Nobody Can Replace
Ali Campbell..One Of My
Most Favrt Singers & The Band UB40 👌❤️
Best Wishes Frm New Zealand 🇳🇿
Matt Doyle can! 😂
Ali is the Heart and Soul of UB40, without question.
UB40 are absolute legends and they meant so much to many of us-in particular, growing up in ‘80’s/‘90’s. Keep up the great work. Thank you 🙏🏿 ❤😂
You nailed it. They were part of us. They were part of us growing up.
Yes they are, but Ali Campbell is only the singer. The original band are a separate entity.
I’m 19 and I grew up listening to ub40 and other amazing bands glad to say I’m still listening to them and won’t stop
I am very pleased that young people like you are also discovering the band UB40 and like it😊💚👌🏼
Same here at 23. Saw them live at Koko last night!
Ali Campbell has such an iconic voice. I grew up listening to UB40 and I love their music just as much today as I did back then. Their music will always stand the test of time.
Their music holds very special memories for me throughout my life.
Such a shame that the group don't all perform together.
UB 40 will always be 1 in spirit. Their legacy is outstanding.
Always Loved UB40 and Ali Campbell is the true voice of the band for me
My babysitter would always play ub40 when I was 4yr old....im 42 now love ub40
Ali Campbell is and ALWAYS will be the true voice of UB40 ❤✌🏻
As the legend himself says - the rest are just tribute bands…
Ali the voice without the music
Not only Ali his brother Robin is just as big a part of UB40 aswell
I will always love UB40.♥️
Proud to be from Birmingham when UB40 are around❤
I would be proud too. But can't you talk some sense into Ali Campbells head??
Ali is looking great. Rest in peace astro. Isn't it sad such a great band split up..
love you ali campbell thank you and ub40 for all this wonderful reggae music
Just seen them live in Leeds & they were absolutely INCREDIBLE. Life changing to see a legend I’ve been brought up on in person. Safe to say he’s still got it. Much love Ali❤️
I wish andi Peters and the young lady from the Saturdays were the full time presenters going forward. For the first time in a number of years I feel I want to watch a full programme. Refreshing these 2 good mix.
This is Andi Peters ? Good grief i dont recognize him
I have loved UB40 and Alis voice since I first heard their music when I was 9 😄 seen them live 8 times....last 2 concerts were Ali & Astro. Still gutted about the split, but I'm loyal to Ali, he IS the voice of UB40, and the rest would be nowhere without him. ❤💛💚
Alis voice + reggae music have always been my favourite, literally every day I listen to something UB40 or just Ali on his own.
I'd love Ali to come back to Glasgow, it's been too long! ❤
.....I'd be so mad if I bought UB40 tickets and it was the other lot, with no Ali there.....I'd honestly walk out, no one can fill his shoes.
Kazza agree with every word you said love Ali's voice and as you said to me no one could fill his boots he was the voice of UB40 and like you if I went to a concert and it wasn't Ali singing I would walk out as well but we'll said kazza

Have you ever considered where Ali might be if it wasn't for his 'brothers'? By that I mean the whole band. Not being arsey. Genuine question. It's just all I see is Ali wanted full control. He didn't get it. He left, waiting for them to fold as he, like everyone, thought they couldn't survive without him. He's partially right. They HAVE survived...but never been the same. And when they replaced Ali with Duncan was seen as the ultimate betrayal by Ali. But...HE left the group. I believe he planned on reforming with the members he liked, minus the management. But, the original band didn't split leaving him on his own. I mean, he started solo. That did not work out at all. So then he steals the name UB40 claiming it belongs to him as it's his voice?? Doesn't work like that at all. How legally he's getting away with it, I don't know.
@@andyscullion Andy how can Ali steal the name UB40 it doesn't belong to any of them it was the name of the card you had to have when they were all signing on so no robins band doesn't own it and neither does Ali so when robin wanted to take him to court to get ownership of the name he had no chance of getting it as it was a signing on card that every unemployed person had to have to sign own
@@jackiesmith3684 I know what they were named after. However, the 'original' band that Ali left were called UB40. Ali was expecting them to fold but they didn't. So, Ali decides, after solo wasn't going great, to atake the name already in use...UB40!! So, we had TWO groups called UB40. I lost count how many people complained online because they bought tickets to go and see UB40 and were disappointed when it was Duncan, not Ali singing. That's not right. The 'originals' did take Ali to court. I'm not sure what the outcome was, but I'm assuming Ali was ordered to re-name UB40 ft Ali Campbell, so people knew who was who. You can't start a group or band and take somebody else's name. That's what Ali did. So I do believe he was in the wrong, I'm afraid.
My one wish in life is for ub40 to b4 reunited. I grew up with them, is the young singer I. Ub40. The young singer looks like your son, I. Your brothers band. I miss youse.❤❤❤❤❤rip❤❤❤
Never a fan myself but I get the popularity of the band and took an instant like to Ali on this interview 👍
Only one Ali Campbell, UB40 are amazing 👏
Love Ali Campbell his voice is unreal, like Elvis Presley NO one can sing like them ❤❤❤❤
Truth….well said!👏👌

@@Carole815 I think you’re right! lol … both are absolute legends!! ❤️❤️
@@Fanniesyeraunt71 did to 😊
Cresci ouvindo Ub40, isso nos anos 80 e 90 Brasil 🇧🇷
I was 3 when I started listening to ub40 with
My dad back in 1993 and I’m still listening today I got a long list on my Spotify play list
My favorite
WHERE DID I GO WRONG
These are my heroes, Bob Marley, Ali Campbell, and Lucky Dube. I am happy HE is still alive. I was just a kid when Bob Marley died, but he was so alive in our home, that sometimes as a kid then, I used to be confused rhen if he was dead or alive.
I just love these guys! There songs are deep soul searching songs and evergreen!
I wish I could meet Ali Campbell in person.
UB40's Signing Off Album, one of the Best Reggae Albums ever, before they became commercialised.
Brilliant album. Had it on today full volume .
No matter what their disagreements are, I see Ali as the voice of UB40 any other singer won’t do
I Love ali campbell songs all of them sweet melody to everyone's ears ali campbell is the oringal
UB 40, Absolutely AWSOME, love Reggae music, Ali OnevRexy Dude yeah.❤️🌹❤️

I have alway love UB 40…Red Red Wine, I Got You Babe with Christie Hyde are some of my favourites…..I listen to them nearly everyday on my UA-cam Music when I’m pottering about doing my thing like cleaning or gardening….I’m also looking forward to the Bob Marley movie…two more of my favourite are Chaka Demus and Pliers version of Twist and Shout and Don’t be Crue……, I like Eddie Grant too and I don’t mind Si Cranston from the Dualers, or Toots and the Maytals…I’ve been fan from way back of reggae and I glad it’s becoming popular again..❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺
I love Ali Campbell. HE IS UB40.
Big love from Fiji….🇫🇯 we only know Ali Campbell…UB40

I Grew up listening to UB40
❤
Love love UB40 they are fantastic ❤️👍👍
I love Bass music that what makes u want to dance
I pray UB40 comes back together again 2 brothers should not be apart. Offcourse Ali is the voice off UB40, one off the most distinctive voices ever. Robin was also there from the beginning. They just have to be together again. Love all the groups❤
Ali is a legend !
Great to hear that Brummie accent ! Love & still love UB40 Ali Campbell !! Any chance visiting Cyprus ?
I had my honeymoon in Cyprus to this day the very best holiday destination, you can hire a soft-top jeep and get from one end of the island to another within 2 hours, driving on our side of the road like back home. It has romantic towns, rave towns, historical towns, just a great place to holiday. Sorry, I know my reply has nothing to do with anything, but I love Cyprus, you can even book a ship to take you to Egypt, see the pyramids and get back to Cyprus a day later for about £150 ahead, bargain
@@onlyme219 wow what a beautiful right up and a advert for Cyprus ! I have been here since 1981 & never looked back ! If you ever visit our little island let me know !
He's looking well, big up Ali
Been a from 1980 since hearing the first Labour of Love album ❤. Love Ali so much. ❤
Ali is the greatest in the 80's mate!
I saw something on here(UA-cam) about UB40 but with the new fella leadsinging n he's literally a spitting image of Ali Campbell when he was younger just after they started, his hair n even his face is literally 20yr old Ali Campbell, it's mad, but his voice hasn't a patch on the real Ali's❤❤
I love his voice
Yes Big up ❤
UB4O superb band.
Never been a big fan but even I know the distinctive voice of Ali Campbell, and associate it with UB40 , I couldn’t see myself going to watch them without him it’s just not the same 👍
I love them....UB40!!!♥️🥰😍
UB40 ❤
I love UB40.
Birmingham born and proud
Ali was born with a gifted Voice.
We love you Ali! ❤
He called his brothers band a tribute band 😂😂😂😂😂 he is right though, there is no UB40 without Ali Campbell!
Correct!
Agree, yet the man always made me think of Tony Soprano (or any other mob boss for that matter) so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s the issue between him and his brother (who is surrounded by not 1 but a bunch of guys)
@@drewbasewtf 😂
Saw them in concert in New York in the eighties, they were great. Sad now they've split into 2 bands- shame they were cool
His band are literally terrible 🤦🏻♂️
Coming to see you in June in Germany ❤. Got the Tickets from my daughter today for xmas❤❤❤

Very Good
Went to all your live shows NEC Ali ❤️
Ali was the voice not the band simple. Without the band he would never be the voice…..
Amazing ❤🤙
Ali where was you last night at the Birmingham City Ground... It was not the same without you ❤Please return to the band.. Just hold your head up high Bab! ❤ Regardless of what happened you are the driving wheels of UB40 And there is no UB40 without you Ali❤
Big up ali ❤❤❤😊😊😊
LOVE YA ALI ❤❤❤❤❤
Todo final de semana toca as músicas dele em um Bar na esquina da minha casa. Escrevo do Brasil.
We love William Shatner.
Brilliant this Guy❤😊
Greetings from sparkhill
Love u long time Ali ❤️❤️❤️❤️
He looks so different 😮
The real voice of UB40, selling out large venues and festivals and having top ten albums. Sadly Robin's tribute act are struggling and haven't properly chatted since Ali left, playing smaller and smaller venues. Very sad.
I saw UB40 in Calgary 4 or 5 years ago having no clue Ali had left, and it was just weird seeing his brother trying to sing. The show was good overall but it was a small venue indeed.
Ali compbell is getting old and it worries me a lot as a huge fan, because until this year2024 no one has sing similar to his great voice, huge respect for you Ali I never give up on you❤
It is a shame that Ali left the band but his reasons for leaving were valid (the mismanagement of their record label and the subsequent bankruptcy of various band members). I don't agree with him using the UB40 name when his former bandmates are still going but that issue has been legally resloved. There have been several bands who have lost their main vocalist and have gone on to have more hits with a new vocalist. RIP Astro.
It's all about me me me me me me me me me. The truth speaks
Shame he is having to be interviewed by these two lightrweights.
Great Interview love UB40
💰 Ali Campbell & some session Musicians Posing as UB40 🤣🤣
Was hilft es?
Die Menschen erwarten aber den typischen Sound, sonst können sie zu jeder guten Coverband gehen....
He's right about the tribute bands.... I saw one a couple of years ago and they were much better than the 'original' band I saw 6 months earlier (without Ali)...it's all so confusing.
He's the voice of UB40 simple as that the other lot are embarrassing
Hi Ali
Left ub40 16 years ago
Looking well ❤️
No mention of Brian your best mate 💔. Not one member of UB40’s in your group must be lonely
Must admit, I got confused when he kept using the word 'we'. Who's 'we' exactly?
He needs to stop acting like a kid and sort things. You can hear the petulant in him here. 'I am the one who sang the hits'. What, so the rest of the band, including your brother get no recognition? It was all Ali?? Grow up Ali!!!
Yep He was the voice, Jimmy was and still is the drummer, Brian , Sax R I P Astro Toaster R I P , Norman Percussion, Earl Bass Robin Vocals Guitar, Micky Keyboards, so these guys also played on all those hits too mate
@@delboy8569 I remember when they first split up. I thought in my head they'd be back together in five years. Obviously the wounds haven't healed. I think Ali basically wanted ultimate control as he saw himself as the main man. This didn't happen and he walked, expecting them to fold and then he'd reform with the ones he liked. But they didn't fold and replacing Ali with Duncan I think was what Ali can't forgive. But...HE left!!! They would have had him back if he swallowed his pride, shook hands and stop being a child!!
@@andyscullion Ali is UB40 without him they are just karaoke
@@warrennom3194 I agree he was the voice of UB40. But to say the rest contributed nothing to the group is silly on Ali's part. And if you need proof? How successful has Ali been since leaving? He's flopped. Solo didn't work out. So he takes UB40s name even though UB40 still exist. Right there; that is wrong. I don't care he was THE voice; UB40 was and is a group and Ali was out of order for just using the name claiming it's his. He's had no hits in the singles. A few albums that made the top 20. Three I think in fifteen years. He should have just gone back, shook hands and be 'UB40 '!!
Who's we? 🤔
Jeepers, Andi Peters, your arms!
Wow who is she?
I have to be honest what is the point of interviews what to get people responses or just to be snoopy on what other people’s lives are TBT❤
UB40’s Brian Travers wrote most of their hits
A very sycopanthic interview. Yes Ali was the voice which carried the songs. The original lineup as a collective were greater than the sum of its parts as they were a brethren. Brothers have fallings out.
Don't mind the UB40 as of nowadays, but without Ali, Mickey Virtue & Astro (bless) I reckon they should change the band name. Just not the same now.
bygones be bygones ub40 back together would be a amazing end to a amazing band dreaming maybe
He says they did a tribute toir for astro ..thats not true the tour dates was already set before astro died he just continued the tour without him
Man needs a drink of water hes clicking away here X
Matt Hoy was in a band with Ali and Astro from UB40. The original members. Doesn't that make it as much UB40 band as this guy's? Who were the members he performs with anyway
Because Matt Hoy refused to have the government intervention / the mandated government jab, and speak out, it can't be spoken about on this channel
Great singer, great talent from a magnificent band. seen the original, seen UB40 of today, and I have seen Ali and his band. For me, this connstant snipping at his ex band mates and calling them a tribute act is very insulting. You only get the real vibe with UB40, Ali's new band (in my oppinion) are simply no match from a musical perspective. My vote goes to UB40.
ALI GROW UP MATE ONE DAY YOU WILL LOSE YOU BROTHER FOR GOOD YOU KNOW WOT I MEAN MY BROTHER DIED AND IT HURTS LIKE HAIL I'D GIVE ANY THING TO HAVE HIM BACK SO MAKE UP BEFORE ITS TOO LATE
