace, they want it to stop because they can see it for what it is, and they're good people with morals, who can't stand the suffering. They're angry with Hamas, not the innocent Palestinians. People are not mad at Jewish people, we're angry with the Netanyahu and his evil government, there is a massive difference, innocent people are not to blame for an evil, immoral, corrupt, murderous, genocidal government.
Also, if we had good people in power, we would be stepping up, standing up to thee Israeli government and saying "ENOUGH! NO MORE!". We wouldn't be offering anymore free, no stings attached support. Both the UK and US right now are being Netanyahu and his government's little bitch, they're saying jump and we're asking how high? I'm asking why?
IF we're not careful, the Israeli government is going to pull us into a wider war which they seem desperate to try to start, our strong nations are more than capable of ending this, stopping Netanyahu and his group of evil, overtly genocidal, murderous loons. We need our governments to step up and realise that while Israel is our ally, Netanyahu and his cabinet are most definitely not!
Russia would have never invaded Ukraine. Ukraine wouldn't be fighting for their right to exist as a sovereign nation, and the people who have been brutally killed in the conflict would be alive and happy, the injured would not be suffering and the people left behind would not be tortured by the loss of their loved ones. Putin and his cronies would be somehow removed from power, allowing the Russian people to be free from his grasp, giving them the chance to see the truth and speak honestly about what has been happening, how they have been lied to, stolen from, broken down.
The Yazidis would have not gone through yet another attempt at a genocide on their people by ISIS, thousands of innocent men, women and children would not have been brutally murdered, tortured, raped, trafficked as sex slaves. Families would be whole, their homes, towns, everything not bombed beyond recognition . The girls and women who were sold as sex slaves who are still missing, they would be returned to their families. The families would get answers as to what happened and the whereabouts of missing family members..
    Sorry for the rant.
    Love thy neighbour all.

"Are we teaching them that God exists?"
Interesting point here, in this single question. Which outlines multiple issues.
First, he's more or less violating the first amendment by "establishing a religion".
Second, the people he criticizes are very often as much believers as he is, though they might believe in a different god. Or more exactly here, in a different interpretation of the same god.
Third, it is pretty arguable that religions, including his, are the cause of many wars. And even when they don't directly cause them, they are often used as propaganda tools. Teaching religion is not a solution, it's the problem.
Fourth, he's part of a party that hates and loathes education, near-literally waging a war on education. So any education that is not provided to immigrants is in large part his fault.
This man is a bundle of hatred and hypocrisy.

Afaik, in the bible, Jesus used to pray to God, but he isn't one, there was a misinterpretation, not to mention that it was edited by humans so it's no longer the words of God that came through Jesus.
In Islam, we pray to the God that Jesus prayed to and nobody else.
In the Qur'an, God refers to Christians as "ignorant" or at least that's my Arabic to English interpretation of the word used in the very first chapter.
This is because if Christians were to read their own bible from cover to cover today, there would be too many inconsistencies, and that because the Qur'an was so well preserved to this day, it would be reasonable to become Muslim instead.
That doesn't mean that they're ignorant because they're not Muslim, but rather because they choose not to ever question the bible to it's fullest extent.

@@K.A1224 "Afaik, in the bible, Jesus used to pray to God, but he isn't one, there was a misinterpretation"
The way I understand it, christians have elevated Jesus to being God himself as a solution to a contradiction.
God's Commandments include "Thou shall have no other god before me", but "the son" said that there is no path to God but through him, Jesus. So, Jesus places himself before God, which would be a problem... unless Jesus is God himself.
But this is just an overall trend. In the Old Testament, God was not some ethereal entity that man could never meet. He could and often would appear to people in various forms (human, cloud, burning bush...) and tell them his commands very directly. He was not an infinitely benevolent being, he was jealous, vengeful, murderous and sometimes genocidal. He was not omnipotent, as someone could win over him in a wrestling match. He was not omniscient as he made some bad decisions that he regretted later on. Sin was punished by death, as it is the end of a man's existence.
In the New Testament, I'd argue he became an entirely different character, something akin to pokemon evolution. He was now a kind of mystical entity, impossibly perfect, immutable, benevolent, and limitless. Never seen in the world but through his works. Though he will still torture you for all eternity for the crimes of a near-infinitely distant ancestor. Or your crime of not believing in him. That's not quite clear, but equally arbitrary. And thus sin because punished by an eternity of torment, as death would be too short to atone for a thought crime against an infinite being.
He is the be-all-end-all of anything good in the world, and will scapegoat Satan or mankind for anything bad.
Basically, God had to be the bestest God of all because "my religion is betterer than yours".
So, I agree with you, based on the writings, Jesus was not meant to be God. But his believers had to elevate him to being God as a result of conflicting teachings
(Though I'd argue that some of these teachings, when of actual moral value, were just intended as metaphorical guidelines rather than literal commands.)
My main two arguments to that are Jesus' sacrifice, which is totally meaningless if he is actually an Eternal God, and Satan's temptation, which would basically amount to an attempt to offer men's kingdom to the Creator and Ruler of the whole world, like trying to bribe a billionaire with pocket change. There are apologists that defend these points, but it's all specious arguments.

Britain contributed to the conflict in Gaza through the Balfour Declaration of 1917. This declaration expressed support for the establishment of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine, without adequately considering the rights and aspirations of the Arab population living in the region. This declaration laid the groundwork for the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948, leading to the displacement and dispossession of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, including those in Gaza.

I live in the outskirts of London and I'm there often. It is one of the greatest cities on Earth because of its diversity. Londoners elected a man to be mayor (Sadiq Khan) not because he was Muslim, but because he was the best choice in terms of his policies and the party which most represents London (Labour). Him being Muslim didn't stop people voting for him because thankfully most Londoners are not brain dead racists who only see race.
