As a former LEGO kid, it makes me very happy that they've taken off as a grown-up activity, both so I can keep enjoying them and so people who didn't do LEGO as kids can experience the satisfaction as adults. The flowers turned out great! 🌷
I have so many Legos I still haven’t done the Harry Potter’s vault I bought last year it’s really because I have no room. This year I’m gonna donate all of them to charity 5:38 5:41
Your day seemed like so much fun. Self-care days are so vital. My perfect day will always be a Sunday when I get to teach my kids' church class. Afterward, I get to attend a service. If I can also then see my friends for coffee or lunch, that's a really great treat. Then I love to be able to just spend time alone reading. 😊
Congratulations Jessica!!! You are such a strong and inspiring young person!!! I’m a cancer survivor and am many years your elder. I’m struck by your courage to share your life! Thanks for your uplifting blogs!🙏🏻
I Love Legos! We had a lot of them when I was a kid my parents got them at yard sales and my brother was always getting the newest ones so we played with them lots!😊🧡💜🧡
Hey Jess! Looks like you had fun. I’m 58, so I was on the first generations to have Legos in Canada and US. They came in five basic colors, and we built dream houses with them. My eldest son has a huge giant Rubbermaid tub of Legos, which has thousands of pieces and his children are almost able to play with them.
Loved the video and solo date idea. Loved Lego flowers and had fun at book club. Perfect day for me would be to get up early and go to my favorite bakery for a pastry and beverage. Go for drive I. Countryside during autumn and look at leaves. Stop by the pumpkin patch for pumpkins and fall decor, stop for lunch at a lakeside restaurant whose chili I love and then drive to the beach for a little while to watch the water and boats coming in and out of the channel. Then head home and start a campfire and have weenie roast, toasted marshmallows, and an adult beverage while hanging out with friends and family and covered in a blanket in my camping chair.
I love your dorm room. It looks so cozy. That sounds like a great day. I'm an extrovert and love being around people. Your brother was very sweet to give you a gift card for coffee. Very nice jewelry. The P for Piper necklace is a nice way to have her with you when she's home. Very nice book display at Indigo. Very nice clothes you tried on. That sounds like an interesting book. I don't like YA romances, either. A Man Called Ove has already been adapted into a movie called A Man Called Otto, with Tom Hanks. I love how Piper took over the dog bed. My perfect day would be randomly traveling somewhere in Europe and sitting in a cafe and people watching and checking out the various grocery stores to see what people are currently eating in that country.
Thank you for taking us along on your 'date' 😂 And about Lego: as a child we always had some second hand ones, no sets really, but these past few month I bought my first set (the japanese garden one) and now I'm a bit like you and buying books: I need to set a limit on my monthly purchases 😁
Love, love, love A Man Called Ove. Fredrick Backman's books are great. His droll sense of humor is really appealing. I'm proud of you for recognizing the need for solitude and self care. It's so good to see you happy, energetic and back at school school.
Here’s to you for treating yourself to a “you” day!! My perfect day would be to wander around in the forest or other nature area alone and soaking in the views!❤️
My perfect day would be to drive to our local beach and sit all day (under an umbrella) and read a book or people watch! It's good for my soul! Love your Lego flowers!
My perfect quiet day would be packing up my kindle, a snack and drink ( probably water) and my beloved black lab driving to the lake and reading for a few hours, walking my beloved Nettie by the lake. Just enjoying some quiet time! 😊❤
Your adorable! I’m a huge fan of you and your family Jess. Watched your mom since December 2019! You look so good after all you have been through! You’re a tough cookie! Xo 😘 p.s. I love my Ana Luisa Jewelry you referred me to!! 🥰
Awesome watching you spoiling yourself, Jess! Everyone secretly wants to just go... anywhere, anytime. I love quiet time to do whatever I want for a break. I'm not really a shopper, so I love doing off the wall things like jigsaw puzzles (believe it or not)! I have boxes of them and redo puzzles if I can't find new ones. It's actually calming to me. Reading is another common joy, too. My problem is that I can't afford subscriptions or to buy new books; I simply can't afford it. Oh well.... life is what you can make of it for me now. As always, thank you so much for sharing your life with us! We love you Jess! Sending warmth and blessings from Alabama ❤️
I found your page because I watch your Mom, and I gotta say, you are so much like her, well spoken, thoughtful and inspiring, I wish you wonderful things in your life, God BLess!
So funny, I took myself on a date yesterday! I went to the opening of a new horror themed bookstore and then went to the zoo. Self care is so important!
Jess I’m one of five siblings, and we were small organic produce farmers, and my parents both worked off the farm. So, most of the books in my life came from our library. I have moved 18 times in 38 years and the first thing I look for in getting to know the new place we are moving to has a library. - medically retired Library Supervisor, Calgary Public Library.
Year before last (2022) my oldest gave me the Legos flower bouquet kit for Mother's Day. And then for Christmas, LOL, both my boys gave me the bonsai tree set (yep, 2 of them!) but that is okay as it can be done with flowers or with leaves...so I got to do both ways. So much fun, especially since they got to help put them together. Fun bonding time.
Definitely my kind of day too, Jess! I'm introverted and need to 'recharge' every so often as well. I would usually go to get lunch somewhere that was a little nicer (or even my favorite fast food sometimes), with a book to enjoy while waiting, and then go for a walk or find a bench in a park to keep reading while enjoying nature. I used to also go see movies at a discount place I used to live close to - I loved getting my raisenettes and a drink and being in a mostly empty movie theater. 😊 🎥 Take care, and I hope school continues to go well for you and your friends! Hugs from here in Summerville, SC!
I loved going shopping with you (while eating dinner ha ha). So glad you grab that cute stripy sweater. Much cuter that the other. Btw, your hair is so adorable and waves !!! The man called Ove is a favorite of mine because of the personalities of the characters and it ends well. The movie is already out, and they did a pretty good job, but Books are always better, IMHO. They change the name to 'a man called Otto' with Tom Hanks. Read the book first. Enjoy.
What fun! I do me only days also. I love my friends and family but also enjoy my “me” days. I’m slightly an introvert for sure. Good luck with school!📚
You will love “A Man Called Ove.” The movie stars Tom Hanks and is “A Man Called Otto,” which is like an Americanized form of the book, but the book is SO much better. It will make you laugh and cry.
I am an avid reader and learned somewhere in my early 40’s (late 60’s now) that the books start to take over the house. I buy very few books now, my library is my best friend. You and your mom read a lot, what do you do with all your books once you have read them.
Do you ever go to a library to check out books to read when you are trying a new genre? Then if you don’t like it, you are not spending money. That’s what I learned when I was in college. 😊
My perfect day: oh my! Hm. Let me think. Well, if I was back home in Michigan- I grew up in metro Detroit, I would…go to the library I grew up using (No bookstores out there), and see the glorious new renovation. Then I’d have to stop by and see my father’s grave site at the cemetery next door. Then I would for for a drive around the now city I grew up in and enjoy looking at all the lakes (my home county land mass is 33% water), and perhaps see my mother who has end stage dementia. She wouldn’t know who I was, but, it would be good to talk to her care givers. Then aid head towards downtown Detroit and find myself an Indian restaurant and have lunch. Then I would go downtown to the Detroit Institute of Arts, and the Wright Museum of African American history and tour those. Then I’d go to Belle Isle Park, and visit the Michigan state and Detroit Police horses. Then If have to find somewhere to sleep, probably go out to my sisters place. Then the next morning get on the plane and 10 hours later arrive in Calgary (no direct flights). My other version of a day to myself would be to go up to Banff and Kannaskis. I love the mountains as much as I love the Great Lakes.
Hey Jess I'm glad you had amazing day on your soul date. it's nice to have one of those, because then you can reboot your life to figure out what the next thing is. I wish I can tag along next time because you're so sweet country & hard-working and a true beautiful woman.. that I love watching videos of. I hope college is treating you very good Jess Brock!!!
Do you ever use Libby? Would save a pile of money Also would like to hear about some non fiction. I cannot read fiction. It is just so boring and hard to get into I just read Barbra Streisnds book. It was phenomenal. I read H mart. It wasn’t a grabber. Don’t get my attention
As a former LEGO kid, it makes me very happy that they've taken off as a grown-up activity, both so I can keep enjoying them and so people who didn't do LEGO as kids can experience the satisfaction as adults. The flowers turned out great! 🌷

Jessica, I am so glad that you have participated in your own activities and nobody is too old for lego.

The flower Legos look so beautiful
Here’s to you for treating yourself to a “you” day!! My perfect day would be to wander around in the forest or other nature area alone and soaking in the views!❤️
A man called Ove is an amazing book - can’t wait to see if you love it as much as I do. The movie came out last year. It is great as well.
I loved the book also. I think you will really like it too. I bet your mom would like it.
Always good to see you vlog! What a beautiful area you vacationed at. Hope you did better on your test then you expected.
I bought my college son a $20 Lego kit for his Christmas stocking and it was the first gift he used on Christmas Day. They are so relaxing. 😎
My perfect day would be to drive to our local beach and sit all day (under an umbrella) and read a book or people watch! It's good for my soul! Love your Lego flowers!
Admire your self care!
Stepping away from the noise of community into personal reflection!
My perfect quiet day would be packing up my kindle, a snack and drink ( probably water) and my beloved black lab driving to the lake and reading for a few hours, walking my beloved Nettie by the lake. Just enjoying some quiet time! 😊❤
Great video from one introvert to another! LOL 😊
I also am very much an introverted. type individual. Similar to. Jessica in many ways.
It’s nice to have a day you can just do what ever you want. I like going for nice walk in the woods and just breath.
Jess I totally agree with you and I think having a day out will be great and pampering myself!!!🤓❤️🫶🏻

The Lego flowers turned out cute.
Dearest Jess, you arE the answer to my prayers! Studying, happy, healthy, and celebrating life!

Nice to have a me day once in a while! Love the Lego flowers!
Super animated into❤😊
Solo dates to a good book store are the best.
You will love “A Man Called Ove.” The movie stars Tom Hanks and is “A Man Called Otto,” which is like an Americanized form of the book, but the book is SO much better. It will make you laugh and cry.
Otto is a remake of the original Swedish movie.
I've done this often from my 20's to now. No better way to explore, imho!!
Love your opening animation!❤

What is the next book club book? I haven't seen any announcements.

Thanks Jess. ❄️🫠💚🙃

Great video, Jess thank you.
"A Man Called Ove" is a good book.
Check & Mate is probably my favorite Ali Hazelwood book, and that's saying a lot!
My ultimate me day is me in front of my tv watching a couple of old movies. Usually something with either Jimmy Stewart or Humphrey Bogart.
I wasn't a Lego kid but man am I a fan of Legos as an adult!
A man named Ove - wonderful read. The film is called a man named Otto starring TOM HANKS!
