This series by Vic Mignogna needs to continue. It's a true work of love and 100% authentic.
Vic and his crew made every effort to use the same shooting style and music as TOS. Since Jimmy Doohan's son Chris played Scotty, it was a real passing of the torch... RIP, Grant Imahara...
I agree. It’s a shame it was stoped by corporate greed.
Aye. However ST:C did bridge the gap between TOS and TMP. To continue on would require sets of the TMP and TOS era mixing until we got to TMP. That would require a bigger budget that I don't think they have.
It's why TOS is so accessible and iconic. In the modern day, anyone can build a Connie bridge. They don't because they don't need to... but if they did it would be the easiest set to build.
There is another set in Ticonderoga, NY.
Look at the smile on Vic's face, he is a kid on the set.
CBS foolishly stopped the making of this expression of love for the show they own. Were they attempting to avoid embarrassment at being upstaged by these talented fans? Great stories.
Actually no. Another production, (NOT STC) raised money to make a Star Trek fan film movie, and never made it. They instead used the money to pay themselves salaries and buy a building to start a production company all in the name of Star Trek. CBS/P sued them and all other fan films were collateral damage. Star Trek Continues supports CBS/P's right to protect their license and is grateful they got to finish the "original" 5 year mission.
Vic is great and CBS is horrible to not recognize it. 😢
he's not, and CBS didn't end STC...
they don't even recognize Shatner
Star Trek Continues was amazing! Wish it would indeed 'continue'.
sadly without Grant Imahara as Lt. Sulu
@@Tuning3434 ~ Yeah, that was sad. Seemed like such a happy fun loving guy.
FAR better than the new "official" star Trek entries by the Paramount folks in recent years...
@@eichelbergergary ~ Definitely. Continues nailed it.
I did like most of Strange New Worlds though, but the rest, no thanks
This is the absolute GEM of all Star Trek the commitment and dedication by Vic Mignogna and his staff deserve recognition come on Paramount this is treasure it's time to bring this one home.
Star Trek Continues was absolutely fantastic!!
Thank you Vic and the Star Trek: Continues crew for extending the dream for us.
The vignettes Vik spoke about towards the end were my absolute favorites! I cannot tell you how it brought joy to my heart! And Indeed, picking up from the most depressing moment, the last scene in Star Trek and breathing new life into it! I am forever grateful and love the work done by ST Continues! I just wish there were more episodes!
Oh yeah, those were really fun to watch! I admit I didn't watch too much before visiting the studios, but I've watched through multiple of their episodes and after the first minute or two, it really is like you're watching the original cast. They did so good recreating the look and feel of everything.
The Guide is SUPERB
Great to see Vic on the set again. Hope more episodes come out from Georgia!
I wish CBS could allow more episodes, and allow all this publicity to promote startrek
CBS use to be a lot more laid back until Alec Peters and Star Trek Axanar came along, Peters got greedy made over 1 million dollars. It was a HUGE no no for CBS you were fine till you made money and the laywers would smell blood in the water. Thanks Alec !
Fan films are very much a thing as long as they do not make money
@@Sepermangaming Not according to CBS/Paramount... :-P
@@igorschmidlapp6987 Plenty of fan films still being made in the Star Trek verse some much better than continues
@@Sepermangaming but they are limited.
I wish my friend John was still alive, he would have LOVED to go here. RIP John Fraser.
This series needs to go on, we need people like Vic, he’s amazing.
The Farragut Studios crew did a FANTASTIC job building those sets!
I would so love to see more of Star Trek by Vic, and cast.
Continues is the perfect bridge from TOS to The Motion Picture
I've been there twice. Going again soon. Vic is the best.
Really appreciated everything that went into making Star Trek Continues. You really captured the spirt of the original series. Scripts were fresh and tightly written. The cast was honest to the characters and talented. Special effects superb. And not enough words to describe the sets. Special guest stars and voices were the icing on the cake. Much better work than some of the newer spinoffs. And all fan based. A big tip of the hat.
I miss Star Trek Continues. I feel it could have went on for years. they did everything right but because of others who didn't they had to stop.
All it takes is a few to ruin it for all. Still, we'll enjoy what we can!
the studios ruined not Axanar. the fact peters got a million for his film should have been a clue to them maybe we are going the wrong direction but they decdied agaisnt it and now look where trek is.
I adored Star Trek Continues.
why did you stop?
Fairest of them all was insanely good a Sequel to mirror mirror...outstanding work to all involved...
I admire the fans that financed and built…all these sets…sooo….well….and dedicated all of their time and energy….to create these wonderful memories….and…to make them so real! 😊👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏….and….I enjoyed very much Star Trek Continues series in UA-cam 😊👍👍
Hope some Day i can travel from Germany to this amazing Place and meet Vic!
Star Trek Continues, i love it.
Pretty darn impressive!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My brother and I have visited there twice, used the transporter (no fingers or toes were lost), I looked into Mr. Spock's scanner and I actually sat in Kirk's chair.
I can now die a happy 72-year-old man.
This is a must--visit for any Star Trek fan.
Turned 70 last month. I recently watch 'Continues' and "The Neutral Zone" window popped up on my screen. I'm only a few driving hours away.. I had no idea. I'll be sitting in that Captain's chair in a few weeks!
dont. die. dont go gently into the night
That’s cool that Vic wore the Green uniform. I have never seen him wear it on set before.
I went up there a couple of years back. Vic gave the tour. The place is AMAZING...and Vic is so talented and engaging. Honestly, if it were in a bigger city...or closer to a tourist mecca....fans would flock even more to this! That said, it's worth the trip!
This is amazing. Even his uniform is perfect
There's another set recreation in Ticonderoga, NY. They get some of the Trek actors to appear. LeVar Burton, Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner and Walter Koenig will be there May 17,18 and 19 and William Shatner is there July 12,13 and 14. UPDATE: Brent Spiner cancelled.
So some of the TNG crew are coming for the ORIGINAL enterprise or for a TNG bridge recreation?
@@user-sb8yy6zj4q It's only the original series set.
Vic , thank you and the cast for making such a great continuation of the original 5 year mission , I hope that one day you will be able to CONTINUE .
Watched all of the Star Trek: Continues episodes. Were just like watching more episodes of the original series, that filled in the gap between that series and The Motion Picture. The sets appear identical, which gave them credibility.
I aboslutely loved this webseries when it came out. What a great behind the scenes video.
Nice to see Vic in costume for the Kingsland, GA OS set tour.
Like a glove
I always have a really bad problem hitting the fast-forward button through some UA-cam videos, but not on this one. For the love of God I was on the edge of my seat listening to every word that Captain had to say about the tour. And I really really really really really really really really really want to go on that tour. I would absolutely be in nerdvana
Visiting this studio was a dream come true! The tour was amazing and I highly recommend visiting it. Vic was awesome and you could tell how passionate he is about this place. Can’t wait to visit again!
I'm glad these sets are still around. Hopefully, I'll try to find the time to come and visit if for not other reason than to meet Vic and thank him for creating such an amazing show.
Great video. I've been there 3 times and Vic and Ray are terrific! A true family reunion every time! I will continue to go each year for sure!
This was a great video tour. Thanks so much for making this video. I watched it from beginning to end.
I love this series, top-notch and totally faithful to Star Trek lore.
Just amazing. The stories in the UA-cam episodes are often thoughtful, interesting and better than many post-TOS Star Trek shows.
I watched Star Trek as a child, a teenager AND an adult. I still do online and DVD'S. Star Trek will NEVER die.Gene Roddenberry was a genius! Thanks to ALL the posts here on you tube keeping it alive even more! How much does it cost for a tour?
If I recall, they run off donations, recommended $20 for tours.
Continue Star Trek Continues ! To be Continued..🖖
OMG.... i would live on the bridge...forever!
*Continues* was the best Trek in decades.
The franchise is currently garbage and run by an agenda not by *people who love Star Trek* .
Its the ONLY Trek we have had since 2005.
Vic is in a ton of anime which is crazy cool.
Awesome place! And vic to!
To clarify a point Vic made during the stop in Engineering: Star Trek was one of the most expensive shows on television at the time, but not *THE* most expensive. Mission: Impossible was also up there, and Mannix was actually a bit more. The difference is that those shows had better ratings, and were deemed worth the cost, whereas Star Trek, while its ratings were actually rather respectable, weren't high enough to justify the high costs. If it were pulling in Gunsmoke or Bonanza level numbers, that would've been a different story, and they would've gotten those 4th and 5th seasons, and probably more.
And another point is both ST and MI were Desilu productions, so they had 2 of the most expensive shows in production at the same time, further straining the studio’s resources.
was so expesive lucy had to sell the studio
@@andrewfischer8564 It was a factor, but if Desilu had held off a few more months, for when that syndication deal was set up, they never would've had to sell out to Gulf+Western.
I live south of Atlanta. I had no idea that I live only a few hours away from 'The Neutral Zone!'. I was 12 when Star Trek aired in 66'. Instant Trekkie!
I'll travel down to see you guys next month.
Hah! It only took 58 years for me to sit in the Captain's chair on the bridge!!
This is a positively enchanting video for an old Trekkie like me!
The attention to detail is amazing. The amount of labor by talented women and men to make this happen… especially since there were probably no blueprints or set dimensions available
Found the Continues series last month. As a first gen Trekkie I found it sweet as sugar and an awesome set recreation!
I wish it was still in production as they got the spirit just right! ❤❤❤❤
Wow, Vic, really cool tour! Wish I could've made it this time! Love how you dressed the part, a class act! 👍👍
Thank you so much for uploading. This old original series (and Star Trek Continues) fan so much appreciated seeing it.
Been here twice amazing place to go. Looking forward to coming back next winter for my third visit. Can’t get enough.
Doug spoke highly of Vic. I would love to go see this.
This was great tour of the sets used in the series.
Would be so cool to see these used on screen officially by Paramount in modern Trek
"modern trek" 🤣
@@flexydex8754 is that not an apt description? Trek that is being made in the modern day?
Beautifully reproduced sets, superb attention to detail, well done!
What a wonderfull effort by everyone concerned! Thanks for sharing 🙂
They should have Vic Mignogna as James Kirk on the Strange New Worlds series.
Incredible video, incredible set and staff. Thanks a lot for sharing.
Don’t know if you’ve been there, but check out the Star Trek set museum in Ticonderoga,NY. It’s like being on the USS NCC-1701.
Just amazing….brilliant!
I hope some of the original cast can come see this.
Thank You, Vic!
This is so cool. I'd love to see that in person. It would be a natural high for me.
I’m so glad you guys got to attend. 😁
Me too, should've done it sooner!
Thank you for posting this tour and such a wonderful series. The generous gift of allowing fans to download the episodes and make their own disc sets was a dream come true. I made a nice blu ray set with your files.
This is Awesome 🖖🏻
this is absolutely amazing! thank you! I was that age back then and there was nothing i would have preferred more than to fly on the enterprise. i can understand your enthusiasm so well!
THIS PLACE IS ON MY BUCKET LIST ! 👍🖖❤
I visited in October 2021, it was great to walk through.
I didn't hear him tell the story of the gold box in Kirk's quarters. They bought it from an estate auction some time ago. Shatner was astonished to see it. He said how the president of his fan club visited the set sometime around the second season and he didn't have a gift for her. So he went and grabbed the gold box to give her as a gift. Which explains why it went missing. It was her estate auction.
my uncle Tony Young, played in an Episode of the Original Series...the episode was Elaan Of Troyus...he played Kryton (i think thats how you spell it)...he was the main body guard for Elaan, and towards the end of the episode he tried to sabotage the enterprise and was caught, so he set his phaser to overload and killed himself LMFAO..sadly my uncle passed away back in 2002 from lung cancer...
Amazing stuff, thanks!
I LOVE this!!!❤
Fascinating!
That's awesome!
Nice goin Vic, thanks for the series and for this recreation.
Thanks for the upload 👍
Coming for a visit very soon!
This is amazing and I hope to see it one day.
This tour was so well done I felt like I was actually there
Thank you for this video. Until I saw your video, I did not even know this exist. I plan to support it and book a trip with my 11-year-old kid so that he can have the same joy that his dad had for so many years.
Absolutely WONDERUL, or perhaps - FASCINATING as my favorite vulcan might say....
Was there a few years ago. Amazing the detail put into the recreation. ❤
The first automatic door in the US was patented in 1931 and was optically triggered and was used in a restaurant. In 1954, Dee Horton and Lew Hewitt invented the first sliding automatic door. The automatic door used a mat actuator. In 1960, they co-founded Horton Automatics Inc and placed the first commercially available automatic sliding door on the market.
Very cool.
Hoping to visit it
I would like to say thank you for the great video of the enterprise corridor and the the bridge the engineering and all the other quarters are very good and crafted really nicely. Take good care of the set. Hope you can create some more videos of it.
this show was great
Gonna make it over there some day soon !!!!
You will not be disappointed, truly awe inspiring on all levels.
That is so cool. Hopefully, I will visit one day.
Well never thought I’d live to see a star fleet Liberace
Did not realize that all of this set and configuration(s), were this immense and detailed!! One Incredible setup! TRULY STAGGERING!!----- (Vic makes for a great tour guide).!!!
The official one in new york is much better and complete
Tell them in New York to fix their overhead lighting. The colors are all wrong.
@@mrb552 oh really? What are they supposed to be? Believe it or not but they do allow people to critique the set. They have also had almost every living TOS producer and actors there in person and I think they would know too.
@@heddingite Watch Star Trek New Voyages. Then watch Star Trek Continues. There is really no comparison in terms of production, lighting, acting, sets, etc. etc.
BTW I enjoyed watching New Voyages.
What a great tour, i am sitting here in Glasgow green with envy, i can't drive to this every week, and what a nice surprise to see Vic appear in uniform.
So awesome! I'd love to go there!
Do it, you won’t regret it
"Fascinating." 🖖🏻
As Mr. Spock would say.
GREAT video, and I had a chance to spend time with Vic and on the sets a while back. He's amazing, and the love for the OG series is clear in every inch of this place. DONATE.
I got to go to the Set in NY where they filmed Star Trek new voyages. Also great set recreations and fan films that is know a museum.
Fact they missed
The lens on the transporter floor are used in the ceiling on Next Generation . The actual ones used in Star Trek Original
Indeed. Also, Fresnel is not a company but a physicist who partly invented it, and is named after him.
@@Sonnell They made lighthouse lenses in the days before electricity-kerosene lamps! They probably got their start in business there.
Pretty cool, but if you want to see the best set recreations from Star Trek TOS, you MUST make the Trek to Ticonderoga, NY to see the Official Star Trek TOS Set Tour. The difference in detail on the Sets at the official museum tour are night and day to these. There are a bunch of additional rooms that were recreated at the Ticonderoga Museum that Atlanta didn’t build at all, and the entire lobby gift shop is devoted to dozens upon dozens of actual screen used costumes and props, vintage memorabilia, and other amazing replicas. Plus you get a sneak peek at the TNG sets they have already begun to build!
Make the Trek to Ticonderoga!
