All good tips for gaining weight. I did most of these as a young man to gain weight. The problem is they are habits now that have become pretty hard to break and I need to lose weight now. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I had force fed myself all those years. I'd probably still be fat I suppose...

I didn't know he passed. That tip on eating banana peanut butter honey wheat sandwiches before bed could have helped me out when I was younger. Then again I'd eat before bed and still wake up starving and have dreams about eating. Damn I want to make one of those sandwiches now...

Eating before bed is a no-brainer . Think about it - you sleep for 8 hours , would you go for 8 hours in the day without eating if you were trying to gain weight ?
At one point I was even waking up at 3am to scarf down 400cals and then going back to bed.

I Need more of this weight gain content. So many videos from everyone how to Lose weight. I'm up to 4k calories a day and still can't hardly gain any weight.
I feel your pain. I am the same way. Eating all the food I need to knocks me out though. I can't function and eat all that!
Not all calories are the same, especially since a calorie is just a measurement of heat so many would argue the higher the heat the higher the fat burn but burning calories and burning fat aren't necessarily the same thing. If you want to maintain your weight you got to eat the same amount of protein everyday, if you want to gain weight you need to increase your protein and your carbohydrates to lose weight you should decrease your carbohydrates and keep your protein the same

@@Noodlessssss That's more of a recipe for maintaining muscle while cutting. Not optimal for growth but it can be done. Carbs help with energy and strength so help in the gaining phase, they are also protein sparing. For best gains you can't have it both ways(maintaining abs and growing muscle would be a slower process) and still require a slight caloric surplus. 12-15% bf is best imo to make the most gains.

Good ways to get fat
Eating within three hours before bed will also mess up your immune system, and it will mess up your sleep as sleep is when you grow and rebuild. I quit caffeine 7 hours before bed fluids 1 hour before bed and certainly food 3 hours before bed but I'm not a bodybuilder so it's not hard for me to not eat after Dark
I sleep like a baby on heavy carbs right before bed, also track sleep and get plenty of deep sleep as well. Everyone is different and no rules are concrete.
I always eat before sleeping. Your body digests the food all the same. 🤡
A nice PB&J on wheat sammie right before bed gives me a great night's sleep and sets me up for my early am workout perfectly. Whatever works for you, everyone is different👍🏻
