- The first-ever #DisneyPlus ""This Is Me"" #Pride Celebration Spectacular, hosted by Nina West and directed by Ann Marie Pace, with incredible musical performances by Alex Newell, DCappella, Frankie Rodriguez and Joe Serafini, Hayley Kiyoko, Jackie Cox, Jesse James Keitel, Kermit the Frog, Michael James Scott, Todrick Hall, and Nina West.
Produced in partnership with Disney Music Group and the Disney PRIDE Employee Resource Group, the assembled team of host, performers, director, and producers is predominantly comprised of members of the LGBTQ+ community, with the support of allies.
The Disney+ ""This Is Me"" Pride Celebration Spectacular is raising awareness for GLSEN, a nonprofit that The Walt Disney Company is proud to support, which works to ensure that LGBTQ+ students are able to learn and grow in a school environment free from bullying and harassment. The Walt Disney Company proudly contributes towards organizations that support LGBTQ+ communities and people.

This was tastefully done. The entertainment was fun and top notch but, most important...the message of inclusion and diversity was present. Here's to a new Pride tradition.

Hayley has been my “queer icon” since I was a young teenager years ago. When I saw her perform “Kiss the Girl” I lost it.. I love what Disney is doing with the representation. It feels genuine and not just a “corporate cash grab”. I’m a sucker for representation and this is so great.

please don't take this as an insult as that's not my intention but I'm honestly confused why anyone would say they're "proud" to belong to a particular group/identiy which they were born with - can you please explain that to me?
I often see people in LGBT+ say they're "proud" to be gay/bi/trans etc. but like, you didn't choose to be any of those things, you were born gay/bi/trans etc. so it doesn't make any sense to be proud of it. If i said "I am so proud to be a member of the heterosexuals" wouldn't you find that a weird thing to feel pride about?
@@MariusSemeonOrtiz I'm not entirely sure of it as a whole. But as a gay man I think it's cause being in the LGBT+ community was met with shame for so long. Like despite being born as part of it, we were forced to think of it as a shameful or wrong cause of how society viewed us. It's called pride cause we should be proud of it and not ashamed of it. And there are still people who feel ashamed of being part of the community so pride is there to show them that they don't need to feel wrong about it cause there isn't anything wrong about it

Fully in tears through this whole thing. I didn't catch it during pride month, but oh my lord...Beautiful perfection doesn't even do it justice. I grew up with all of these wonderful movies, running around my house singing all of the different tracks, but as I grew up and began to start feeling the burn of society for being "different", for being gay, they've always been a comfort for me. This was absolutely beautiful, and never did I expect to see the community represented in such a beautiful way. Thank you so much, Disney, for making my childhood, adolescence, and even into adulthood, magical.
