I was lucky enough to bicycle the White Rim two years ago. There were several time I wished I had been on the motorcycle instead! Not matter how you do it, the trail is drop dead spectacular.
Cool video. I love how you captured that first time, newbie (to Moab) enthusiasm. It is also classic Moab to run out of gas and fight against sunset being far from home base. We have been there 6 times and counting. We have still barely seen much. Add Chicken Corners, Shafer Trail (near White Rim), Hells Revenge and Kane Creek to your list of must do trails. I hope your foot is better- was it fractured? I suffered a mTBI when I was out there one year. It was pretty bad so now I don't ride the KTM's- stick to renting UTV's in town or Jeeps. I like seatbelts and rollcages. Also nice when the temps. dip or very early am and when it rains out. On the single tracks out there, do watch out for 2-way traffic around blind turns.
Moab has been a enduring favorite. Many trips with my two sons on mountain bikes and later on dual sport m/c's. Last visit was August of this year and the canyons never grow old, but I am LOL !
@@duanenorthrup1580 Lol- perhaps so my friend. I saw your page and that you like planes and music. I have flown Cessna's 172's (w/instructor.) My dad when he was still alive. Take care of your heart! A great book is Young Forever- Hyman. I also play guitar...maybe you will see me stumming on a guitar out in Moab one day!
This video was so fantastic. It really makes you want to visit there and go on motorcycle adventures. Great story, cinematography and the guys are personable and fun. We need more from these guys and from RoadRunner!
That video was really well done on the editing! I feel like I was there; the perspectives you shared demonstrated the beauty really well; the music was great. One of the best motorcycle riding short films I've ever seen. Congrats. I am now going to find a buddy and get to Moab, been considering it for years. Thanks for producing this.
@@JEH-1020 Very cool. I think that was in Dead Horse Point State Park. From Chicken Corners you can look way out and across the river at Shafer Trail....the part just before the switchbacks. You will have to go back. we might go in March/April.
Raaaad - very nice... I've camped and mountain biked in Moab, and yeah, it's pretty incredible ...now I have a moto (CB 500X !) and this video motivates me to load it down and get back there 🤙🤙
Thanks for taking us on your journey! I’ve only been to Moab once, about 6 years ago for Easter Jeep Safari (my other outdoor hobby). I can’t wait to go back - it’s an absolutely amazing place that must be experienced by anyone who loves the outdoors! Hopefully I’ll gain enough skills to ride some of the trails on my Tiger 900. Eleven years and 125,000 miles of riding on pavement, and now about 20 whole miles on dirt. Maybe some day I’ll trailer the bike behind the Jeep (never trailered any of my bikes, ever!), and get a 2 for the price of one trip. Great video!
Nice video. I'm currently staying at the Apache and running the White Rim in the morning. But we will trailer the bikes to Island In The Sky so we don't run out of fuel.
Did this same ride in 2014 on my Yamaha WR250R with a group from Chicago Dual Sport Riders - such an epic place. Need to get back and install a bigger tank also on the WR (I too ran out of gas on White Rim ;)
I just installed a bigger tank on my friend bike- he ran out last time. It was easy except for switching over the components in the tank- that was a pita. You will be happy though if you get it done. Buy a quality tank- not too huge but not too small either.
Great video. As frequently done, you referred to "off road" multiple times, but what I saw was really dirt roads. Not smooth or easy, but some trail to follow, at least. Was that the case throughout, or did I miss something? My off-road skills are not the best, but I THINK I can ride what I THINK I saw.
Awesome vid. On the " when I retire " list of places to ride . First up is Newfoundland though. Gear question...was Luke wearing a Klim modular ? His thoughts if so.
Indeed a Klim modular helmet. It's his go-to. If you have multiple helmets to choose from, and you always pick up the same one.... must be the favorite :-D
Seems to be great place to travel. Can you share the route you have done ? GPX ? What is the level of off road riding skills you need to have to make this ride ? Will I be able to do it with BMW 1250 GSA (With basic off-road skills) ? Please advise!
See the story in the Mar/Apr '22 issue of RoadRUNNER magazine. The tankbag maps will be in the back of the issue as usual, and subscribers can access files via our website. Personally, I'd advise against doing this on a R 1250 GSA. The bike can certainly do it, but you'll have way more fun on a smaller motorcycle. There are several rental options in Moab. A guide is also highly recommended. It's remote out there. -Florian
Rent KTM's from Moab Tour Co. Jeeps from TWISTED JEEPS. Otherwise, take your bike on the roads- Rt. 128 is amazing and there is a loop for the La Sals. Just GO! I've been 6 times.
This should have way more views! Come on UA-cam algorithm!

I disagree- you sound pretty young at heart to me. My goal is to die young...at a ripe old age.
No doubt we are brothers from different mothers@@MOAB-UT

Fantastic video and the music was outstanding.
Great video! Well done! We love Moab in the spring and fall, a little too warm for me in the summer months!
Great video of a great ride. Awesome scenery.

Glad you enjoyed it!
Agreed- it was pro level.
Did this twice on motorcycles and once in a SUV. Most scenic 100 mile trip I've ever taken.
Do Chicken Corners- really nice trail too.
Did that also. saw where Thelma & Louise drove off the cliff.@@MOAB-UT

Time to do plan it!
Life is very short jonr. Do it. Starting planning it tomorrow. Next year is never promised.

Did you like that event? I avoid it. Looks dreadfully slow and too much traffic.
Awesome! Well done! Thanks for sharing.

Where is the valley you're entering at 0:46?

This route follows paved and unpaved roads that are marked on a map. See the story in the Mar/Apr '22 issue of RoadRUNNER magazine.

GREAT video. I want to go there. What time of year did you guys go?
Early May. Plan far ahead! It is a very busy place. So beautiful.
If you ski, go around March- fly into Denver, ski vail, then moab. Otherwise, late April is great.
What issue is this article contained in, thanks
It will be coming in early '22 to print
No verbiage about bike performance, etc.
Not needed. They worked fine. The Honda was better. KTM's are the best (I've ridden both out in Moab.) OEM has small gas tanks. Enough said.
