Old Grand-Dad 114 is a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey made by the Old Grand-Dad Distillery Co. in Clermont, KY. It is bottled at 114 proof and aged for about 4-5 years.
Old Grand-Dad 114 is made using a unique recipe that uses more small grains to create a distinctive flavor and body.
It has a medium amber color, strong oak notes, and hints of rye grains, leather, and candied sugar. Some say it's sweet but spicy, with notes of Cajun seasoning, cinnamon, brown sugar, and rye heat.
Others say it's a full-flavored bourbon that can taste stronger than other bourbons at a higher proof.
According to a review by The Whisky Study, you should let Old Grand-Dad 114 sit in the glass for a couple of minutes to open up the flavors and change the taste.

I like the Top Floor benchmark the best, very expressive on the pallet. Less aggressive than the full proof. Tastier than the bonded. It’s an S tier bourbon, without a doubt.

My opinion on the benchmark line, full proof and bonded are my favorites.

The Bonded and Top Floor are the best two, followed by the Single Barrel, Full Proof, Small Batch. Although, you can get all for about 100.

Full lineup of Benchmark at my store. Only just over $100 for the full set, so why not get them all? OGD 114 at a supermarket is pretty nice, I'd say. Progress for mankind.

At the Walmart that bootle of Punchers Chance is actually a solid budget bourbon. Nothing spectacular but still good whiskey. Winn Dixie has a great price on that Barrell Dovetail which is very good. On the Benchmark if you already had the Full Proof, which is the best one IMO, I would try the Single Barrel or Top Floor next. Also, jealous of y'all being able to buy liquor on Sundays.

@@MajorXero Texas. Legal hours for all liquor sales, with exceptions to restaurants, are 10am-9pm Monday through Saturday. No liquor sales on Sunday still. Also only beer and wine at anything but dedicated liquor stores. Definitely don’t get to pickup whiskey at Walmart or any grocery stores here. Costco finally put in a few liquor stores run under a different name that are attached to the main store but they are still nothing like the Costco liquor sections in other states. Only bonus is they can’t require membership at the Costco liquor store.
That is cool about getting to shop at Costco without a membership, I am going to try and hit either Sam's or Costco this week

That is the largest selection of Whiskey I have seen at a Walmart. The closest one to me has about 15 bourbons. Driftless Glen putting out some great stuff. The distillery is only 2 hours from my house. Their Cask Strength Bourbon and store picks are fantastic and >$50. My favorite Benchmark are Full Proof and Bonded. Thank goodness for Winn-Dixie. Your first OGD 114! Brought a tear to my eye. 🥃

Weird, I see OGD 114 all over Michigan at msrp but have never seen Stagg that wasn't minimum 6x msrp while it seems the opposite in TN
It's true I can get Stagg all over the place, must be some kind of rule you either get Stagg or OGD 114
@@MajorXero after finally landing my own Stagg after years of hunting and finally just paying secondary, I'd much rather have Stagg over OGD but to each his own
I have plenty of Stagg just good to get something Inhave been hunting. You should try and get a case price on the Stagg it is usually cheaper

Right now, there are a couple of places that have it for sure. But it constantly changes. Always best to call the stores first
