The West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island!! You have to apply for it now with them needing to control the number of people and also a safety issue. Quite a few years back now, before having to apply or make reservations, my husband has done the trail 3 different times! He has done the trail when it was very wild and sections of it were very dangerous!! Gradually, they have made parts of the trail so much safer!! Absolutely spectacular scenery!! There are many other great areas and trails all over Vancouver Island and on the mainland!! Fun video! I and my adult daughters do a "girls trip" every year. Usually in Jan /Feb. It's something we love to do. We rent a home and spend 4/5 days away, unwinding from the holidays and hype. After preparing for all the holidays, its nice for us to have this to look forward to. It's a great bonding time. We play card games, puzzles, read books, laugh, nap, and cook some favorite foods. Great to see you and your Mom did the same!

When we travel we enjoy visiting the small towns and villages. Oh wow you all were trying to remember beignets. They are the best! You probably had them at Cafe du Monde. Also Jess they make a pill you can take or chew (it helps enzyme really) to help you digest lactose. It’s called lactaid. My husband uses them to eat pizza. Hope it helps.
Whoa! When I recommended the Upper Canada Village on your mom's channel, I didn't realize it was only a 4.5-hour drive from where you all live or that the town nearby is named Brockville. That Christmastime lightshow is amazing.

Our favorite, low cost, four day trip that would be so fun as a family was to see the beginning of the Iditarod race in Alaska. So much to learn and if you love animals, so many dogs and information about how they live to pull those sleds! It's always the first full weekend in March and there's always a ceremonial start in Anchorage with a fun parade and reindeer run right down the middle of the street. You can sign up to go on side trips to visit the homes of the mushers and meet their dogs and ride in dog sleds. We went to the musher's banquet where we sat at a table with an experienced racer/musher and could ask all the questions.
Oh boy you should look into the Appalachian Trail it a walking trail that goes from the upper east coast down through the mountains to I believe South Carolina or Georgia. People will do it by sections or the whole trail at one time. Beautiful part of our country.
Epic Family Road Trip--- af family in Canada does overloading road trips with the kids who are now adults. Such adventures they went on... You should look at some of their trips!!
Mount Washington, NH in the Summer is a great hike if you're looking for great views and a not-so-easy but won't kill you hike. But if there's high winds forecast, don't go up there that day, even in the Summer. Also, the leaves in the Fall in New England. Vermont has the Green Mountains and the White Mountains if you're looking for hiking areas and spectacular views. Lake Champlain tour boats out of Burlington, VT is a great sightseeing trip. It's a college town, so bookstores and coffee shops too. I think the boats are called something like Champ Tours after the Lake Champlain Monster aka Champ.
What about the appalacian trail etc for hiking that isnt everest basecamp . Id love it if you guys would consider South Africa. We have lots of grain and sheep farming here too.
I love Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Prince Edward Island. Ontario is also beautiful, I want to go to Quebec City. I live in the USA, and I get mixed up on your provinces, I think that's what you call them. Great mom and daughter trip! Merry Christmas

It is begins on the north side of the country in Maine and down to northern Georgia. It takes months to walk the entire thing.
