Old In Flames is Melodic Death Metal, but their stuff from 2002 onwards is different, they decided to experiment more and have had various styles of the years.
Scott X68000 they wanted money...lol
damn Free Fall is my fav IF song (Reroute to Remain). Don't like In Flames overall, too overrated.
Sadly yes. They should have stayed death metal imo
@@dan_the_pathmaster7934 or they should just do what every other band does? Evolve instead of stagnate in one place, which very quickly becomes boring AF.. like Darkthrone or Manowar. Sure I love both bands, but can't listen to them much because it gets so fucking boring so fast :p
(Ok, maybe not every other band, but a good 95% )
That being said, I love the earlier stuff from In Flames.. some of the newer stuff have been cool tho. A few songs of Sounds of the Playground Fading, A Sense of Purpose.. and personally really liked their latest album. But imho, nothing beats The Jester Race or Whoracle.. and Colony is a personal favourite.
They're so wiggity wiggity wack. I love In Flames alot up to Clayman. Reroute and Soundtrack had some good moments. I stopped buying their albums after Soundtrack To Your Escape. They're pretty plain now. Jesper Stromblad was a very important member of the band same with Glenn Ljungstrom in the 90's. I'm just not into Bjorn Gelotte's writing style. Anders Friden had such a unique vocal style on their melodic death metal albums.
In flames - trigger! That one is awesome
In Flames - Pinball map or Clayman would be a contrast to the newer (pop-ish and radiofriendly) In Flames.
By the way Sori if you liked this you have to check out Soilwork. His vocals are insane as well
Have you heard the cover he did of burning heart from rocky 4?
The killing joke I have. Nothing but good things from these to guys
BACKED
Björn ”speed” has an amazing voice
Do something off of Natural Born Chaos. It's the album Metallica wishes they made after And Justice. lol
Amorphis-Amongst Stars
please stop asking newer songs of legendary bands. remember they are listening these bands first time!
At the Gates, In Flames, but no Dark Tranquility. This causes me great sadness. Complete the triple, por favor. I'll be very surprised if you are disappointed by Dark Tranquility. They are one of the most consistent bands in metal. Barely a step wrong since '95, and absolute gold when playing live. Pretty much close your eyes and point to a track on any album, and it'll be good.
In Flames - Artifacts of the Black Rain
Yes please
Godamn, yes please!
In Flames - Cloud Connected
Do older In flames from the 90's!!
Real In Flames
Booooooo. Reroute to Remain through SOAPF is their best stuff.
@@11peterson1 lol ahh no
@@mokke9 Lunar Strain is significantly better than Whoracle.
@@TheDretch its great album too
Wintersun -Lonliness (Winter)
I’m dying for it
it was "on the short list"....3 months ago lol. Hopefully this week....
Thanks how do I find the list?
Be'lakor-The smoke of many fires
If Sori wants to listen to better Melodic Death Metal, you guys should check out The Jester Race by them or Dark Tranquility's Lost to Apathy. I think Vin might like that one
Yes, DT lost to apathy or Am I 1
or Insomnium
Yeah, Jotun was always one of my favorite tracks from Whoracle, they could do that one as well
Colony is my personal favorite In Flames song
It’s fascinates me that members from this band did The Jester Race. Though I don’t think many of them from that album are still in the band nowadays
Check out In Flames - Jotun. Its propably they best song ever.
Vin you are right, the new In Flames are more generic i feel.. the old In Flames are more fun, and alot heavier! I still like the "new" In Flames tho'
Paradise Lost - Faith Divides Us Death Unites Us
Yes that song and video are mandatory.
Cant argue with this choice
Opeth - Demon of the Fall!!!
Yes.
You NEED to go to an IN FLAMES concert! The best shows I have ever gone to. Bodies flying everywhere.
I love your reactions to In flames!! keep it up !!
IN FLAMES- CLOUD CONNECTED! my favorite song from them. amazing live
Any given day-home is where the heart is!!
You SORI are awesome!!!! IN FLAMES happens to be one of my top favorite bands out and about right now! You guys have to check out more from this album, fuckin awesome. Love to SORI!!!!!
Only In Flames album I own is Whoracle. Nice, melodic death metal :)
I do own a 'pop-metal' album that Jesper Stromblad & Bjorn Gelotte both did the guitars on. The All Ends debut album that has two female lead singers, one of which is Bjorn's sister Emma Gelotte.
I just seen them in concert this past weekend they are awesome live.
How did Dark Tranquillity go unnoticed until now, especially since you seem to enjoy that kind of style and/or influences of it? Something like Misery's Crown, Lethe, The Mundane and the Magic would probably be right up your alley. Also I wouldn't be surprised if Mikael agreed to some sort of interview or chat if you actually reached out - the dude is probably one of the most wholesome, down to earth people in the scene.
Love some In Flames. Clicked as soon as I saw driving in Dallas traffic.
Evaristo Hooper And it’s only getting worse!
Brad Steed YUPP guess it could be worse.
Love this song !!!
With much respect. This In flames is rock
The Black Dahlia Murder - The Window, The Lonely Deceased, Deathmask Devine, Abysmal, Closed Casket Requiem, I Will Return, Denounced Disgraced, Crucifed in Cruciform, Nocturnal, Funeral Thirst, Miscarriage, Dave Goes to Hollywood, Statutory Ape Moonlight Equilibrium.
Please give any of those songs a listen.
Thats a lot of songs haha
The Window, and Deathmask Devine!!!
Great song!
Definitely go see them live if you can! They are really good live
Love you guys! When you guys get around to it, you should check out While She Sleeps. Enjoy!
In Flames have got a varied back catalogue, experimented quite a bit with their sound over the years. Think you'd enjoy going through some of the changes they've had.
Please react to
Rolo Tomassi - Alma Mater
While She Sleeps - Silence Speaks
If you guys like In Flames, they did a live version of When the World Explodes ft Emilia Feldt and its beautiful
Melechesh - Enki Divine Nature Awoken (middle eastern black metal)
Dark Fortress - Venereal Dawn (melodic black metal)
Melechesh yes! Enki Divine Nature Awoken is brilliant, or Multiple Truths is another gem from that album in my eyes
so much yes for Dark Fortress!!!!
Try Children of bodom, the best melodic death metal band in the past (First 3-4 album, now they a bit heavy then mdm). They have not the best lyrics but riffs and melodies just stunning, its so good. My favorite songs: Towards dead end, hate me, follow the reaper, everytime i die, silent night bodom night, kissing the shadow (3 guitar solo, 3 keyboard solo in this song) and living dead beat. Check one of this if you want to ;) Thx for the video
They are not melodic DM at all :/
Kissing the shadows would blow their minds.
@@aaronstallard they are though
Yeah sure
@@Luindir22
follow the reaper was the most stunning song to me when i first listened to it...favorite band since I know them
IN FLAMES WE TRUST! I'm old school METAL , luckily my son introduced me to this EPIC Swedish band and so glad he did seen them five times since!
This is my third favorite In Flames album. The top two are 'Come Clarity' and 'Soundtrack to Your Escape'. Hoping for more In Flames reactions in the future :)
Bolt Thrower - When Cannons Fade
Lol! Look at lil Vin and sori!
Do old in flames like colony, zombie inc, jotun, moonshield, behind space.
Also cloud connected is awesome
Portal - Curtain
Wow! Thank you very much for this one! The entire "Sounds of a playground fading" album is a complete masterpiece!
BTW, you might want to consider Man Made God by In Flames the next time you decide to react to an instrumental!
One of my favorite bands. Don't care if it's newer or older material, it all has relevance.
In flames are REALLY good live! you really oughta go if you can! but yes, listen to some older stuff
Man, these IF song picks. It's like only listening to post Black Album Metallica.
When they did Take this life people were asking them to do something older and less radio friendly. Instead they do this which is even newer and more radio friendly. And then Vin complain that it's formulaic..
Yeah... I'm not against "post black album IF", and I think anyone who approach In Flames AFTER listening to metalcore, or anything that comes from the swedish scene, cannot fathom the originality, the uniqueness what we felt first time listening to IF, Dark Tranquility, ATG, or anything... but even then I wouldn't recommend "Deliver Us", which is average even compared to their newer stuff. If I would be introducing anyone to IF, I would go straight to Clayman, Colony, some songs from R2R, Soundtrack and Come Clarity. Anders had some really thought provoking lyrics on Clayman especially, at least this is how I feel.
@@xSanctusx Yea I agree with everything you say. I like songs from all IF albums and think Sounds of a playground fading is one of their stronger albums. I love the lyrics on Clayman and I think the quality of the lyrics has become worse and worse sadly. Whoracle is my favourite In flames album though.
Exactly. I like post-BA Metallica too...but it doesn't come close to the originals
Hahahahahahaaaaq
This is a cool track.
In Flames, At The Gates and Dark Tranquillity are from Gothenburg, Sweden and they are pioneers of melodic death metal
In flames - here until forever
8:58 «Excellent» OMG I'm dead xD
My second favourite In Flames song! :D The favourite being "Goliaths Disarm Their Davids", which I highly recommend.
awww...she looked just like a little Sori..
in flames is awesome...do some older stuff, its better
no generalices, esa es tu opinión... Mi opinión es que todo los albums de In Flames son buenos! hay personas a las que no les gustó tanto Siren Charms o Battles por ejemplo, y son de mis favoritos.
Subjective
In Flames - Everlost Part 1 and 2
Please react to the Fleet Foxes ...super chill folk music... helplessness blues is one of my favorites by them, think youll love it
In flames. Touch of Red
Awwww your kids are so cute, they both look a lot like both of you!!! BTW, next time I would recommend songs like When The World Explode, The Mirror's Truth, Trigger, Alias, Ordinary Story, Zombie Inc. or Moonshield. IN FLAMES WE TRUST (And you guys :)
Nice!
My favorite song line of all time is in the song, Does really matter I give the world to you, if you just, Fly into the distance
I highly recommend to check out Be'lakor for melo-death without unpredictable song structure
I think you should check their "Cloud connected" video if you liked this one that much :) You might like both the song and video. Also, anything older than "Reroute to remain" album is way more "Death" than "Melo-death".
If you like In Flame's more modern style I'd recommend stuff from A Sense of Purpose in general a pretty good album although in general I prefer the older stuff. My particular favorites from that album and recommendations are Sleepless Again, Disconnected, Drenched in Fear and Condemned
calling in flames underground is hilarious
Coheed And Cambria!!! In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth 3!!!!
In flames - colony or reroute to remain or even something off the come clarity albume would be good to see you guys react/review/ and breakdown.
I like Hillsong seen them twice. This song was a 9 for me but after the invasion of cuteness 8:46 bumped this reaction to a 10!
You’d enjoy their older stuff. Their sound has changed a lot over the years, but still manage to sound original every time.
Should of did In Flames - Cloud Connected
Beast in Black - Blind and Frozen
it's already been said but: Old In Flames.
Not as radio friendly but more interesting stuff imo.
Iron Maiden-Phantom of the Opera (live at the Rainbow or live at Ullevi)
Blind Guardian - Valhalla live, and why don't you do Maha Kali, look at the polll wtf
Waiting waiting. pretty sure I have been requesting BG for over 9 months now :o
Yeah, really should check out Dark Tranquillity. I really feel like you'll enjoy them quite a bit. They got the deepest lyrics and the most complex songwritning out of the three big melodic death metal bands (just my opinion obviously).
I highly recommend you to check out Lethe, Hedon or insanitys crescendo by them.
This album and all the ones before it are killer. The two newer ones didn't do it for me but prior to that I think In Flames were one of the most original bands out there. One of my favorite bands of all time is Soilwork. Please do the song "Drowning with Silence".
My Sweet Shadow next
soilwork - chainheart machine
Their first 4 albums are masterpieces.
Only for the Weak is catchy. I think you will both agree on that one!
Check out older in flames, it's less whiny.
Anything off Reroute to Remain by In Flames is awesome, my favourite album by them
Primordial - Empire Falls
Primordial - To Hell or the Hangman
Primordial - The Gathering Wilderness
Tesseract - Beneath my skin / mirror image pls. It's 11 min prog metal song , you will enjoy it )
3:11 « yeah i like that » Well Sori I think synthwave/darksynth could be your thing ;)
You should check out another Swedish band aswell; Letters From The Colony!!!! Progressive death metal with beautiful melodies, epic structures and crushing riffs!!! 🤘
Speaking of awesome Swedish bands (I know you like Ghost & most of IF), you need to check out Refused, those guys are absolutely bonkers. Any song from The Shape of Punk to Come will do fine.
Please do 90s in flames , Dead eternity , Jotun , artifacts of the black rain , ordinary story .... Etc
This is a pretty recent In Flames song. Me, like many others, prefer the old style they had on their 4-5 first records. They have turned more towards alternative metal wich i don't mind but the old stuff is just so great! HELLOWEEN - KEEPER OF THE SEVEN KEYS 🎃
In Flames, favorite albums: Lunar Strain and Jester Race! Please check them out
Moonspell - Night Eternal
Let's see if my request is ever going to be featured. Attempt #49
PESTE NOIRE - DUEIL ANGOISSEUS
It's black metal with the most insane vocals ever. Plus it has a beautiful guitar melody. Really strong atmosphere.
Haha they're gonna hate it.
I can already picture sori's face in pain reacting to the vocals
LMAO your children! 😃
Mini Vin and Sori made an appearence :P
I love this album. Heard this song first. I know some people hated this version of the band but i thought it was great.
Dark Tranquillity: any track from the Projector album.
Please!
If Sori liked that intro I feel like she would like songs by Perturbator. Something like Sentient or Venger. The type of music is sometimes called retro synth wave, or dark wave. Has a very 80's blade runner feel. May be worth checking out some day.
If Sori likes this, she would like much more "Cloud Connected: I'm Shure
Iron Maiden Dance Of Death from En Vivo!
You guys really need to react to Nothing More....powerful band, powerful messages.
old In Flames was legend but this one meeh! try their 90's era albums jester race whoracle colony ... even clayman
